2. THE DRAGON BOAT FESTIVAL

3. What? When? Where?
• The Dragon Boat Festival is
held in China on the 5th day
of the 5th month. It is a
cultural festival that has
been running for over 2,000
years, in remembrance of a
patriotic legend in China.
• The event involves dragon
boat racing, a lantern and
boat show and traditional
foods and costumes.

4. How did it come about?
• QU YUAN: A patriotic poet who
served in high offices.
• 28 years after being falsely
accused for conspiracy, he
committed suicide by drowning
himself in a river in China on the
5th day of the 5th month.
• The people of China searched
for his body on boats, and threw
rice covered in bamboo in the
river to keep the fish from eating
his body.

What makes this event so memorable and
significant?
• ASSUMPTION:
I assume that all people are very cultural and
traditional, and enjoy participating, sharing and
embracing their culture.

• Run a five-kilometer, un-timed race in which
thousands of participants attend. All the
players are splashed with color from head to
toe in different colors at each kilometer.

• The Color Run was founded in March 2011.
• This event has exploded since our debut event. They have
more than tripled our growth, hosting more than 300 events in
50+ countries in 2014.
• The Color Run, also known as the Happiest 5k on the Planet,
is a unique paint race that celebrates healthiness &
happiness.
• It takes place in North America, South America, Europe, Asia,
New Zealand,and Australia

The Color Run?
• The Color Run 5k is the first paint race of its kind and
was inspired by several awesome events, including
Disney’s World of Color, Paint Parties, Mud Runs, and
Festivals throughout the world such as Holi.
• They wanted to create a less stressful and untimed
running environment that is more about health and
happiness.

Color Run and Holi festival
• The Color Run and other similar ideas like Run or Dye is a great and
fun way to run with your friends and to come together as a
community. Do not have to deal with all that culture that would come
if you went to a Holi celebration. There are no prayers for spring
before these runs. There is absolutely no way you’ll have to even
think about the ancient traditions and culture this brand new craze is
derived from

• I chose this research question, First this event is about
run a five kilometre and spash color power to each other
every each kilometer. This event is have a good concept
that they focus on healthiness, happyiness and
entertaining to participantsthat come to the event. Every
ages of female and male can join this event. It’s go
around the world become more famous and bigger only
in 4 years.
