OOFELIE::Multiphysics is a 3D multiphysics simulation software that allows for the design and analysis of microsystems, such as MEMS and MOEMS devices. It uses strongly coupled finite element analysis to obtain accurate results for increasingly smaller components in a timely manner. The software automates design space exploration through parametric studies and optimization to identify the best design. It also links with CAD and EDA tools to facilitate the design flow from concept to fabrication. OOFELIE::Multiphysics was used by ONERA to simulate a vibrating inertial accelerometer and optimize its performance.

Short-term forecasting is usually classified into two groups: the first approach uses physical model in order to compute the downscaling, whereas the second group relies on statistical learning. We propose a new strategy based on both approaches: a micro-scale CFD model coupled with an artificial neural network correction. Selection of the optimal neural network is achieved through a genetic algorithm. This solution is tested on a real case, which leads to a relative RMSE improvement of 17%.
This slide deals with different aspects of Comsol Multiphysics and it's possibility in the future as multiple physics properties can be studied simultaneously with the help of different inbuilt or user-defined modules in this software.

The first MEMS Gyroscope from Maxim Integrated in the industry smallest 3x3mm package
Following the purchase of MEMS manufacturer SensorDynamics in 2011, Maxim releases its first MEMS Gyroscope reference with a very accurate and cost effective component.
The MAX21000 continues to use the PSM-X2 process jointly developed by SensorDynamics and the Fraunhofer Institute for Silicon Technology. This technology platform includes a proprietary surface micromachining process to build the mechanical structures and a gold silicon eutectic wafer bonding allowing an hermetic encapsulation of the gyro sensor.
Assembled in a LGA 3.0x3.0x0.9mm package, the MAX21000 is a low power consumption (5.4mA) and high accuracy 3-axis gyroscope targeted for mobile applications.

The paper proposes a design strategy to retain the true nature of the output in the event of occurrence of stuck at faults at the interconnect levels of digital circuits. The procedure endeavours to design a combinational architecture which includes attributes to identify stuck at faults present in the intermediate lines and involves a healing mechanism to redress the same. The simulated fault injection procedure introduces both single as well as multiple stuck-at faults at the interconnect levels of a two level combinational circuit in accordance with the directives of a control signal. The inherent heal facility attached to the formulation enables to reach out the fault free output even in the presence of faults. The Modelsim based simulation results obtained for the Circuit Under Test [CUT] implemented using a Read Only Memory [ROM], proclaim the ability of the system to survive itself from the influence of faults. The comparison made with the traditional Triple Modular Redundancy [TMR] exhibits the superiority of the scheme in terms of fault coverage and area overhead.
