This document summarizes a student project to design and build a solar-powered electric vehicle called Octavius. A team of 5 students designed and fabricated Octavius under a professor's guidance. Key objectives were to build a vehicle powered by adjustable solar panels with a 50km range. Technical specifications show Octavius weighs 273kg, has a 48V 50Ah battery, 900W BLDC motor, and can travel 50km on a full charge at up to 32kph. Diagrams show the solar-powered electrical transmission system and fabrication process. The finished Octavius design is presented and compared to an e-rickshaw.
