WHAT CAN YOU SAY ABOUT THE PICTURES?
The working definition of communication
calls attention to 4 essential points;
 That communication involves people;
 That understanding communication involves trying to understand
how people relate to each other.
 That communication involves shared meaning which suggest that in
order for people to communicate, they must agree on the definition
of terms or symbols they are using; and
 The communication involving symbols: words, sounds, letters,
numbers and words – can only represent or approximate the ideas
they are meant to communicate.
• The picture suggest that for an effective communication to the place
between two or more individuals present in any communication
event the sender sends ideas in verbal or non verbal form to a
receiver. On the other end the receiver upon receipt of the message
and decodes the message in order to provide the feedback.

non-verbal aspects.
• Communication is a process and is characterized by dynamism. It
reflects change and an active interface. How a conversation starts
may not be consistent with how it ends.
• WRITE THE WORD TRUE IF THE STATEMENT IS CORRECT AND FALSE IF
THE STATEMENT IS NOT.
1. People’s participation is not a requirement in the process of
communication.
