On-the-Job Training (OJT)

Overall learning outcome of the OJT
 On-the-job-training (OJT) is simply the training that an employee receives at
work during the normal work day.
 It is an avenue for applying, enriching and enhancing the acquired
knowledge in the school in their particular field of endeavour.
 It is a way of changing the student’s outlook in life through exposure in the
performance of actual work relevant to IT that may serve as a stepping-
stone for future career.
 It develops interpersonal relationship with other employees within the
cooperating agency.

 FOOD AND BEVERAGE SERVICE
 Cosmo Service
 Room Service

 Laying down of covers
 Cleaning of glasses
 Service of water
 Service of food and beverages
 Order takings
 Helping the valley view staff
 Clearance of tables
 Serving the guests during banquet

Brief SWOT
Strength
 Real Life Experience
 Enables Trainees to get into there future jobs.
Weakness
 I have a strong, compulsive need to do things quickly and remove them from
my "to do" list, and sometimes, the quality of my work suffers as a result.
 It can sometimes leads to loss of Hotels and can cause theft.
Opportunity
 Builds Youth Entrepreneurship skills.
Threats
 Due to recent staff shortages, I'm often overworked, and this negatively impacts
my creativity.
 Can cause Mis-Management
Suggestions & Recommendation for
Improvement
 OJT is actually one of the oldest forms of training. Long before the invention
of other training strategies, such as classroom training or e-learning, the only
practical way of learning a job was to work alongside an experienced
worker in a particular trade or profession.
 The OJT trainer must be trained to assume to the role of “instructor”
 Learners must do the application themselves
 The training message must be consistent
 Distractions must be minimized in the work environment

On-the-Job Training (OJT) Learning Outcomes and Operational Aspects

Overall learning outcome of the OJT  On-the-job-training (OJT) is simply the training that an employee receives at work during the normal work day.  It is an avenue for applying, enriching and enhancing the acquired knowledge in the school in their particular field of endeavour.  It is a way of changing the student’s outlook in life through exposure in the performance of actual work relevant to IT that may serve as a stepping- stone for future career.  It develops interpersonal relationship with other employees within the cooperating agency.

Weakness  I have a strong, compulsive need to do things quickly and remove them from my "to do" list, and sometimes, the quality of my work suffers as a result.  It can sometimes leads to loss of Hotels and can cause theft. Opportunity  Builds Youth Entrepreneurship skills. Threats  Due to recent staff shortages, I'm often overworked, and this negatively impacts my creativity.  Can cause Mis-Management
  • 6. Suggestions & Recommendation for Improvement  OJT is actually one of the oldest forms of training. Long before the invention of other training strategies, such as classroom training or e-learning, the only practical way of learning a job was to work alongside an experienced worker in a particular trade or profession.  The OJT trainer must be trained to assume to the role of “instructor”  Learners must do the application themselves  The training message must be consistent  Distractions must be minimized in the work environment
