It’s important to get a detailed floor plan of your
new location to evaluate how you will organize your
new space. It’s the best m om ent to m odernize your
team and m aking sure all types of outlets, ports and
internet access are sm artly setup.
With an office m ove, you can’t do it alone. You need
to designate a leader in each departm ent that will
be responsible for following up with boxes, colors
codes and m aterials throughout the m ove.
When designing your new place, you need to m ake
sure you have experts on location to com plete the
wiring for electrical and internet. This can take m ore
tim e than you m ight think and its best to plan
ahead.

Each department should have an assigned
colour code for easier identification of the
boxes and inventory. e.g. Marketing=Purple,
Finance=Yellow
It’s im portant to brief the building’s
m anagem ent about the date of your m ove
and to also reserve an elevator where needed.
This will allow your m ove to be m ore
stream lined and better planned.
This is where you talk with your IT
departm ent to check what tech is needed for
the m ove.

with a colour, each em ployee should have an
ID num ber assigned to his desk and inventory
to m ake sure the m overs keep things together.
Make sure you have a detailed floor plan
ready with your m over so they can organize

locations.
Make sure all the perm its, licenses and any
needed paperwork is ready prior to the m ove.
