The One Laptop Per Child (OLPC) project aims to provide affordable, rugged, low-power laptop computers to children around the world. Founded in 2005 by Nicholas Negroponte, it distributes XO laptops that emphasize constructivist learning principles through activities and wireless connectivity. Peru has had the largest deployment to date, with over 300,000 XOs provided to schools, resulting in improved educational outcomes for students based on early evaluations.
