2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

We all have good and bad thoughts from time to time and situation to situation. We are bombarded daily with spiraling thoughts(both negative and positive) creating all-consuming feel , making us difficult to manage with associated suffering. Good thoughts are like our Mob Signal (Positive thought) amidst noise(negative thought) in the atmosphere. Negative thoughts like noise outweigh positive thoughts. These thoughts often create unwanted confusion, trouble, stress and frustration in our mind as well as chaos in our physical world. Negative thoughts are also known as “distorted thinking”.

2. Dr. Jeffcoat It is time for us not to think of our mouths as somehow disconnected from the rest of our bodies. The same blood flows through them, the same nerves go to them. To have a healthy body, you need a healthy mouth.

11. Proper brushing method 1. For thorough but gentle cleansing, use a soft toothbrush 2. Hold your brush at a 45° angel. Begin by brushing the outside of the front teeth. Use a gentle back-and-forth motion. 3. Next, brush the outside back teeth, starting along the gumline . 4. Inside back teeth. Use short, angled brush strokes.
12. 5. Inside front teeth. Tilt the brush vertically; use an up-and-down motion. 6. Chewing surfaces. Hold the brush flat. Use a gentle scrubbing motion.
13.
14.
15. Use about 18" of floss, leaving an inch or two to work with. Gently follow the curves of your teeth. Be sure to clean beneath the gum line, but avoid snapping the floss on the gums.
16.
17. 3.Proper Diet: 1. Avoid foods that are high in sugar content. 2.Carbonated drinks are more acidic than non carbonated drinks; hence more dangerous. 3.Foods like potato crisps tend to stick in the grooves; stay for an extended period and cause decay. 4.Avoid excessive intake of fruit juices (can be very acidic).
