The Ideal of a Man The Ideal of a Woman of the Heian...
The ideal of a man and the ideal of a woman of the Heian court differs significantly from what
people of our modern society might consider ideal, but that is to be expected as our modern
society has had much time to be exposed to and affected by the influences of many different
cultures viewpoints. In comparison, the Heian court was a more closed society, so back then, the
notions of what was acceptable and unacceptable and the standards to which men and women were
measured were more defined. Genji monogatari suggests the standards to which the sexes should be
measured and gives examples of people who meet the standards. It goes without saying that Genji,
the hero of the tale, is the perfect man. Throughout the tale, every character,... Show more content

He obeyed, among others, the convention of sending poems to women after staying the night with
them. Genji was a prodigy when it came to the playing the kin, and he could even play the sЕЌ no
koto. Judging by the way that he was portrayed, I would not be surprised if there was not an
instrument that he could not play. When Genji and TЕЌ no ChЕ«jЕЌ performed Blue Sea Waves,
although TЕЌ no ChЕ«jЕЌ was very skillful in his dancing as if he had rehearsed many times,
Genji was still the person who drew all of the attention from their audience. Genji s dance was so
elegant, and his voice was so beautiful that it was likened to the kalavinka, the bird that sings in
paradise. Genji s prowess with painting was also out of this world. The picture contest in chapter
17 ended immediately after his paintings were revealed, even though the previous contenders were
expert painters brought in specifically for the competition. His paintings were renderings of Suma
and Akashi the places where he had spent his time in exile. Seeing paintings that captured the
essence of the faraway place that Genji had gone to brought tears to everyone s eyes as they were
filled once again with feelings surrounding the despair brought on by Genji s absence. The manner
in which Genji treated his many lovers was another quality that made him such a great man. He
took pity on women for their shortcomings and trespasses against him rather than hating and
blaming them.

Organized Religion Exposed in Richard Wright s Native Son
If the United States were to adopt a Communist government, it would be a better country. If
Americans were to dispose of religion, they would be content people. If Richard Wright were to
complete an assignment regarding the context of his novel, Native Son, the aforementioned
arguments would be his focus. Wright, like all Marxists, believes that religion is the opiate of the
masses, providing a surreal dream world with negative side effects. The representation of organized
religion in Native Son supports Wright s highly atheistic, Communistic views and his aspirations for
the United States. By negatively using conventional religious symbols, such as the cross, prayer,

Although Bigger s character refutes the concept of religion, Wright compares him to a
struggling Jesus Christ throughout the novel; society is to learn from Bigger s example that
capitalism is the core evil of the country, just as Christians look to Christ to delineate between sin
and salvation. Bigger s interactions with the Daltons mirror those of Jesus throughout the
Stations of the Cross. Bigger s initial visit to the Dalton home foreshadows his death because the
setting mimics that of the crucifixion; all at once...the sky [turns] black (48), as it does while
Jesus hangs upon the cross on Good Friday. When Bigger first visits the Dalton home, he slip[s]
back (51) into his chair, just as Jesus falls while carrying his cross to Mount Calvary; this scene
represents the persecution in store for Bigger by those families who, like the Daltons, consider
themselves religious. Even during the murder and burning of the body of Mary Dalton, Bigger s
actions parallel Christ s. Similar to Christ s struggle with the cross upon his back, Bigger stoop[s]
and ca[tches] the strap of Mary s trunk and carrie[s] it downstairs (103) with her body inside, and
the murder of Mary becomes Bigger s cross, upon which he is executed.
Similarly, prayer reappears within Native Son in order to prove the unimportance of God and the
ineffectiveness of belief. The rat remains dead

Protect Pollinator Populations
Why Regulations Are Needed to Protect Pollinator Populations
Currently, an estimated 3.2 million tons of pesticides are used each year (Hicks, 2012).
Pesticides are normally misused by people with little knowledge or care for their harmful effects.
Without effective enforcement of regulations, pesticides are easily spread beyond their projected
areas. According to research, the overuse of pesticides causes many human diseases, animal
diseases, and disruptions in our ecosystem. Well defined regulations, along with consumer
education, could limit the misuse of pesticides and protect our fragile pollinator populations from
continued decline to help ensure future food sources for many generations to come.
Neonicotinoids are the most widely used pesticides in the world. Neonicotinoid toxins can remain

Fifty two percent of pesticides are in your drinking water due to the use of chlorine to disinfect it.
Farmers only use 17% (Lah, 2011). Chlorine is also harmful to bees, which are the main animal
species that pollinates. Most chlorine contains neonicotinoids which are chemicals that are active
ingredients in many pesticides. Multiple pesticide products used by homeowners have manufacture
recommended rates for applications 120x higher than rates for agriculture crops (Jennifer Hopwood,
2012).
An estimated 2.2 million people are at risk due to exposure from agricultural pesticides, with the
majority of this population being located in developing nations (Hicks, 2012). Most people affected
by pesticides contract them by consuming food contaminated with a high concentration of
pesticides. In humans, pesticides can cause headaches, blurred vision, vomiting, abdominal pain,
immune system suppression, blood and liver diseases, asthma, and even nerve damage. Pollinators,
and other animals living around the streams where pesticides accumulate experience many of these

4.1Explain the features and purpose of different types of formal and informal meetingAn
informal meeting is more relaxed and doesn t have to follow all the guidelines of a formal
meeting. An agenda may not have to be set and the venue may be somewhere more relaxed such

people involved. This could be a one to one with your manager a team meetingor a training course.
A formal meeting has more structure to it, it requires an agenda and minutes to be taken. Examples
of the need for a formal meeting would be board meetings, management meetings, and committee
meetings.

The chair person is the person to hold the meeting together. They need to ensure that the meeting
starts and ends at the agreed time and that it follows the agenda. They also need to ensure that the

Orlando s Theory Of The Deliberative Nursing Process
Critique Analysis This section presents an analysis of Orlando s theory. The central thesis of
the Theory of the Deliberative Nursing Process is finding out and meeting the patient s
immediate need for help. The concepts and propositions of the theory are written at a concrete
level of discussion (Fawcett, Desanto Madeya, 2013). The theory is classified as a middle range
predicative theory. The theory identifies the effects of a specific interpersonal nursing process on
identification of the patient s immediate need for help. origins. Ida Jean Orlando was born in
1929. She obtained her diploma in nursing from New York Medical College, her Bachelor of
Science in public health nursing from St. John s University and Masters in mental health nursing
at Columbia University (Current Nursing, 2013). She was an Associate Professor at Yale School
of Nursing and Director of the Graduate Program in Mental Health Psychiatric Nursing (Current
Nursing, 2013). Orlando published her book The Dynamic Nurse Patient Relationship in 1961.
Orlando does not credit any theoretical sources in the development of her theory (Necor, 2014, p.
5). She formulated the deliberative nursing process from the considerable amount of data she
recorded on nurse patient observations. She evaluated facts from those observations to develop her
theory. Orlando proclaimed that her theory is valid and applied it in her work with patients and
nurses and the teaching of students (Necor, 2014, p. 5). unique focus.

Hamlet s Grief
Tis not alone my inky cloak, good mother, / nor customary suits of solemn black / [ . . . ] but I

1.2.76 73, 85 86) says Hamlet when confronted about his way of grieving over his father s recent
death. Shakespeare s play Hamletis a remarkable tale that is centered on the idea of death and grief.
While death is a universal occurrence, meaning every person will deal with it, how we grieve
after a loss is completely individual. To look at a formula of grief, most turn to the five stages of
grief developed by Elizabeth Kubler Ross, a psychiatrist, who studied the topic in her book On
Death and Dying. This model consists of denial, anger,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This idea of acceptance of death proven in Hamlet s line to Horatio after being challenged to a
fencing match with Laertes, if it be now, / tis not to come; if it be not to come, it will be now;
/ if it be not now, yet it will come. The readiness is / all. Since no man of aught he leaves knows,
what / is t to leave betimes? Let be (5.2.221 225). This is an important line in the play because it
shows Hamlet s acceptance of death in his own terms and everyone else s, meaning if it is
supposed to happen, it will. This also shows Hamlet s acceptance of his destiny when
concerning death and revenge. At the end of the play, when Hamlet is dying from the poisoned
sword, he does not grieve or think of what will happen to his spirit. Instead he moves on by
passing on his vote for Fortinbras and requesting that his story be passed on by Horatio (5.2.349,
356 357). This desire to move on shows the acceptance of Hamlet s faith, and the final stage of the
Kubler Ross model. Throughout Shakespeare s play Hamlet, the characters clearly describe the
grief they are experiencing through their poetic lines. Using the Kubler Ross model, the audience
can dissect the grief process to better understand Hamlet s intentions. In the play, Hamlet
experiences strong emotions concerning grief, including his examples of depression, anger, and
finally, acceptance. The play shows that while the model was created in 1969, the

It is impossible to attain completeness in the assessment of any one s character and more so in the

Here Amleth directly knew that his uncle was guilty quite in contrast to Hamlet s case and
Amleth s life was in great danger also in contrast to Hamlet s as his uncle Claudius was fond of his
nephew. He takes good care of him and calls him his son as well.
There is no great apparent danger to Hamlet s life from Claudius until he is aware that Hamlet
knows of his devilish act of murdering the King Hamlet. In the case of Amleth he had every
reason to act as if he were mad because that was necessary to him to accomplish his duty of
avenging his father s murder. It is hard to understand why Hamlet pretends madness when he
could have done what he had to with great ease and no one would have objected to Claudius
dethronement as Claudius was not popular with his people, which is quite evident from the fact
that Laertes could raise a public revolt against the king so boldly. In Amleth s case it was
completely different, his uncle had complete support in the coup. And A.C.Bradley further observes
that Shakespeare was not properly able to link all the portions of Amleth s story into Hamlet .
The other way of analyzing Hamlet is from the play itself. This is the most fascinating part and it
makes the most interesting reading. First and foremost we must go to the backdrop in which the
play is set and the introduction of Hamlet into the play.

Newsworthiness of Child Abuse Cases
Society is now what Downing, Mohammadi and Mohammadi (1990) would call a media culture
, this is where the perceptions and images of reality are often shaped by the actions and decisions
of news editors and producers (Surrette, 1992). The role of the media according to O
Shaughnessy and Stadler (2008) is to give the public an insight on what is happening in the world
and to make sense of that information to the public. The main focus of this essay will be looking
two main concepts which are newsworthiness and the dark figure of crime, relating 5 news articles
that are centred around child abusethat have featured in the New Zealand Herald and stuff.co.nz.
The media plays an important role in society by creating and shaping society s attitudes about most
current issues including child abuse. In New Zealand, as well as in the international media, the
physical abuse of a child regularly features in the newspapers, magazines, radio and television
(Merchant, 2010). When it comes to the public understanding of child abuse, this is influenced by
the knowledge that they gain through reading newspapers or mass media like the television or
radio. Kitzinger (2004) states that our individual view and sense of the world are a social construct
and the media are an important resource to help us construct that world view.
The way that child abuse is reported in the media has become what you would call entertainment
where there seems to be an incline towards dramatising child abuse in a

The Importance Of Disengaged Students In Education
Teachers have been struggling with disengaged students for decades. In order to make any
positive strides in American education, educators need to focus on the one factor that can
illuminate the reasons for disengagement, the student. For the purposes of this paper, disengaged
students are the ones who do not exhibit active learning skills during a class period in school.
These learners may over socialize with peers, use digital devices throughout class, cut classes,
leave class frequently, sleep, or fail to submit in class and out of class assignments. In 2001,
President Bush signed the No Child Left Behind Act, instilling hope that the federal government
could better hold K 12 schools accountable for all students to have proficient academic outcomes
(Klein, 2017). President Obama made changes to the No Child Left Behind Act when 42 states
needed waivers due to not reaching the proficiency expectation. In 2015, the Every Student
Succeeds Act was enacted. This Act provides states with more flexibility in order to help students
meet proficiency. The Act also provides resources to secondary institutions that struggle to meet
graduation requirements ( ESSA Overview, 2017). In an effort to align educationacross America,
states could opt into utilizing the Common Core State Standards beginning in 2009. This academic
overhaul became the national effort in organizing education in America by standardizing what is
learned and when in K 12 schools. Currently, 42 states and the

The KMG led to such a decrease by focusing mainly on conversations in the communities to
discuss social issues. Ethiopian citizens have been trained to educate the public and convene with
organizations that will help. FGM in Ethiopia has decreased by 10 percent in 2016. The country
has also incorporated the 2015 Demographic and Health Survey and Child, Early and Forced
Marriage to control the situation.
Solutions:
Female Genital Mutilation is one of the biggest health threats to women in the world. It
discriminates against their right to health and security. Ethiopia notices this world problem and
proposes solutions leading to the elimination of the practice. First, Ethiopia proposes to spread
awareness all over the world. In undeveloped countries, this will be done by partnering up with
NGO s including: Save the Children, V Day, Worldvision, and Equality Now. This practice is
believed to be decreased and eventually stopped by educating the sovereignty of the dangers and
threats FGM conceives. Respected locals would be encouraged to educate not only the women on
the harmful effects, however also boys and men, the public, faith leaders, and health professionals.
For the public to act and comprehend this, the speakers must be trusted and efficient. The public
will be taught how to avoid pressure of being accepted from the community and doubt how FGM is
necessary to become suitable for marriage. By

Descriptive And Rhythmic Components Of Speech Across...
Suprasegmental variables are the melodic and rhythmic components of speech across segmental
boundaries, also called prosody. They can affect intelligibility as well as imply additional meaning.
The main variables are intonation, stress, and rhythm. These deal with pitch, prominence, and
length across a phrase, respectively, although each of these variables have significant
interconnections. Intonation is the suprasegmental factor that can greatly affect the meaning of a
phrase. An intonation pattern is a measure of how pitch varies across a phrase. Specific patterns,
like rising pitch at the end of a phrase, can imply a question and other patterns can imply other
meanings. Intonation can also inform the listener as to when the speaker is finished talking by
raising or lowering pitch at the end of a phrase. Monopitch, or lack of intonation, produces a
reduction in intelligibility. When studying pitch related to speech a conversion from frequency to
semitones is often calculated because this gives an equalized representation across male/female
speakers. Stresscan be found within words and within sentences. Stress is a change in the force or
effort given to a word. This can be seen in fundamental frequency, intensity, duration, or any
combination of these factors at once. Stress changes the prominence of certain words in a phrase, as
well as possibly changing the meaning of a word. Through changing the prominence of certain
words stress has an effect on intonation patterns.

A Farewell Of Arms, By Ernest Hemingway
Major events throughout history have resulted from human desire for fulfillment by instituting war,
preaching religion, and glorifying love. In A Farewell to Arms, Ernest Hemingway introduces
Frederic Henry, an American in the Italian Army during World War I. Frederic Henry s attempts to
find his meaning in life, are represented by his attempts to discover the possibilities in war, religion,
and love. He does this through his friendship with a Catholic priest, his intense love affair with
nurse Catherine Barkley, who ends up pregnant with his child and eventually dies during labor,
along with their child, and finally with his position as Lieutenant during the war. Throughout A
Farewell to Arms, Ernest Hemingwayrepeatedly mentions games in war, love, and religion, to
illustrate his belief that humans use these as a way to play with and hopefully reach fulfillment but
also use them as a distraction from the inevitable ending: death.
Hemingway s repeated allusions to games in war, and his portrayal of Henry s attitude about war
from beginning to end of the novel shift dramatically; illustrating that war is used as a tool or a game
by humans to enrich their lives and avoid death, while systematically stealing the lives of others.
From disinterest, to realization, and finally reflection, Henry experiences diverse changes in his
ideals concerning war. At first Henry decides that I would not be killed... It did not have anything to
do with me stating his detachment from the

Mayan Calendar Research Paper
There are around forty different calendars used in the world today, usually for determining pious
or religious events. Many countries like the United States use the Gregorian calendar for their

hand, lunisolar or solilunar calendars connect the two kinds and is basically solar calendars with
dates indicating a moon phase. The oldest known calendar was made by the Mayans. The Mayans

The, The Infernal Machine, And Ubu Roi By Alfred Jarry
In the three plays that we have discussed in class, Antigone by Jean Anouilh, The Infernal Machine
by Jean Cocteau, and Ubu Roi by Alfred Jarry, there is a prodigious depiction of female characters
and power that come in numerous ways. In The Infernal Machine there are female characters, such
as Jocasta and the Sphinx, who show power and authority. Likewise, in Antigone, characters, such
as Antigone and her sister, Ismene, also show power and supremacy. In Ubu Roi, the main character
that showed power through rule was Mere Ubu. From being a woman of authority, to rebelling
against men with a greater authority than them, to doing what you want no matter if it was right
or wrong for the people, these characters truly show what it is to be a woman of power in one
way or another. Characters in both plays display power in innumerable means, and it shows the
leadership of women. John C. Maxwell once said, A leader is one who knows the way, goes the
way, and shows the way. Women in these plays do what they can to show power, in their each
individual ways. In Cocteau s The Infernal Machine, Oedipusis the main character of the play
showing power, but the women in the play also depict power in additional ways. One example is
Jocasta, the mother of Oedipus, with her title being the first symbol of power since she is known as
the queen of Thebes. Although, by the end of the play Jocasta hangs herself because she did not

Narrative Style And Film Analysis Of The Grand Budapest Hotel
The Grand Budapest Hotel revolves around Europe of the 1930s and 1960s while it was in time
of the war, through the adventures of The Grand Budapest Hotel s doorman Zero and the Hotel
manager Gustave. The saga is linked to a burglar and a Renaissance painting, a great family s
wealth war, and the sudden change of war in Europe. It reflects the vicissitudes of political history
in Europe for half a century. This article will analyze The Grand Budapest Hotel from two aspects:
artistic style and film theme.
I. Artistic style
The Grand Budapest Hotel is the work of American director Wes Anderson. His works have a
strong personal style: bright colour, the full symmetry of the composition, a straight frame, a
deliberately orderly stance, unique visual style and narrative mode. In his film, a sense of humour
is often through Deadpan expression: actors often deadpan and no body movements, but in the
restraint and slight change, as well as in the pause between the odd cold humour. The hues, props
and sets of his films are often colourful and whimsical. There are still plenty of these factors in The
Grand Budapest Hotel, but many new elements are added.
1. Narrative mode
In terms of the overall structure of the film, this film breaks through the previous single line
narrative mode, using four layers of nested narrative structure, layer by layer, and without any
lack of independence. The first level is a little girl went to the cemetery to worship writer s
grave, she put the key to hanging on the writer statue, and took out a book called The Grand
Budapest Hotel , she turned to the end of the book, the book was printed with pictures of writer;
the second level is the story of the girl who began to pay tribute to the author in the cemetery.
The third level is in The Grand Budapest Hotel, where old Zero tells his story to a young man.
Time and space returned to Zero when Zero was young, and this began the journey of Zero and
Mr. Gustave, this is the fourth level of narrative mode. Skip the middle specific storyline and go
straight to the end. Gustave s last moments are in black and white. Then, when the writer was
young, he ended his conversation with Zero, and the writer was sitting in the lobby of The Grand

Pros And Cons Of Internet Censorship
From September 29, 2007 to October 4, 2007 the country of Myanmar shut off all internet
connections to the outside world following a harsh government reaction to protest were 200
protestors were killed (Subramanian, 2011). In January 2011 Egypt disconnected all internet traffic
into and out of the country in response to anti government protest (Subramanian, 2011).
In the western democratic regions internet censorship is not as heavy as in the east and muslim
nations (Greengard, 2010). However, research shows that France, Poland, and Germany have all
turned to internet censorship to ban sites that have support Nazi causes (Greengard, 2010). In 1996
and 1998 the United States passed laws, Communications Decency Act and Child Online Protection
Act to make way for internet censorship (Subramanian, 2011). The United State Supreme Court
overturned both laws as being unconstitutional (Subramanian, 2011). Financial pressure was used in
the Wikileaks case, when the United States government threatened to prosecute any financial
institutions handling donations and service providers who sold related merchandise (Murdoch
Roberts, 2013). India has required Gmail, Blackberry, and Skype to provide their encryption keys
to the government following terrorist attacks in Mumbai (Eko, Kumar, Yao, 2011). Further, India
has required Google to take down content that the government found to be objectional (Eko et al,

you ll be tired before the end of the game. My stamina is good but I m a smoker so I have to watch
my breathing or else I ll start wheezing. Sometimes my breathing drains my stamina due to
straining during my breaths and when I get sick and play it s hard for me to breathe. For the most
part I can control my stamina and play multiple games before I get fatigued.
Showing off my skills and using my advantages to win a game. One of my skills is hesitation
being able to hesitate makes the opponent wondering about my next move. When hesitating you
can act as if you re going right but go left and sometimes it turns into a hesitation cross over. An
advantage I have is being taller and heavier than other players. Being taller helps me shot over my
opponent without them blocking me. Me being heavier than my opponent I can back them down
and make an easy layup.
Basketball is a very exciting sport that I enjoy very much. Stamina is a big percentage of the
sport. Knowing how to make shots can be thrilling. Showing off skill and using advantages may
be beneficial. Basketball is my favorite sport because it exercises my body, mind, and makes me feel

How It Feelings To Be Colored By Zora Neale Hurston
Critical response essay How it feels to be colored written in 1972 by Zora Neale Hurston is a
very descriptive piece in which the author, talks about what it was like growing up in all black
community where she felt no race, until stepping into a more mixed and diverse environment.
Surrounded by more people of the white origin, where she begins to feel the feeling of being
different Colored . Neale uses a very descriptive word choice and attention grabbing metaphors to
help portray her belief That it doesn t matter the shade nor colorof an individual s skin, when judged
based on personal morals and the desire of one s wellbeing we do not differ so much at all and in
fact we all share similar characteristics. Zora helps bring to light the social indifferences a colored
personmay have felt in those times. I believe her work helps portray that given the short end of
the stick, life is what you make it; and how you perceive things. Once an individual has self
happiness theirs not a person or thing that can take that away from them. Neale s work how it
feels to be colored me takes place in Eatonville, Florida where Zora the main character outlines her
journey from a curious little colored girl, into a self assured, independent Black woman. Growing
up in an environment where white peoplewere just persons that passed through town heading to and
from their destination. Words were never exchanged between

Essay on My Definition of Success
In his poem, What is Success, Ralph Waldo Emerson gave priceless insight when he wrote: To
laugh often and much; To win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; To
earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; To appreciate
beauty, to find the best in others; To leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a
garden patch or a redeemed social condition; To know even one life has breathed easier because
you have lived. This is to have succeeded. Emerson s quote provides a paradigm of success a
model to be admired and strived for. Emerson teaches that learning to appreciate the subtleties in life
can make it that much more enjoyable and interesting. In... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It s not surprising, then, that I want an exceptional career. And I m not special in that regard.
Most students share my goal. After several semesters being surrounded by smart, ambitious
Business School students, I ve noticed that there are striking differences in the ways people
define an exceptional career. And the way people define success can have a big impact, not only
on decisions about their first jobs, but also how much they achieve and happy they are in their
careers. As it is commonly used, the word success is sometimes synonymous with another word
winning. Success is beating the other guy and getting the big salary. Success is what happens
when other people think you re a success or when you can convince them of it. As a junior, I
attended a recruiting event for the Boston Consulting Group. Hardly ten words were out of the
BCG representative s mouth before he was compelled to announce that he was a partner at the
firm and that he d gotten his MBA at Harvard. He then delivered a presentation that was fixated
on his firm s corporate mantra: We re Winning. Some of my sharpest classmates ate it up. High
achievers who knew little about BCG Consulting before they entered the B School competed
intensely to land one of the select openings there. They aren t alone. I know of many students who

My client is a 36 year old Hispanic female. She has a five pack year history. Her health history
stated she suffers anxiety but currently is not receiving medical treatment for her condition. The
patient s psychosocial state appeared very anxious with increased respirations of
23 breaths per minute, heart rate of 102 and tightly grasping rosary in her hands. She mentioned to
the nurse that she was afraid to go back to surgery again . Waiting for surgery can result in
increased stress hormones during the preoperative period and may show as increased heart rate,
blood pressure and sugar levels (Selimen Andsoy, 2011).The client was informed that it was
common to be anxious and asked if there were any special concerns. She requested to bring her

Who were the Huns, Ottomans, and the Austrians and how did...
In Europe s early history there were many influential superpowers that contributed to the way
Europe developed as a whole. Some of these powerful influences include the Huns, Ottomans, and
Austrians. These three forces left their mark on Europe, once they were no more. Whether it is
military tactics, or political ideas, without them Europewouldn t be what it is today. So who really
were the Huns, the Ottomans, and the Austrians? What made them so powerful that they
influenced Europe s course in history as a whole? The earliest were the Huns, one of the most
feared groups in all of history. They were nomads that used their unique war tactics to demolish
any tribe or civilization in their way. . In Europe the Huns fought and defeated the German Goths
of Eastern Europe, the Slavs, the Franks from France, and even the Roman Empire, plus and many
others. The Huns settled in the area that is now called Hungary. They caused so much fear and
chaos that even the rumor of one of their attacks would cause a community to travel elsewhere.
They traveled westward out of China. They left a clear path, on their way to the west, of panic
and devastation. It is even thought that the Great Wall of China was built as a precaution of a
Hunnish attack. The reason they were so feared was their strong and cunning military forces. They
were all skilled bowmen who rode on intimidating horses. This put all their enemies at a
disadvantage, which proved successful for the Huns. Even though bows were

My Interview By Thomas Travers, A, New Jersey And Worked...
My interview was with Thomas Travers, a Technical Specialist that lives in Wharton, New
Jersey and worked at Tiffany and Co. for 18 years. When Mr. Travers started to work for Tiffany
and Co. back in 1998, he had to be familiarized with the IBM AS/400, which is a midrange
computer that is now in the IBM Iseries. On the IBM AS/400 he worked with tools and
languages such as RPG, CL, and qm query, which are used to bundle a bunch of queries that are
in SQL. He also used operating system commands and RPG programs on the AS/400 to be able
to put all the objects in a CL. He has also worked with SQL Server, C# and .NET programming
for front end development and business applications. Since Mr. Travers works on different
projects and different parts of the technical aspect of Tiffany and Co. , his typical workday
fluctuates in what kind of work he does and how much of a workload there is. Recently, as far as
when the interview was taken, he and his team were at the end of development on a large
project that has been in the works for about two years. They were going to go live with it the
week after the interview took place. What this meant for Mr. Travers to do during that time was
to go through the project and to make sure that there are no bugs in the programming and to get
every part set up and ready for execution before the deadline. Once deadline arrives, he will start
up the project and hook it up to communicate with their pre existing systems via a service bus. In

The Criminal Justice System Deals With The Risk And...
Critically evaluate the ways in which the criminal justice system deals with the risk and
management of sex offenders. According to the Office for National Statistics (ONS), from
December 2013 to December 2014, the amount of recorded sexual offences has risen by 32
percent to 80,262 for England and Wales (ONS, 2015:13). The most serious cases of sex
offending will result in a custodial sentence. From 2005 to 2011 the proportion of offenders who
received a custodial sentence for committing sexual offences is between 55 and 59 percent (ibid,
41). Custody is an immediate way of protecting the public from the future risks posed by a serious
sexual offender. However, at some point of the offender s custodial sentence, it is likely that they
will be granted their right to parole; and eventually will be released into the community.
Furthermore, the less serious sexual offenders who receive suspended sentences, community
sentences, or fines are also dealt with in the community and therefore put the public at immediate
risk of harm. Although the risks can never be fully eliminated, it is extremely important that the
amount of risk imposed on society is kept to a minimum (Harrison, 2011:78). This essay will focus
on the Violent and Sex Offenders Register (ViSOR) and Multi Agency Public Protection
Arrangements (MAPPA), and evaluate their effectiveness on minimising the risk of harm to the
public. One method that the CJS uses to reduce risk is the Sex Offenders Register, which was

The War of the Worlds
When earth is invaded, what will happen? Great science fiction novels explore many scenarios
like this. The likelihood of an Alien invasion is still a highly talked about topic in science fiction
today. But none approach the subject of alien invasions like The War of the Worlds. When looking
for a science fiction novel a reader has a wide array of books to choose from. One would want to
choose a classic science fiction novel that is engaging and believable. H.G. Wells novel The War of
the Worlds is mesmerizing and conceivable literary wise; Wells does this by portraying a believable
and captivating plot, clever character development and interesting and creative science to support it.
The War of the Worlds is a very believable story with the way it portrays the late nineteenth
century and the way it describes how humans interacted with each other and reacted to their
situations. The narrator and his brother give really detailed descriptions that keep you entertained
and interested throughout the novel. The narrator describes his surroundings extremely vividly
which makes it easy to picture in one s mind while reading; The narrator describes the ruined
remains of a neighborhood that he has been held up in, Now I stood on a mound of smashed
brickwork, clay, and gravel, over which spread a multitude of red cactus shaped plants, knee high,
without a solitary terrestrial growth to dispute their footing. The trees near me were dead and

The Impact Of Deforestation
Deforestation is increasing global actions with environmental and economic outcomes. It refers to
the destruction of tropical forests, primarily done by human activities such as logging and
agriculture. Eighty percent of Earth s land animals and plants live in forests that results with
deforestation. By the act of deforestation, humans are destroying the homes and killing individual
species that habitat there. In addition to the harm, deforestations strike on animals is also having a
devastating effect on the climate. consequently, with the act of deforestation, many Americans are
given various job opportunities related to agriculture.
Rainforests are homes to millions of species, where many are also endangered. By cutting down
forests, humans are not just destroying the homes of individual species, but also resulting in the
extinction of the many species. In fact, deforestation has already eliminated various species from
our planet. According to a UN Environmental Programme report released on 2005, Amazon
rainforest region has lost 17 percent of its forest and led to the extinction of 26 animals and plants
species in South America. The UN reporter also noted, The deforestation in the region was still
going on at an accelerated pace . In addition to the destruction of habitats, the loss of trees also
allows a greater mass of greenhouse gases to be released into the atmosphere. Presently reported by

The Clash Of Civilizations By Samuel Huntington
This essay addresses the question of how, if at all, does the trend of intra state conflicts among
groups that have far outnumbered state vs. state conflicts, and if that trend in internal conflict
within states over the last 20 years supports Samuel Huntington s major hypothesis in his essay
The Clash of Civilizations. Huntington s main thesis was that the fundamental source of conflict
in this new world will not be primarily ideological or economic. The great divisions among
humankind and the dominating source of conflict will be cultural. This article was written in
1993. We will run the clock forward 23 years to the present in the year 2016. The first indications
after reading his essay was that the author would seem to be semi clairvoyant and provided a
fairly accurate assessment from an analytical perspective. He was, in my estimation, about 75
percent correct in his predictions and assessments, and his overall thesis can be supported through a
careful documentation of available facts, both then in 1993, and today. Huntington gives an
exposition of three phases of conflict starting in May and October of 1648, when the treaties were
signed in the Westphalian cities of Munster and Osnabruck ending the Thirty Years War in the Holy
Roman Empire, and the Eighty Years War that was between the Dutch Republic and Spain. These
treaties culminated in what we call the Peace of Westphalia. Nation state boundaries started to

National Security Requires a Clear Acknowledgement of the...
Introduction
To succeed, we must face the world as it is (Obama, 2010, p.1). Globalization has resulted in
interconnecting the world in such a manner that was unimaginable even two decades ago. No
longer can any state, nation, or people expect to remain an island. Indeed, as we are
interconnected, so too are our fates. If the United States is to ensure security and prosperity for
her citizens now and for future generations, we must clearly acknowledge that part we play in the
continuum of shifting word powers and peace. We must recognize that although we are the world s
leading power, we are not the sole possessor and arbiter of influence.
The nuclear arms race of the Cold War years has given way to a race for building alliances in this
age of globalization. If we are to be successful in our pursuit of a more peaceful and sustainable
world order, we must be cognizant of the opportunities to help fledgeling democracies take root. As
well, we must be aware of the more nefarious motives of nations for whom state intervention is
merely a thin veil for imperialistic ambitions. With this, we consider the recent events in Ukraine
and its impact on our national security.
Brief History of Ukraine
An independent country embroiled in civil war, Ukraine fell prey to attack from Soviet forces in
1921. The acquisition of the eastern two thirds of the state by Russia was considered crucial...to the

In the St. Louis metropolitan region there is a wide variety of grocery retailers, from which
consumers purchase their groceries. With many grocery stores spread throughout the regional area

I first started shopping at Aldi with my mom when I was a little girl. I didn t know it at the time,

Aldi is known as the stock up store. As I walked into my local all the store I noticed that all of

I do find my values to be important to me, but I am not one to push my values onto others

Overall this analysis of my personality seems to be pretty accurate with a few traits from the
ISFP category as well. Myers and Briggs created a personality test that not only will help people
to figure out their personality types, but at the same time it aids in the discovery of which
career pathways people should take based on their specific personality traits. Based on the
personality trait INFP that was given to me from the Myer Briggs test I have quite a few career
pathways that fit my personality. Some of the career choices suited to my personality is a

would suit my personality none of which are the career path that I have chosen; which is to

Globalization Is A For The Mass Movement Of Labor
Globalization currently constitutes for the mass movement of labor especially from developing to
developed nations. However, some aspects of globalization have resulted to the formation of
structures that have resulted to exploitation and domination of labor force (Mohanty, 2013).
Notably, when movement of labor is involved, issues about genderinequality arises and other
aspects such as sexism, and racism as facets of colonialism in the current global economic era. For
instance, women from developing countries are normally involved with the provision of childcare,
health care, and domestic services to developed countries that have high income countries. Even
though most of these women migrate at their own discretion, some of them have been subjected to
human trafficking to serve as domestic workers in foreign countries (Pyle, 2006).
According to Pyle (2006) trafficking occurs when a person is physically forced to migrate
unwillingly. In this case, the labor market has resulted to the formation of brokerage firms from
sending countries that serve the purpose of recruiting workers. The recruited workers are normally
promised better employment prospects abroad, only to be subjected to work on undesired jobs
(Pyle, 2006). Most of the women are brokered into different labor market segments depending on
their nationality. Such structures have formed cartels that control options and rights for workers
(Pyle, 2006). Accordingly, colonialism in the global economy arises from the

Django Reinhardt was born into the lifestyle of his gypsy parents on January 24th, 1910 in a
village of Belgium known as Liberchies. Django, Romani for I awake, has inspired and
astonished various generations of musicians and lovers of jazz with his remarkable control of
the guitar and the story of his upbringing. At just the age of eight, his parents moved near the
stretch of barricades that encompassed the streets of old Paris. Up until he was about twenty
years old, he had never really set down roots somewhere, worn a suit, or lived in a real house. These
French Gypsies, also known as Manouches, were living in a world of their own, primitive in their
way of thinking and skeptical of popular science. Django was raised in a lifestyle... Show more

The caravan was supplied with flowers made from celluloid and paper his new spouse had made
to sell at the local market the next day, which immediately ignited everything into flames.
Django was quick enough to wrap himself in a blanket to protect him from the flames and
somehow made it outside to safety along with his wife. However, his right leg was paralyzed
and two of his fingers on his left hand were badly burned. Doctors thought that he would never
make music again and planned to amputate one of his legs but he refused. He soon moved to a
nursing home where he was immobilized for eighteen months, but the care helped him enough to
save his leg. Throughout this time, he received another guitar and with great perseverance he
produced a brand new method of playing that was modeled around the two fingers on his left
hand that had the ability to move. The two fingers that were critically burned were curled towards
the palm permanently due to the tendons diminishing from the heat of the fire. He could utilize
them on the first two strings of the guitar for chords and octaves, but complete use of these fingers
was unattainable. This was no detriment to his talent and all of his soloing and improvisation was
done with his index and middle fingers, a true accomplishment. The few film clips that are

Analysis On Historical Period Of Song Essay
Introduction:
October 29, 1929, also known as Black Tuesday, the day America economic status strengths
change for the worse. October 29, 1929 was declared Black Tuesday, as it was the day the stock
market crashed. The day America lost billions of dollars, $14 billion to be exact and by the end
of 1932, $74 billion of wealth simply vanished (liberty, equality, power pg. 672). As a result,
unemployment rate increased as never before, 25 percent to be exact, according to US Statistic of
Labor and this was just the beginning of a new era. Below is a better understanding as how the
great depression took place in addition to how a simple song made broken Americans feel better.
II Analysis of Historical Period of Song:
During this difficult time, many Americans tried to balance with the transition of all the changes
happening caused by the great depression. Although for sure didn t characterize or yet represented
all the obstacles America were experiencing at the time, however, Brother, Can You Spare A Dime?
hit home for many Americans. Since the end of the year 1929, while the economy was descending,
the effects of it were noticed in many ways. From human distress, homelessness, starvation, and
most importantly, the loss of morale across the country. Brother, Can You Spare A Dime? made
sense to many, however. Individuals related the song to their suffering and desperation. People who
had sacrificed their whole lives into building their lives, family, and business to

Real Life Couple s Trouble in The Stockton Civic Theatre’s...
The Stockton Civic Theatre s production of Avenue Q last Thursday night depicts an accurate
portrayal of life after graduating from college. The protagonist is a fresh out of college puppet
named Princeton who is trying to seek a job and housing in the outer borough of New York City.
After finding a cheap and unoccupied room in an apartment located on Avenue Q, Princeton
befriends his neighbors who are made up of both people and puppets. Princeton meets and falls
in love with an elementary teacher, Kate Monster. Together they face the same real life
problems couples deal with in present times. Throughout the whole performance, Princeton is
constantly troubled about finding his purpose in life. Princeton, who is played by Jacob
Bronson has the ability to connect with the audience despite being visible holding the puppet on
stage. Bronson is not only a good actor, but also excels in his singing. He has a very loud and
distinctive voice which is proven in the beginning of the play, What Do You Do with a B.A. in
English? Kate Monster, who is played by Randi Linee also has the ability to connect with the
audience even though she is clearly visible holding the puppet. She gives Kate a very vibrant and
expressive character and uses hand movements to help show Kate s emotions. Kate s hand gestures
are not a big distraction unlike the other actors holding puppets. Linee s representation of the
emotion of being distraught over love is very realistic and makes the audience

Example Of Observation Of Basketball
For my second observation I went back to my elementary school from when I was younger and
observed a second grade physical education class and their teacher Mrs. McFarland. It was a
rainy day so the lesson was held in the cafeteria. I observed Mrs. McFarland teach the first lesson
of basketball to her class, before class she told me that this would be the first lesson of a 6 part
lesson. When the students walked into the cafeteria they immediately sat down in their assigned
spots on the floor, Mrs. McFarland stood up at the front of the room by the stage area and all the
students. When all the students were seated Mrs. McFarland gave a very brief explanation on what
the students would be doing that day and then they started with a warm up. During the warm up the
students started out galloping around the room to music and when the music stop she would shout
of jumping jacks and the students would do jumping jacks until the music came back on. They did
this warm up for about 5 minutes and then went back to their spots and sat down. Mrs. McFarland
went back to the front of the cafeteria and began to talk to the students about what they would be
doing. She gave a demonstration of the triple threatposition and then asked the students some
questions about what they saw her just do. Next, she had the children grab their our balls and come
back to their spotso that they could practice some ballhandling drills. They used their finger tips to
ping pong the ball from hand to hand,

Field Officer Training Report
As a kid Ben always wanted to be a teacher, but when he became a junior and senior he could see
people in his class getting into bad things like alcohol and drugs. When he saw those kids he
wanted to help and that s when he thought he would join some sort of law enforcement to have a
chance to help those kids that are going down the wrong path. Later after high schoolhe went to
collegeat Alexandria tech for two years but later found out that his credits would not transfer to
get a four year and higher so he went to CLC for two years and then transferred to St. Cloud for
his four year and then later on to get his masters. After that he went to a police office to work in
his area and started his fto training. Ben said that there are a lot of changes but the biggest is

Wilfred Nietzsche s Influence On Religion
Morgan Wakefield

Friedrich Nietzsche
Should society trust a man who claimed to be Jesus, Alexander the Great among other deities and
historical figures? Despite suffering from madness when claiming these identities, Friedrich
Wilhelm Nietzsche s works inspire many historical leaders and present day scholars including
Stalin, Hitler, and Mussolini. A 19th century German philosopher, he followed the beliefs of
atheism, moral skepticism, and relativism. Throughout his books he mocked Christianity while
promoting his own beliefs of morality, man reaching its potential, and society s killing of God
(Mastin).
On October 15, 1844, Nietzsche came into the world within the town of Röcken bei Lützen,

of doing what he perceived Christianity taught, to refuse and escape troubles (Mastin). ...Every
specific body strives to become master over all space and to extend its force (The Will to Power

as the basis drive in human behavior and as a positive device. Within his philosophy, Nietzsche
believed one could become an Гњbermensch, or a superhuman. For one to become this
superhuman, one must adhere to Nietzsche s own values. An Гњbermensch would be beyond

Why A Restaurant Should Be Paid At Home
Paying the bill is the least exciting part of dining out. After eating that wonderful meal, it is hard
to fork over any amount of money. Whether the destination of choice is McDonalds or Red
Lobster, it is still difficult to dispense money towards a meal that could have potentially been
replicated at home. Normally, the bill comes with an additional feethat adds on to the total cost of
the food. Gratuity is a way customers show their appreciation or disapproval of their server. It is a
direct reflection on how the customers perceived the performance of their servers. Some restaurants
have made a transition to including gratuity into the bill. Essentially taking away the grading scale
of the waiter or waitress. Tipping a server should be the decision of the consumer not the decision of
the restaurant. In the United States the minimum wageis $7.25 an hour, however for workers relying
on gratuity their wage drops to $2.13... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Depending on the impact the server makes most likely influences the amount of money the
customer is willing to tip the server. By having a tip system, a competitive environment is created
throughout the restaurant. Famous chef, Andrea Volpi, stated Gratuity is a direct reflection of the
guests experience with their server. Without the service included policy, the servers have more
incentive to give great service which, in turn, may increase their gratuity. Andrea Volpi generates
several points that support the claim of straying away from a check with a service fee. Servers are
not motivated when they are receiving minimum wage, the quality of their work decreases and the
satisfaction of the customer declines as well. Restaurants should comprehend the fact that by
having a tip incentive the service provided by their waiters and waitresses is severely different
then when a service fee is factored into the

The reactions of who? In his life what?). Nilda is a promiscuous girl who was the main character s
brother s girlfriend who represents a part of the main character s life. Nilda represents how both
men and women can be on the same level of equality. Nilda is part of the main character s life by

Nilda also have the attitude of being strong headed but also portrays the type of person that
needs love and affection from a guy. Nilda felt so relieved when she met her boyfriend Rafa. She
can achieve her goals, but she is experiencing some contradictions of achieving her goal. Rafa did
not show that he really cares about his girlfriend s future. Without the love and support she does
feel that she would not be able to make it (Don t end your sentences in prepositions. Rephrase).
Nilda also shows her toughness and hold back her tears. She hangs out with the guys and pleases
her boyfriend. She would do anything to make her boyfriend happy. Without that sense of
security, Nilda would not feel comfortable personally (awkward phrasing you need to rephrase
this. Maybe you can say she did not feel comfortable with her new personality due to the various
compromises she had to make for her boyfriend). Not being happy with one s self, causes an
individual to lose his or her true self. Nilda had judgments from her mother and Rafa about what
she wants to do for her future.
The author, Junot Diaz portrays, his feelings about life through his novel This is How You Lose
Her (You already said this! Too Repetative! Take it out or rephrase!). The author used a female
character Nilda. She showed how men and women can be equal in every respect such as dreams,
jobs, and class. Nilda would do anything to thrive throughout her life.

What Is D-Day In Canada
Juno was the landing area for the 3rd Canadian Division. The division was to assault the coast
through a line of small resort towns from Graye Sur Mer to St Aubin (Neillands Norman, 232).
There were different names for different sectors of the invasion. There was Mike Red and Mike
Green to the west side, and Nan Red , Nan Green , and Nan White to the east (Neillands Norman,
233). Landing on the beach there was the Royal Winnipeg Rifles, the Regina Rifle Regiment, the
Canadian Scottish Regiment, the Queen s Own Rifles of Canada, the French Canadian Regiment
de la Chaudiere and the North Shore (Chartwell, 52). Now D Day, or some call it Juno Beach, is a
defining moment and played a big role for Canadians in the development of their future in military
affairs. What makes it a defining moment is that Canada succeeded in their objectives, Canada
supported the mother country and alliesin this battle, and Canada fought the most in D Day. But for
Canada that was no problem.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Canadian landings on the beach were a great success and progressed farther inland than any unit
of their allies. The Americans and the British did manage to get ashore too, but with a varying
degree of difficulty (Douglas, 75). Overall, the Canadian invasion was going so well that by
1030 hours (10:30 am) Juno Beach Commander, Major General R.F. Keller, felt confident enough
to send a message to General Crerar (Douglas, 65). A troop of 1st Hussars tanks also helped
Canada succeed in their objectives by advancing 15km from the beach. They gained the reputation
of being the only Allied unit to capture their full planned final objective on D Day (Douglas,

The Importance Of Community Newspaper Website Managers
While anonymity, moderation, and the combination of allowing anonymity and moderating
comments did not result in additional interaction, there remain some elements to discuss.
Community newspaper website managers seem to place much more emphasis on moderation and
have a negative attitude toward anonymous comments, a finding that is not surprising based on
prior research (Nielsen, 2013). Therefore, this negative attitude toward anonymous commenting
could influence who chooses to commentand who does not, even on sites that might allow
anonymity. Previous research has indicated that some people will not comment without anonymity
(Ingram, 2011; Reader, 2012b; Trytko, 2015; Yun Park, 2011). Even if the sites allow anonymity,

Small towns might reduce people s willingness to comment even if anonymity is technologically
possible because some might believe their attitudes are easily identifiable (Tanis Postmes, 2007).
The more people interact the more information about themselves they provide even when
anonymous (Joinson, 2001; Tanis Postmes, 2007). While anonymity does make people feel more
comfortable in commenting (Meyer Speakman, 2016), people can at times identify others through
their ideas or language even without a name (Joinson, 2001; Tanis Postmes, 2007). Anonymity may
be an idea that finds support in numbers, and small communities simply might not possess the
necessary populations for people to feel able to hide in the background regardless of if they the
comment might occur in a community of place, virtual community or hybrid community. However,
it is also important to remember that regardless of website design or other factors, there exists only
a small percentage of readers willing to comment online (Chung Nah, 2009; Larsson, 2011).
This study supports the idea that there is no simple formula that community media websites can use
to create engagement and gain participation from the public. Moderating comments, allowing
anonymity, or the use of Facebook to post each have minor influences on the willingness of people
to comment on news stories within community newspaper websites. While

How Does Temperature Affect The Combustion Of A Copper...
There is no doubt that the experiment could have yielded better results, as high error
percentages were prevalent. However, this magnitude of error does have its sources. Some of
the sources are given below: 1) Around 90% of the heat from the spirit lamp did not reach the
base of the tripod stand itself. This was the main reason of error. Heat was lost very easily. A lot
of heat was lost in this manner and contributed to a lower than expected temperature change in the
water. This was undoubtedly, the main source of experimental error. 2) Although, the copper
calorimeter was properly insulated, heat loss was prevalent. The lid had a hole to allow the
thermometer to be placed inside. This meant heat could be lost in this manner as well. 3) The...

This is the sign of the incomplete combustion of alcohols. As a result, carbon monoxide is
formed instead of carbon dioxide. Therefore, this incomplete combustion results in low standard
enthalpy of combustion values as the reaction is not complete. 5) During calculations, the
specific heat capacity of the copper calorimeter was not included. This is wrong. The copper
beaker did absorb some heat from the spirit lamp. This should have been added onto the heat
energy absorbed by the water. Due its absence, a lot of heat was absorbed through the copper
calorimeter itself, and this was not calibrated. These sources of error could have been prevented
at the first place. The random errors can be prevented in that manner. However, the systematic
errors need to be corrected as well. Therefore, the method of the experiment can be evaluated
further. 1) This experiment could have been carried out at a place of constant temperature. 2) The
calorimeter could have been insulated more. A thick cotton wool could have been added. 3) The
presence of draught shields would have helped reduce heat loss. 4) Use a digital thermometer to

Because of the oppressiveness of the Islamic Government, the Regime not only wanted to control its

products, banning parties, regulating clothing, and not allowing PDA. All products that resembled

also had to control its citizens, and it did this by rounding up all of the people who were publically
opposed to the Regime, and executed them all completely. The governmentwas based on scaring the
people, oppressive laws, and torture like enforcement; this is what really pushed its citizens away.
However, the enforcement of rules for the public and private space of citizens was the real catalyst
for demonstrations, the divide between the Regime and its citizens, and the revolution all together.
Without the enforcement and establishment of these rules, the Iranian people would not have
experienced the depressing environment of the Regime. Satrapi compares the peacefulness and

Business Process Redesign or Reengineering
Business Process Redesign or Reengineering
Business Process Redesign (BPR) or Reengineering is the fundamental rethinking and radical
redesign of business processes to achieve dramatic improvements in critical, contemporary
measures of performance, such as cost, quality, service, and speed (Hammer and Champy,
Reengineering). Since the BPR idea has surfaced it has been under constant ridicule by the popular
press.
They say it takes far too long, creates management headaches, fails 70% of the time, and it s only
for big companies with big checkbooks (Hydrel...). However,
I feel that with the right plan, the right people, and total commitment from those involved, BPR or

Debates Of Euthanasia And Physician-Assisted Suicide
1.The current debates of euthanasia
Euthanasia and physician assisted suicide are acts that strike at the heart of what it means to be
human the moral acts that make us who we are, or better, who we ought to be. Debates about the
ethics of euthanasia date back from ancient Greece and Rome and has become more and more well
known in the present time.
In order to deal with the question of euthanasia properly, it is first necessary to define it. Generally,
euthanasia requires the physician to perform a medical procedure that causes death directly.
Euthanasia should clearly be defined as a deliberate act or omission that causes death, undertaken
by one person with the primary intention of ending the life of another person, in order to relieve

  • 2. The Ideal of a Man The Ideal of a Woman of the Heian... The ideal of a man and the ideal of a woman of the Heian court differs significantly from what people of our modern society might consider ideal, but that is to be expected as our modern society has had much time to be exposed to and affected by the influences of many different cultures viewpoints. In comparison, the Heian court was a more closed society, so back then, the notions of what was acceptable and unacceptable and the standards to which men and women were measured were more defined. Genji monogatari suggests the standards to which the sexes should be measured and gives examples of people who meet the standards. It goes without saying that Genji, the hero of the tale, is the perfect man. Throughout the tale, every character,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He obeyed, among others, the convention of sending poems to women after staying the night with them. Genji was a prodigy when it came to the playing the kin, and he could even play the sЕЌ no koto. Judging by the way that he was portrayed, I would not be surprised if there was not an instrument that he could not play. When Genji and TЕЌ no ChЕ«jЕЌ performed Blue Sea Waves, although TЕЌ no ChЕ«jЕЌ was very skillful in his dancing as if he had rehearsed many times, Genji was still the person who drew all of the attention from their audience. Genji s dance was so elegant, and his voice was so beautiful that it was likened to the kalavinka, the bird that sings in paradise. Genji s prowess with painting was also out of this world. The picture contest in chapter 17 ended immediately after his paintings were revealed, even though the previous contenders were expert painters brought in specifically for the competition. His paintings were renderings of Suma and Akashi the places where he had spent his time in exile. Seeing paintings that captured the essence of the faraway place that Genji had gone to brought tears to everyone s eyes as they were filled once again with feelings surrounding the despair brought on by Genji s absence. The manner in which Genji treated his many lovers was another quality that made him such a great man. He took pity on women for their shortcomings and trespasses against him rather than hating and blaming them. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Organized Religion Exposed in Richard Wright’s Native Son... Organized Religion Exposed in Richard Wright s Native Son If the United States were to adopt a Communist government, it would be a better country. If Americans were to dispose of religion, they would be content people. If Richard Wright were to complete an assignment regarding the context of his novel, Native Son, the aforementioned arguments would be his focus. Wright, like all Marxists, believes that religion is the opiate of the masses, providing a surreal dream world with negative side effects. The representation of organized religion in Native Son supports Wright s highly atheistic, Communistic views and his aspirations for the United States. By negatively using conventional religious symbols, such as the cross, prayer, God, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Although Bigger s character refutes the concept of religion, Wright compares him to a struggling Jesus Christ throughout the novel; society is to learn from Bigger s example that capitalism is the core evil of the country, just as Christians look to Christ to delineate between sin and salvation. Bigger s interactions with the Daltons mirror those of Jesus throughout the Stations of the Cross. Bigger s initial visit to the Dalton home foreshadows his death because the setting mimics that of the crucifixion; all at once...the sky [turns] black (48), as it does while Jesus hangs upon the cross on Good Friday. When Bigger first visits the Dalton home, he slip[s] back (51) into his chair, just as Jesus falls while carrying his cross to Mount Calvary; this scene represents the persecution in store for Bigger by those families who, like the Daltons, consider themselves religious. Even during the murder and burning of the body of Mary Dalton, Bigger s actions parallel Christ s. Similar to Christ s struggle with the cross upon his back, Bigger stoop[s] and ca[tches] the strap of Mary s trunk and carrie[s] it downstairs (103) with her body inside, and the murder of Mary becomes Bigger s cross, upon which he is executed. Similarly, prayer reappears within Native Son in order to prove the unimportance of God and the ineffectiveness of belief. The rat remains dead ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Protect Pollinator Populations Why Regulations Are Needed to Protect Pollinator Populations Currently, an estimated 3.2 million tons of pesticides are used each year (Hicks, 2012). Pesticides are normally misused by people with little knowledge or care for their harmful effects. Without effective enforcement of regulations, pesticides are easily spread beyond their projected areas. According to research, the overuse of pesticides causes many human diseases, animal diseases, and disruptions in our ecosystem. Well defined regulations, along with consumer education, could limit the misuse of pesticides and protect our fragile pollinator populations from continued decline to help ensure future food sources for many generations to come. Multiple pesticide products used by homeowners have manufacture recommended rates for applications 120x higher than rates for agriculture crops (Jennifer Hopwood, 2012). An estimated 2.2 million people are at risk due to exposure from agricultural pesticides, with the majority of this population being located in developing nations (Hicks, 2012). Most people affected by pesticides contract them by consuming food contaminated with a high concentration of pesticides. Despite the age of the sport, the National Hockey League (or NHL) has only been in the United States for ninety three years. The NHL had set a basis for the game and also supported the rise of many teams and secured a forever spot in sports history. The first American team to be incorporated into the national league, the Boston Bruins, have been one of the longest standing teams in US history. The Bruins trailed 1 0 after the first period, they rallied back in the second frame, scoring two goals en route to defeating their fellow expansionists 2 1 ( Boston Bruins Host NHL s First Game In U.S ). The score of the game seemed to be a strong start for the newborn team, however, it was just the beginning of their downfall. • 7. Orlando s Theory Of The Deliberative Nursing Process Critique Analysis This section presents an analysis of Orlando s theory. The central thesis of the Theory of the Deliberative Nursing Process is finding out and meeting the patient s immediate need for help. The concepts and propositions of the theory are written at a concrete level of discussion (Fawcett, Desanto Madeya, 2013). The theory is classified as a middle range predicative theory. The theory identifies the effects of a specific interpersonal nursing process on identification of the patient s immediate need for help. origins. Ida Jean Orlando was born in 1929. She obtained her diploma in nursing from New York Medical College, her Bachelor of Science in public health nursing from St. John s University and Masters in mental health nursing at Columbia University (Current Nursing, 2013). She was an Associate Professor at Yale School of Nursing and Director of the Graduate Program in Mental Health Psychiatric Nursing (Current Nursing, 2013). Orlando published her book The Dynamic Nurse Patient Relationship in 1961. Orlando does not credit any theoretical sources in the development of her theory (Necor, 2014, p. 5). She formulated the deliberative nursing process from the considerable amount of data she recorded on nurse patient observations. She evaluated facts from those observations to develop her theory. Orlando proclaimed that her theory is valid and applied it in her work with patients and nurses and the teaching of students (Necor, 2014, p. 5). unique focus. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Hamlet s Grief Tis not alone my inky cloak, good mother, / nor customary suits of solemn black / [ . . . ] but I have that within which passeth show; / these but the trappings and the suits of woe (Shakespeare 1.2.76 73, 85 86) says Hamlet when confronted about his way of grieving over his father s recent death. Shakespeare s play Hamletis a remarkable tale that is centered on the idea of death and grief. While death is a universal occurrence, meaning every person will deal with it, how we grieve after a loss is completely individual. To look at a formula of grief, most turn to the five stages of grief developed by Elizabeth Kubler Ross, a psychiatrist, who studied the topic in her book On Death and Dying. This model consists of denial, anger,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This idea of acceptance of death proven in Hamlet s line to Horatio after being challenged to a fencing match with Laertes, if it be now, / tis not to come; if it be not to come, it will be now; / if it be not now, yet it will come. The readiness is / all. Since no man of aught he leaves knows, what / is t to leave betimes? Let be (5.2.221 225). This is an important line in the play because it shows Hamlet s acceptance of death in his own terms and everyone else s, meaning if it is supposed to happen, it will. This also shows Hamlet s acceptance of his destiny when concerning death and revenge. At the end of the play, when Hamlet is dying from the poisoned sword, he does not grieve or think of what will happen to his spirit. Instead he moves on by passing on his vote for Fortinbras and requesting that his story be passed on by Horatio (5.2.349, 356 357). This desire to move on shows the acceptance of Hamlet s faith, and the final stage of the Kubler Ross model. Throughout Shakespeare s play Hamlet, the characters clearly describe the grief they are experiencing through their poetic lines. Using the Kubler Ross model, the audience can dissect the grief process to better understand Hamlet s intentions. In the play, Hamlet experiences strong emotions concerning grief, including his examples of depression, anger, and finally, acceptance. The play shows that while the model was created in 1969, the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Here Amleth directly knew that his uncle was guilty quite in contrast to Hamlet s case and Amleth s life was in great danger also in contrast to Hamlet s as his uncle Claudius was fond of his nephew. He takes good care of him and calls him his son as well. There is no great apparent danger to Hamlet s life from Claudius until he is aware that Hamlet knows of his devilish act of murdering the King Hamlet. In the case of Amleth he had every reason to act as if he were mad because that was necessary to him to accomplish his duty of avenging his father s murder. It is hard to understand why Hamlet pretends madness when he could have done what he had to with great ease and no one would have objected to Claudius dethronement as Claudius was not popular with his people, which is quite evident from the fact that Laertes could raise a public revolt against the king so boldly. In Amleth s case it was completely different, his uncle had complete support in the coup. And A.C.Bradley further observes that Shakespeare was not properly able to link all the portions of Amleth s story into Hamlet . The other way of analyzing Hamlet is from the play itself. This is the most fascinating part and it makes the most interesting reading. First and foremost we must go to the backdrop in which the play is set and the introduction of Hamlet into the play. • 10. Newsworthiness of Child Abuse Cases Society is now what Downing, Mohammadi and Mohammadi (1990) would call a media culture , this is where the perceptions and images of reality are often shaped by the actions and decisions of news editors and producers (Surrette, 1992). The role of the media according to O Shaughnessy and Stadler (2008) is to give the public an insight on what is happening in the world and to make sense of that information to the public. The main focus of this essay will be looking two main concepts which are newsworthiness and the dark figure of crime, relating 5 news articles that are centred around child abusethat have featured in the New Zealand Herald and stuff.co.nz. The media plays an important role in society by creating and shaping society s attitudes about most current issues including child abuse. In New Zealand, as well as in the international media, the physical abuse of a child regularly features in the newspapers, magazines, radio and television (Merchant, 2010). When it comes to the public understanding of child abuse, this is influenced by the knowledge that they gain through reading newspapers or mass media like the television or radio. Kitzinger (2004) states that our individual view and sense of the world are a social construct and the media are an important resource to help us construct that world view. The way that child abuse is reported in the media has become what you would call entertainment where there seems to be an incline towards dramatising child abuse in a ... • 11. The Importance Of Disengaged Students In Education Teachers have been struggling with disengaged students for decades. In order to make any positive strides in American education, educators need to focus on the one factor that can illuminate the reasons for disengagement, the student. For the purposes of this paper, disengaged students are the ones who do not exhibit active learning skills during a class period in school. These learners may over socialize with peers, use digital devices throughout class, cut classes, leave class frequently, sleep, or fail to submit in class and out of class assignments. In 2001, President Bush signed the No Child Left Behind Act, instilling hope that the federal government could better hold K 12 schools accountable for all students to have proficient academic outcomes (Klein, 2017). President Obama made changes to the No Child Left Behind Act when 42 states needed waivers due to not reaching the proficiency expectation. In 2015, the Every Student Succeeds Act was enacted. This Act provides states with more flexibility in order to help students meet proficiency. The Act also provides resources to secondary institutions that struggle to meet graduation requirements ( ESSA Overview, 2017). In an effort to align educationacross America, states could opt into utilizing the Common Core State Standards beginning in 2009. This academic overhaul became the national effort in organizing education in America by standardizing what is learned and when in K 12 schools. Currently, 42 states and the ... In 1997, the United Nations partnered up with the United Nations Children s Fund (UNICEF) and the United NationsPopulation Fund (UNFPA) in anticipating advancing the abandonment. These funds have attended conferences to discuss the most effective and efficient way to abolish the mutilation. The KMG led to such a decrease by focusing mainly on conversations in the communities to discuss social issues. Ethiopian citizens have been trained to educate the public and convene with organizations that will help. FGM in Ethiopia has decreased by 10 percent in 2016. The country has also incorporated the 2015 Demographic and Health Survey and Child, Early and Forced Marriage to control the situation. Solutions: Female Genital Mutilation is one of the biggest health threats to women in the world. It discriminates against their right to health and security. Ethiopia notices this world problem and proposes solutions leading to the elimination of the practice. First, Ethiopia proposes to spread awareness all over the world. In undeveloped countries, this will be done by partnering up with NGO s including: Save the Children, V Day, Worldvision, and Equality Now. This practice is believed to be decreased and eventually stopped by educating the sovereignty of the dangers and threats FGM conceives. Respected locals would be encouraged to educate not only the women on the harmful effects, however also boys and men, the public, faith leaders, and health professionals. For the public to act and comprehend this, the speakers must be trusted and efficient. The public will be taught how to avoid pressure of being accepted from the community and doubt how FGM is necessary to become suitable for marriage. By ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 13. Descriptive And Rhythmic Components Of Speech Across... Suprasegmental variables are the melodic and rhythmic components of speech across segmental boundaries, also called prosody. They can affect intelligibility as well as imply additional meaning. The main variables are intonation, stress, and rhythm. These deal with pitch, prominence, and length across a phrase, respectively, although each of these variables have significant interconnections. Intonation is the suprasegmental factor that can greatly affect the meaning of a phrase. An intonation pattern is a measure of how pitch varies across a phrase. Specific patterns, like rising pitch at the end of a phrase, can imply a question and other patterns can imply other meanings. Intonation can also inform the listener as to when the speaker is finished talking by raising or lowering pitch at the end of a phrase. Monopitch, or lack of intonation, produces a reduction in intelligibility. When studying pitch related to speech a conversion from frequency to semitones is often calculated because this gives an equalized representation across male/female speakers. • 14. A Farewell Of Arms, By Ernest Hemingway Major events throughout history have resulted from human desire for fulfillment by instituting war, preaching religion, and glorifying love. In A Farewell to Arms, Ernest Hemingway introduces Frederic Henry, an American in the Italian Army during World War I. Frederic Henry s attempts to find his meaning in life, are represented by his attempts to discover the possibilities in war, religion, and love. He does this through his friendship with a Catholic priest, his intense love affair with nurse Catherine Barkley, who ends up pregnant with his child and eventually dies during labor, along with their child, and finally with his position as Lieutenant during the war. Throughout A Farewell to Arms, Ernest Hemingwayrepeatedly mentions games in war, love, and religion, to illustrate his belief that humans use these as a way to play with and hopefully reach fulfillment but also use them as a distraction from the inevitable ending: death. Hemingway s repeated allusions to games in war, and his portrayal of Henry s attitude about war from beginning to end of the novel shift dramatically; illustrating that war is used as a tool or a game by humans to enrich their lives and avoid death, while systematically stealing the lives of others. From disinterest, to realization, and finally reflection, Henry experiences diverse changes in his ideals concerning war. At first Henry decides that I would not be killed... • 15. Mayan Calendar Research Paper There are around forty different calendars used in the world today, usually for determining pious or religious events. Many countries like the United States use the Gregorian calendar for their official and modern activities which they are able to keep everyone organized. Over a thousand years ago in the fifth century the Mayans came out with the first calendars. There are three types of basic calendars that are being used today they are solar, lunar and the lunisolar/solilunar calendars. A solar calendar can be identified by the Sun. This calendar is also based on Earths orbit around the Sun. Lunar calendars are based on the moonrotation around the Earth. This type of calendar is used usually for religious dates or purposes (InpaperMagazine 2013). On the other hand, lunisolar or solilunar calendars connect the two kinds and is basically solar calendars with dates indicating a moon phase. The oldest known calendar was made by the Mayans. The Mayans of Central America relied not only on the Sun and moon, but also on the planet Venus (Misiroglu 2010). They were very intelligent in mathematics and in astronomy. • 16. The, The Infernal Machine, And Ubu Roi By Alfred Jarry In the three plays that we have discussed in class, Antigone by Jean Anouilh, The Infernal Machine by Jean Cocteau, and Ubu Roi by Alfred Jarry, there is a prodigious depiction of female characters and power that come in numerous ways. In The Infernal Machine there are female characters, such as Jocasta and the Sphinx, who show power and authority. Likewise, in Antigone, characters, such as Antigone and her sister, Ismene, also show power and supremacy. In Ubu Roi, the main character that showed power through rule was Mere Ubu. From being a woman of authority, to rebelling against men with a greater authority than them, to doing what you want no matter if it was right or wrong for the people, these characters truly show what it is to be a woman of power in one way or another. Characters in both plays display power in innumerable means, and it shows the leadership of women. John C. Maxwell once said, A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way. Women in these plays do what they can to show power, in their each individual ways. In Cocteau s The Infernal Machine, Oedipusis the main character of the play showing power, but the women in the play also depict power in additional ways. One example is Jocasta, the mother of Oedipus, with her title being the first symbol of power since she is known as the queen of Thebes. • 17. Narrative Style And Film Analysis Of The Grand Budapest Hotel The Grand Budapest Hotel revolves around Europe of the 1930s and 1960s while it was in time of the war, through the adventures of The Grand Budapest Hotel s doorman Zero and the Hotel manager Gustave. The saga is linked to a burglar and a Renaissance painting, a great family s wealth war, and the sudden change of war in Europe. It reflects the vicissitudes of political history in Europe for half a century. This article will analyze The Grand Budapest Hotel from two aspects: artistic style and film theme. I. Artistic style The Grand Budapest Hotel is the work of American director Wes Anderson. His works have a strong personal style: bright colour, the full symmetry of the composition, a straight frame, a deliberately orderly stance, unique visual style and narrative mode. In his film, a sense of humour is often through Deadpan expression: actors often deadpan and no body movements, but in the restraint and slight change, as well as in the pause between the odd cold humour. The hues, props and sets of his films are often colourful and whimsical. There are still plenty of these factors in The Grand Budapest Hotel, but many new elements are added. 1. Narrative mode In terms of the overall structure of the film, this film breaks through the previous single line narrative mode, using four layers of nested narrative structure, layer by layer, and without any lack of independence. The first level is a little girl went to the cemetery to worship writer s grave, she put the key to hanging on the writer statue, and took out a book called The Grand Budapest Hotel , she turned to the end of the book, the book was printed with pictures of writer; the second level is the story of the girl who began to pay tribute to the author in the cemetery. The third level is in The Grand Budapest Hotel, where old Zero tells his story to a young man. Time and space returned to Zero when Zero was young, and this began the journey of Zero and Mr. Gustave, this is the fourth level of narrative mode. Skip the middle specific storyline and go straight to the end. Gustave s last moments are in black and white. Then, when the writer was young, he ended his conversation with Zero, and the writer was sitting in the lobby of The Grand ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Surrounded by more people of the white origin, where she begins to feel the feeling of being different Colored . Neale uses a very descriptive word choice and attention grabbing metaphors to help portray her belief That it doesn t matter the shade nor colorof an individual s skin, when judged based on personal morals and the desire of one s wellbeing we do not differ so much at all and in fact we all share similar characteristics. Zora helps bring to light the social indifferences a colored personmay have felt in those times. I believe her work helps portray that given the short end of the stick, life is what you make it; and how you perceive things. Once an individual has self happiness theirs not a person or thing that can take that away from them. Some of these powerful influences include the Huns, Ottomans, and Austrians. These three forces left their mark on Europe, once they were no more. Whether it is military tactics, or political ideas, without them Europewouldn t be what it is today. So who really were the Huns, the Ottomans, and the Austrians? What made them so powerful that they influenced Europe s course in history as a whole? The earliest were the Huns, one of the most feared groups in all of history. They were nomads that used their unique war tactics to demolish any tribe or civilization in their way. . In Europe the Huns fought and defeated the German Goths of Eastern Europe, the Slavs, the Franks from France, and even the Roman Empire, plus and many others. The Huns settled in the area that is now called Hungary. They caused so much fear and chaos that even the rumor of one of their attacks would cause a community to travel elsewhere. They traveled westward out of China. They left a clear path, on their way to the west, of panic and devastation. It is even thought that the Great Wall of China was built as a precaution of a Hunnish attack. The reason they were so feared was their strong and cunning military forces. They were all skilled bowmen who rode on intimidating horses. This put all their enemies at a disadvantage, which proved successful for the Huns. Even though bows were ... According to the Office for National Statistics (ONS), from December 2013 to December 2014, the amount of recorded sexual offences has risen by 32 percent to 80,262 for England and Wales (ONS, 2015:13). The most serious cases of sex offending will result in a custodial sentence. From 2005 to 2011 the proportion of offenders who received a custodial sentence for committing sexual offences is between 55 and 59 percent (ibid, 41). Custody is an immediate way of protecting the public from the future risks posed by a serious sexual offender. However, at some point of the offender s custodial sentence, it is likely that they will be granted their right to parole; and eventually will be released into the community. Furthermore, the less serious sexual offenders who receive suspended sentences, community sentences, or fines are also dealt with in the community and therefore put the public at immediate risk of harm. Although the risks can never be fully eliminated, it is extremely important that the amount of risk imposed on society is kept to a minimum (Harrison, 2011:78). The Clash Of Civilizations By Samuel Huntington This essay addresses the question of how, if at all, does the trend of intra state conflicts among groups that have far outnumbered state vs. state conflicts, and if that trend in internal conflict within states over the last 20 years supports Samuel Huntington s major hypothesis in his essay The Clash of Civilizations. Huntington s main thesis was that the fundamental source of conflict in this new world will not be primarily ideological or economic. The great divisions among humankind and the dominating source of conflict will be cultural. This article was written in 1993. We will run the clock forward 23 years to the present in the year 2016. The first indications after reading his essay was that the author would seem to be semi clairvoyant and provided a fairly accurate assessment from an analytical perspective. He was, in my estimation, about 75 percent correct in his predictions and assessments, and his overall thesis can be supported through a careful documentation of available facts, both then in 1993, and today. Huntington gives an exposition of three phases of conflict starting in May and October of 1648, when the treaties were signed in the Westphalian cities of Munster and Osnabruck ending the Thirty Years War in the Holy Roman Empire, and the Eighty Years War that was between the Dutch Republic and Spain. These treaties culminated in what we call the Peace of Westphalia. Nation state boundaries started to become more prevalent and used in a more ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 35. National Security Requires a Clear Acknowledgement of the... Introduction To succeed, we must face the world as it is (Obama, 2010, p.1). Globalization has resulted in interconnecting the world in such a manner that was unimaginable even two decades ago. No longer can any state, nation, or people expect to remain an island. Indeed, as we are interconnected, so too are our fates. If the United States is to ensure security and prosperity for her citizens now and for future generations, we must clearly acknowledge that part we play in the continuum of shifting word powers and peace. We must recognize that although we are the world s leading power, we are not the sole possessor and arbiter of influence. The nuclear arms race of the Cold War years has given way to a race for building alliances in this age of globalization. If we are to be successful in our pursuit of a more peaceful and sustainable world order, we must be cognizant of the opportunities to help fledgeling democracies take root. As well, we must be aware of the more nefarious motives of nations for whom state intervention is merely a thin veil for imperialistic ambitions. With this, we consider the recent events in Ukraine and its impact on our national security. Brief History of Ukraine An independent country embroiled in civil war, Ukraine fell prey to attack from Soviet forces in 1921. Myers and Briggs created a personality test that not only will help people to figure out their personality types, but at the same time it aids in the discovery of which career pathways people should take based on their specific personality traits. Based on the personality trait INFP that was given to me from the Myer Briggs test I have quite a few career pathways that fit my personality. Notably, when movement of labor is involved, issues about genderinequality arises and other aspects such as sexism, and racism as facets of colonialism in the current global economic era. For instance, women from developing countries are normally involved with the provision of childcare, health care, and domestic services to developed countries that have high income countries. Even though most of these women migrate at their own discretion, some of them have been subjected to human trafficking to serve as domestic workers in foreign countries (Pyle, 2006). According to Pyle (2006) trafficking occurs when a person is physically forced to migrate unwillingly. In this case, the labor market has resulted to the formation of brokerage firms from sending countries that serve the purpose of recruiting workers. The recruited workers are normally promised better employment prospects abroad, only to be subjected to work on undesired jobs (Pyle, 2006). Most of the women are brokered into different labor market segments depending on their nationality. Such structures have formed cartels that control options and rights for workers (Pyle, 2006). Django Reinhardt was born into the lifestyle of his gypsy parents on January 24th, 1910 in a village of Belgium known as Liberchies. Django, Romani for I awake, has inspired and astonished various generations of musicians and lovers of jazz with his remarkable control of the guitar and the story of his upbringing. At just the age of eight, his parents moved near the stretch of barricades that encompassed the streets of old Paris. Up until he was about twenty years old, he had never really set down roots somewhere, worn a suit, or lived in a real house. However, his right leg was paralyzed and two of his fingers on his left hand were badly burned. Doctors thought that he would never make music again and planned to amputate one of his legs but he refused. He soon moved to a nursing home where he was immobilized for eighteen months, but the care helped him enough to save his leg. Throughout this time, he received another guitar and with great perseverance he produced a brand new method of playing that was modeled around the two fingers on his left hand that had the ability to move. The two fingers that were critically burned were curled towards the palm permanently due to the tendons diminishing from the heat of the fire. He could utilize them on the first two strings of the guitar for chords and octaves, but complete use of these fingers was unattainable. This was no detriment to his talent and all of his soloing and improvisation was done with his index and middle fingers, a true accomplishment.
