Mohammad Taj presented the business plan for a new security product called Black Box aimed at reducing car theft in Pakistan. Black Box is an affordable alarm system consisting of a mobile phone, motherboard, and battery. It has unique features and small size that appeal to consumers. The target market is Karachi, which has high car theft. The product will be manufactured locally and promoted through word of mouth, newspapers, and billboards. With an estimated cost of 85 million rupees and payback period of 1.2 years, Black Box has good potential return on investment.

3.  Car theft is a widespread crime in Pakistan
 According to local news reports, there have been over
150,000 car thefts only in Karachi last year

very light. These are the key features a consumer would

6.  My first target market is Karachi.
 Since 2009, there had been many car theft especially in
Karachi and now in current time the figure of car theft has
now greatly increased.
 The biggest benefit here is that Karachi can be easily
divided into number of segments, as multiple type of
groups live here.
 Market Penetration is the best option to launch the product
and succeed with ease.

 Pricing strategy:
The price of ‘Black Box’ is Rs. 14000, which is affordable
by almost every middle to higher income earner. A simple

9.  The manufacturing of the product will be done locally, by
installing the manufacturing plant in the best Industrial
Zone.
 The components of the product such as the mobile and the
ampere battery will be consumed locally whereas the only
motherboard component will be imported from South
Korea.
 Other major cost will be, one the machinery needed in
order to build the product. The machinery for the plant will
also be imported.

10.  Black box itself will not be too costly for the number of
reason:
1. The product material will be cheap and in bulk
2. The product will be produced in bulk to reduce the fixed
cost per unit resulting in Economies of Scale (EOS).
 Including the promotional strategies and the cost to set up
the plant and retail shops, estimated cost will be 85million
Pakistani Rupees.
 The calculated Payback period is 1.2 years. Then the profits
will turn in.

to negotiate the partnership strategy, such as;
