This document discusses open educational resources (OERs). It describes how OERs originated from increased access to information on the internet. OERs allow teachers to create and share lessons, activities, and other materials that learners and other teachers can freely use and adapt under open licenses. The benefits of OERs include lower costs, better quality and customized lessons, and increased student engagement. However, implementing OERs also presents challenges such as the time required for finding and adapting materials and developing sustainable business models.
