This document analyzes and summarizes the title sequences of two films, "Sin City" and "Shutter Island". It notes that "Sin City" uses bold red text on a black background to stand out, while listing the film company, title, actors, and author. "Shutter Island" uses white text on black, also making the titles prominent. Both include the film company, production companies, title, and actors. The document concludes that for their own title sequence, they will include the film company, director, production companies, composer, and title.

4.  Looking at the title in ‘Sin City’ the only
colours used are reds whites and blacks which
are typical of films of this genre. The font is
very bold and angular and all words are in red
which helps make them stand out from the
black and white background. This is effective,
making the text the main focus of the frame
and I would definitely consider incorporating
similar features into my own work

5.  The first titles we see are the names of the film
company which have their own logos and therefor
don’t follow the trends of the other titles. At 3 minuets
10 seconds the title of the movie appear on a black
background making them the only focus then at
roughly 3-5 second intervals the names of the staring
actors appear. The last title includes the name of the
movie and the name of the author who wrote the book.
This seems to be an effective format which I may
replicate in my own title sequence
 In summary this opening sequence included the film
companies, the title of the film, staring actors and the
author of the book

7.  When looking at the opening sequence of
Shutter island we notice that other than the
paramount logo all titles are in white, all on a
black background, this method of making the
titles stand out contrasts from the method we
saw in ‘Sin City’ which used colour to achieve
its goal.

8.  Once again we notice that the film company
logo is the first thing we see and does not share
the same patterns hat the rest of the titles do.
After the film company we see the name of the
production company, the name of other
production companies that they have worked
with and the name of the movie. Similar to Sin
City the title of the movie is bigger and centre
of the screen .

9. In both opening sequences I have looked at I have
noticed that the film companies, Production
companies, the title of the film, staring actors and the
author of the book are all included in the title
sequences. It is also common for the composer of the
music and film director to be credited.
Through studying the opening sequences of two
movies contrasting in genre I have decided that in my
opening sequence I will include the film company,
directors name, production companies, the composer
of the music and then finally the title of the film.
