economy there are two sectors, the public and private. The private sector, by
definition, is the part of a nation s economy that isn t controlled by the
government.(Investorwords). Several business organizations make up the private
sector with the three basic ones being sole proprietorships, partnerships, and
corporations. Most are for profit and part of that profit goes to the government in the
form of taxes. The private sector can be referred to as a market. Markets operate by

There is a key ingredient missing in the bottled water we drink and it is putting us at
serious health risks. This missing element is Magnesium. Our recent switch from tap
to bottled water has left 72% of our population magnesium deficient (Blackburn 1).
However, our population doesn t know about this current danger, they have been
lulled into believing that bottled water is healthy.
There are 150,000 deaths per year being caused by magnesium deficiency (United 4).
That calculates to one death every 2.5 minutes. In fact, a small city population dies
each year because they are magnesium deficient.
When you are magnesium deficient, your cholesterol is raised, you absorb more
saturated fatty acids, you decrease fecal excretion of saturated fatty acids and
cholesterol and you decrease myocardial concentrations of magnesium (Current 141).
There are also many signs of magnesium deficiency; nausea, confusion, delirium,
muscle weakness, irritability and electrical changes in the heart muscle.
Magnesium deficiency also causes atherosclerosis, ischemic heart disease,

Whenever an inmate gets incarcerated or is found guilty for a conviction, many of
their rights go away except for a select few. The few rights that prisoners get to
keep are, but are not limited to, visitation rights, mail services, religious gatherings
and studies, medical treatment and care, and access to courts and legal assistance.
These services help inmates stay in touch with society and help inmates get treated
fairly throughout the facility (Santillan, 2010). In 1969, there were approximately
300,000 people incarcerated in federal, state, and county jails or prisons. Today that
number surpasses 2.4 million and to add to it, there are approximately 4 million
under parole or probation (People s Law Office).
There can be pros and cons to prisoner rights. Some of the pros are attention drawn to
physical and psychological issues of inmates, environmental conditions, and medical
needs (Santillan, 2010). A con would be the security and safety of the prison
(Santillan, 2010). Contraband could be brought into the prison facility during
visitation or throughout the mail service. Also, prison mail could contain secret
coded escape plans. Prison mail can be read but not censored (Santillan, 2010). Even
though there are benefits and costs, prisoners have rights and will continue to have
rights. Inmates have basic rights awarded to them while incarcerated. Inmates in

The Pirates of Penzance was an opera performed by the Southwest Texas Opera
Workshop. The Pirates of Penzance, composed by Gilbert amp; Sullivan, is a light
hearted parody of the traditional opera. This opera takes place somewhere in the
British Virgin Islands. It is about a boy, Federic, who is to be apprenticed by his
nurse, Ruth, to become a pilot. Ruth mistakes the word pilot for pirate and
apprentices him to a band of pirates. She, too, remains with them as a maid of all
work.
Act I opens with the celebration of Frederic s coming of age. He is planning to

The Friday, January 29 performance that I attended contained many extraordinary
performances, especially that of Frederic, Mabel, the Major General Stanley and the
Pirate King. Although the entire cast was good, these performances stood out the
most.
Matthew Kendrick did a wonderful job as Frederic. His voice was smooth and
clear, though a bit soft. His quieter voice made it difficult to understand most of the
words he was singing, especially when his back was to the audience. He seemed a
little uneasy on stage by himself, but his chemistry when on stage with Pam
Brumley, who played the part of Mabel, was outstanding. What Kendrick lacked in
sound she made up for with her strong, crisp voice. Their voices blended together
nicely during their
