Openness is the solution for (Indonesian) higher education
Current situation: focus is limited to only implement Tridharma, that is, education,
research, and community service, with little concern on openness aspect.
The openness of Tridharma can potentially be a breakthrough in mitigating
the quality gap issue: opening Tridharma outputs for public would help to increase
the citizen inclusion in accessing the quality content of Tridharma, hence
narrowing the quality gap in higher education.
Open Tridharma
Open Tridharma is the collective spirit and effort to open and disseminate,
in a digital manner, the results of Tridharma in higher education
(in Indonesian, Tridharma Perguruan Tinggi), comprising education, research,
and community service.
Digital Licensing
Digital Literacy
• Digital literacy: ability to access, process, understand, and create
informative content in the digital environment
• Specialized training and tutorials on digitally opening Tridharma
outputs
• Awareness on digital security and privacy
Digital Infrastructure
• Computer hardware and internet connection are a must
• Storage and computing service for digital outputs from Tridharma:
in-house servers and/or cloud-based servers
• IT policies of universities

  • #9 Identify resources to open: education, research, community service The values of science will not decrease, but instead they will even increase if shared with others. For example, teaching material that is opened and shared may benefit the teaching processes of other universities, and interestingly, the universities sharing the material may also gain benefits by, say, receiving constructive feedback if unintended mistakes are found in the material.
