Supreme Court Case Brief
QADEER, MAHUM, Opinion of the Court SUPREME COURT OF THE UNITED STATES
Utah v Strieff Argued: February 22, 2016 Decided: TBD In Utah a Detective by the name of
Douglas Fackrell received a tip of the whereabouts of drug activity taking place. Fackrell over a
course of some days watched the house, where he concluded that there was in fact suspicious drug
activity taking place. The man who exited the house went by the name of Strieff, who the detective
decided to stop and question. By taking Streiff s I.D., Fackrell discovered a traffic warrant meant
for Strieff. Under this warrant, the detective then arrested Strieff, and then conducted a search on
Strieff due to the arrest. Due to this search, Fackrell found meth and a drug pipe inside... Show more

United States (1963) the Supreme Court found that the evidence obtained following unlawful
police conduct may still be admissible, unless the evidence was not come about in a way of poor
conduct. However, this was found excusable if the evidence acquired post the rest was irrelevant
to the police conduct. In this case, Wong Sun wrote an unsigned confession, which was established
to not be the fruit of the arrest. Therefore, the confession then was eligible to be used in trial. Toy,
another man under the suspicion of narcotics, was arrested under an unlawful warrant. The man
was searched by an unlawful warrant, this action becomes the fruit of the arrest. Hence, this was
not permitted to be used in court as incriminating evidence. Similarly, in Utah v. Strieff, Strieff was
arrested for a traffic warrant, which was found through an unlawful stop. Subsequently, this issued
the search of Strieff s person. The precedent case demonstrates that the original arrest was for the
traffic warrant, this causes the warrant to be the fruit of the arrest. The search proceeding the
arrest, found evidence that is not the fruit of the arrest, and the exclusionary rule would be
exempted. Strieff argued that the unlawful stop was flagrant conduct, due to the Detective not
having reasonable suspicion. However, due to the fact that this was a high crime neighborhood,
nearly seventy five percent of those who resided in the area, had an outstanding warrant. With the
knowledge of this fact, Fackrell had a motive to make unlawful stops. Were most likely there
would be evidence to support his reason for the stop. Which leads to whether or not the
exclusionary rule would even

Drug Trafficking Struggles
As previously stated, the FARC one of the richest rebel movements in the world, but its difficult to
understand why although they preach about inequality and have one of the highest incomes,
Colombia still continues to experience poverty and inequality. The organization has resorted to
extortion and kidnapping in order to attain large sums of money and their illegal drug trafficking
business are extremely profiting, so where does all of their money go? Their total revenues from
1991 1999 estimated nearly U.S. $3.2 billion. They manage their investment strategies and financial
institutions outside of Colombia, by storing their money outside of the country they are able to
purchase weapons through international criminal networks (International Peace Academy Inc.,
2003). I include the used of the word terrorism in the previous explanation of the drug trade in
order to emphasize the tactics that were implemented by the FARC in order to gain power. One of
the most interesting aspects to analyze when seeing the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The root cause of these causalities and the continuous war is political conflict, the different
points of view and opposing political spectrums is what continues to maintain the conflict of
Colombia. Now the FARC is one of the richest and most powerful entities due to drug trafficking
its quite difficult to find a common ground with them and the Colombian government. Many
peace agreements have been drafted but had yet to be sustainable. There s a large gap that needs
to be filled in response to fining an individual who is responsible and will pay the consequences
of the damages (Richani, 2013). The problem doesn t only lie amongst the armed forces, it also
lies in the government s inability to provide what the people need. Both political stands and talks
of peace are hard to unite as they tend to leave discontent in one political party or the

Religion plays a very strong role in the novel entitled, Daniel s Story . After all, being Jewish is
the entire reason for the persecution of the main character and his family. Throughout the story,

and unjust things that are happening to Daniel and his family. At first, Daniel is confused, but he
begins to really understand. Throughout the four sections in the book, we see and understand

The Legal Entity System Has Profoundly Affected The...
1.0 Introduction The legal entity system has profoundly affected the process of human economic
and social development. Needless to say, the connotation of the legal entity system is very rich, and
that the company has an independent personality and shareholders bear the limited liability is the
two basic features (Tweedale, G., Flynn, L., 2007). Of course, the company s independent
personality is based on the separation of corporate property and shareholder property. Under this
circumstance, the company shall enjoy their rights, fulfil obligations, and independently bear civil
liability in its own name (L.C.B., 1992). However, with the development of commodity economy,
and the deepening and extensive use of the legal entity system, the... Show more content on

3.1.1 Fraud or misrepresentation Fraud or misrepresentation is one of the most frequent factors
in piercing the corporate veil. Fraud is a deliberate concealment of the truth and a false statement
leading the other party to engage in certain acts and causing loss or injury, which can be seen in
the case GILFORD MOTOR Co. v HORNE Ltd. (1933) . Fraud includes civil fraud and criminal
fraud, and fraud is often associated with misrepresentation. Inaccurate statements in the litigation of
piercing the corporate veil generally include misrepresentation of the company s assets and
financial conditions, as well as misrepresentations of paying to the parties. Professor Thompson is
of the opinion that when the act is found to be fraud by the court, the act is often used as evidence
to support the misrepresentation if the fraud claim cannot be substantiated (Hodge, L., Sachs, A.,
2008). 3.1.2 Shareholders control and domination In order to pierce the company veil, the plaintiff
needs not only to prove the domination and control behaviour, but also to prove that there is fraud
or abuse unfair form of corporate. In order to pierce the company veil, that shareholders only
control/dominate the company is not enough, and there must be fraud or misrepresentation
evidence. In this regard, the standard of piercing the veil of the company is also particularly
stringent. If there is only the fact that the shareholder is a

Hope In Elie Wiesel s Night
This section of the book proved to be one of the most suspenseful and thrilling parts of Nyiszli s
nightmare. I didn t expect him to survive, but at the same time, how would he write this book? I
worried for the doctor because I knew the outlook of his future would be bleak. He would come
home without his wife or child. Without any money, he would not be able to afford anything back
at home. With his home probably destroyed from the war, he would not have anything to come
back to. Survival was meaningless to him, but he still continued to push through the adversity. All
in all, I enjoyed the ending. I was not expecting him to be so happy at the end. In fact, I thought he
would spend the rest of his days and sadness, but with hope, miracles can happen.
I am actually quite shocked the Dr. Nyiszli survived after the fall of Auschwitz. despite the cold
weather, the unrelenting march, and the little food and sleep, he able to defy all odds and survive.
Unfortunately, his friends would all perish after the madness of the crematoriums and the forced
march. He would survive two concentration camps for months and keep pushing himself until his
freedom. He could have easily given up. He did not have any family or friends. He had witnessed

Roxana As A Woman
By being a femme seule and being a mistress, although Roxana hates having to be a mistress
because she considers it immoral, Roxana was sexually liberated and had a job. Roxana had
control over both her body and finances once she was no longer married or indebted, as society
saw it, to a man. These two facts alone lead me to believe that Roxana can and should be
considered an eighteenth century feminist icon even though I believe she would have chosen a
different vocation if she had had the opportunity. In the article titled, I wou d be a Man Woman :
Roxana s Amazonian Threat to the Ideology of Marriage, author Shawn Lisa Maurer writes,
Despite her powerful arguments for female liberty, Roxana does not begin the novel as a fierce and
independent woman. [...] Roxana is an Amazon made rather than born. Not an inherent or inherited
disposition but rather the harrowing events of her early life a bad marriage, with subsequent
bankruptcy and desertion have propelled her (Maurer, 367). Roxana became a mistress due to
circumstances beyond her control, and furthermore, as Christina L. Healey points out in her article
titled, A perfect Retreat indeed : Speculation, Surveillance, and Space in Defoe s Roxana, The novel
s focus on domestic spaces and figures women who become the victims of bad business deals and
who cope with their victimization by transforming themselves into women of business links the
nation s economic conditions and concerns with domestic instability.

China s Economy Is Becoming The World s Second Largest...
1.1 Background
Since initiating a series of economic reforms and adopting the open policy in 1978, China s
economy has experienced a spectacular growth and achieved a remarkable success over the past
three decades. In particular, according to the government figures released on August 16th 2010,
China s economy in the second quarter has slightly surpassed Japan s in terms of gross domestic
product. This milestone suggests that China is becoming the world s second largest economy
behind the United States. At the same time, the opportunities created by the striking economic
growth have led China s most important investment markets, stock and real estate markets to
undertake an enormous transformation and development. On one hand, since the two stock
exchanges (Shanghai Stock Exchange Shenzhen Stock Exchange) were launched in 1990, China s
stock market has served as a vehicle for financing and supporting the development and reform of
State Owned Enterprises. That is, within China s bank dominated financial system, stock market
was restricted by a series of regulations and assumed only a secondary role in the financial
economy. Not until the late 1990s did the stock market acquire an increasingly important strategic
role in China s economy. The stock market was vigorously promoted by relaxing regulations
imposed on it and experienced tremendous growth in size and liquidity since the early twenty first
century (Lai Yang, 2009, p.409 410).

A.Introduction This paper will look at the principles of confidentiality, ethical theories, and a
presented case study on the Z family and the practitioners ethical decisions. It will provide a
better understanding of how moral and ethical situations can be approached by the practitioner,
and giving examples and theories that can be put into practice in difficult decisions. B.Ethical
Theory The importance of ethical theory plays a large role in nursing practices. It is often
difficult to understand where the lines of confidentiality should be drawn, so in order to help
decipher the feelings nurse practitioners have of what they consider to be fair or unfair, there are a
number of ethical theories that can be used in order to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In this case, these protocols to making tough decisions come in the form of Ethical Theories.
Having the templates in place to make decisions, allows nurse practitioners to have a series of
ethical and moral situations that they can run through in order to align their own personal values
with their professional ones. An example would be if a practitioner had a husband or wife who
was an inpatient; it would be unethical to go to the nurse s station to look over their spouse s chart.
Simply being married does not provide any special treatment without authorization signed by the
spouse (Erickson and Millar, 2005). C1. Explain the elements of the principle of confidentiality. The
elements of the principles of confidentiality can be broken down into four separate categories: (1)
Information provided by the patient is kept confidential unless consent from the patient has
otherwise been given unless it has direct legal implications or endangers the general public. (2)
Informed Consent: is given freely, because the correct information has been supplied and the patient
has sufficient information on the impacts involved. Information is otherwise given out on a need to
know basis. (3) Duty of Care: Information is given out in order to protect the safety and health of
others and the patient. Legal and general public health fall under this category. (4) Documenting
Decisions: Consultations and actions that lead to

Adam And Eves Research Paper
Chapter one:
Introduction
At the beginning of the time, there was nothing, but pure light and love. This light and love was
God. God then began to create countless number of planets with different versions of Adams
and Eves to experience life in the physical form. These initial versions of Adam and Eves were
the literal expressions of God. They were created in the image of God and they were given
everything that they would ever need to enjoy life. They were living in the paradise that knew
nothing about negativity or problems. The only difference between Heaven and the place where
billions versions of 20th century Adams and Eves live right now is this in heaven, there is no
negativity, no problems, no lack, no physical death, and no darkness. ... Show more content on

They were half way through eating the fruit, and they both had a thought which induced some form
of emotion that was completely new to them. It was fear. They had their first thought that said God
would be angry at you because you consumed this fruit against his command They both then felt
angry about themselves for eating the fruit. This emotion of anger was also new to them. Likewise
they began to produce thoughts after thoughts after thoughts endlessly which was also new to them.
What they did not realize at this point was that the fruit which they consumed activated the thinking
mind, their subconscious mind. Right after consuming the fruit, Adam could notice the partition
in his mind. He was suddenly thinking. He was repeatedly thinking Omg, God would be angry
at me now , Should I puke it out , Should I take some stomach cleanser to clear this thing off my

Capital Structure Decisions
Capital Structure Decisions: Which Factors are Reliably Important? Murray Z. Frank1 and

This paper examines the relative importance of 38 factors in the leverage decisions of publicly
traded U.S. п¬Ѓrms from 1950 to 2000. The most reliable factors are median industry leverage (+
effect on leverage), market to book ratio ( ), collateral (+), bankruptcy risk as measured by
Altman s Z Score ( ), dividend paying ( ), log of sales (+), and expected inflation (+). These
seven factors all have the sign predicted by the trade off theory. The pecking order and market

To address this serious concern the effect of conditioning on п¬Ѓrm circumstances is studied. We
do п¬Ѓnd reliable empirical patterns.3 From a set of 38 factors that have been used in the
literature, seven have reliable relationships to corporate leverage. Firms that compete in industries
in which the median п¬Ѓrm has high leverage tend also to have high leverage. Firms that have
high levels of sales tend to have high leverage. Firms that have more collateral tend to have more
leverage. When inflation is expected to be high firms tend to have high leverage. Firms that
have a high risk of bankruptcy, as measured by Altman s Z score, have low leverage. Firms that
pay dividends tend to have lower leverage than do п¬Ѓrms that do not pay dividends. Finally
п¬Ѓrms that have a high market to book ratio tend to have low levels of leverage. These seven
factors account for more than 30% of the variation in leverage, while then remaining 31 factors
only add a further 6%. These seven factors have very consistent sign and statistical significance
across many alternative treatments of the data. The remaining factors are not nearly as consistent.
All seven of the reliable factors have signs that are predicted by the trade off theory of leverage.
Market timing theory makes correct predictions for the market to book and inflation variables.
However it does not make any predictions for the

The profitability is not high, but at least, the fixed costs will be paid and maybe some profitability
will be achieved.
Opportunity Costs are used to measure the costs of the resources. They can be defined as the cost
of an alternative that must be forgone in order to pursue a certain action, or the benefits received
by taking an alternative action, or, still, the difference in return between a chosen investment and
one that was passed up. As example, the benefit of studying a MBA and spending money on it or
save the money for future expenses, or better saying, using the money to pay expenses in daily basis.
Conclusion
Various terms are used to describe costs. Having an understanding of these terms will provide a
better insight to managers and companies on making budget decisions, efficiently. Not only the
ones described above should be considered, but also all types of costs related to the decision in
effect. Efficient managers will considered all aspects related to the analyses in question.

Political Changes In Cuba
The country of Cuba is a nation that has gone through a great amount of change throughout its
history, especially during the period of the early 1960s up through the late 1970s. However, the
element of Cuba that has gone through the most change was its politics and international relations.
Cuba s politics and international relations with North America, South America, Europe and Africa
have been key factors and the reasons why Cubas economy, society and culture are shaped the way
they are now.
The year Castro and Che Guevara defeated Fulgencio Batista, Fidel took control of Cuba and
crowned himself the new prime minister of his country. The successful revolution represented one
of the most profound social transformations ever seen in the Americas (Strug, 68). Cuba, a country
that has always been controlled by a stronger nation throughout its history, was finally free. As
discussed in lecture, the United States was not happy with the success of the revolution due to the
fact that they had a great deal of investments in the country of Cuba and they could no longer

The British Aero Engine Manufacturer
Introduction
Rolls Royce Limited is the British aero engine manufacturer. Its main export of jet engines
remained 40% of total sales to U.S. market. Due that the global market of the engines was
dominated by two U.S. companies called Pratt and Whitney Aircraft Group and General Electric
s aerospace division, Rolls Royce had to deal with any oversea contracts which were fixed in
dollar terms. On the other hand, Rolls Royce s operating costs were arisen in sterling. Therefore,
Rolls Royce had to price its products in U.S. dollar and calculate its cost in GBP. Unfortunately a
continued weakness of the U.S. dollar resulted that Rolls Royce suffered a heavy loss of their
profit from its annual report in 1979. Besides, the company won some engine contracts in 1978
and 1979, but no doubt they were priced in U.S. dollar. Hence, under the market condition,
whether U.S. dollar was depreciation or appreciation, it would dramatically affect Rolls Royce s
profit in certain period of time.
1. Key factors about the economic impact of exchange rate fluctuation
Under a stronger value currency, a country s export goods will become more expensive, but its
import goods will be cheaper when trading in domestic markets. In contrast, under a weaker value
currency, the goods which are exported will become cheaper, and the goods imported will be
expensive. From the case, as the British aero engine manufacturer, Rolls Royce does business with
American air frames. Due that U.S. dominance in civil

Explosive Black Powder
Most people do not know that we have tunnels underground, or that tunnels inside of rocks for us
to travel through. We use explosives to blast holes into solid areas we need to go through.
Explosives explode because they are made of materials that burn or break down very quickly,
producing a lot of heat and gas. (Wood, 2014). Usually explosives are made with a material called
a detonator, with another layer over it. A detonator is simply used for exploding a device. The
detonator makes a quick chemical reaction in the material that explodes. A chemical reaction is an
action that changes the energy and structure in the content of chemicals. Without a chemical
reaction, the explosives would not explode. There are many chemical reactions... Show more

There is a safety zone, fall out zone, fireworks zone, and spectator zone. These zones would help
you out of harm s way. The safety zone is between the area where people watch the action that is

it is where all the fireworks would be set up. The spectator zone is where all the people who want

information about explosives that is still out there to discover. Explosions are often very

The Origins Of Code Switching
The origins of code switching go back to the first mention of it in 1948 by Hoijer. He published
new terms which are closed in meaning to code switching known as a phonemic alternation and
phonemic alteration, but none of these terms refers precisely to code switching. After one year,
Fries and Pike s issued a book named Coexistent Phonemic Systems (1949) which discussed a
phenomenon of phonemic alternation between monolingual people. They reached a conclusion
says that in any a signed dialect, two phonemic systems can be existed, for instance the experience

The Effects Of Television On Children s Decision Of...
What would you do if you were to find out, that just by watching an advertisement on television, it
can lead you to drug problems, health issues, or even death? With this, alcohol distributors poison
the mind of the young and make them believe that drinking can really bring all the pleasures
portrayed in the advertisements, like the beach parties, celebrations, and fun at sporting events
Alcohol, that may be consumed, has been a very important aspect of the world. Many people
enjoy being able to have the feeling you receive when they do drink any form of alcohol. Alcohol
advertising influences not only adults but teens and children who are too young to purchase it.
Parents have a large impact on children s decision to drink, but marketing also has a greater impact

Participation Backwards Argumentative Essay
Every year people complain that kids get awards they didn t earn simply for participating in an
event. This is damaging to their future perspective on rewards, which are earned through effort
rather than just showing up and giving minimal effort. Giving kids rewards for the effort they
exhibit while participating in events can be beneficial, but if you constantly rewardchildren they ll
receive the wrong message. That no matter the amount of effort or what the outcome is you ll be
given a reward. As parents you are not doing the best you can for your kids if you allow this to
happen. You are not setting them up for success if you always give them a trophy, especially when
they give minimal effort or lose.
Participation trophies are always under scrutiny by many different groups of people. Even with this
huge stigma following them, the issue isn t usually covered by the media or debated on a large
scale. That silence was broken when the Pittsburg Steelers ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The most common argument for participation trophies is that by giving the kids trophies for
showing up and doing anything, it will keep kids interested in playing the game or coming to
practice. Until everyone got a trophy for just showing up, they truly meant something. The
definition of a trophy is as follows, something gained or given in victory or conquest especially
when preserved or mounted as a memorial (Merriam Webster). When did trophies designed to be
given as rewards for great victories become the means to get kids show up? Instead we should be
giving them ice cream, cookies, or pizza as a reward for showing up. These would get them to
participate but are small enough rewards that won t damage their understanding of the effort really

Essay On Pregnant Women In America
Introduction: In the past thirty years the number of incarcerated women in the United States
increased by 646%, it is estimated that 6 10% of these women were pregnant at intake. An
Examination of Care Practices of Pregnant Women Incarcerated in Jail Facilities in the United
States, is a study that examined the pregnancyrelated accommodation and health care provided for
regional jail populations. Prior to this study no other study examined regional jail populations, they

self report of pregnancy status and performed tests to confirm pregnancy. Once pregnancy was
confirmed less than 30% of the facilities informed women of options such as adoption or
termination. All of the jails reported to having onsite medical care, the majority of the jails
reported that they do not charge for OB/GYN medical services. However, almost one third of the
facilities reported that they do not have onsite OB/GYN care instead they transport women
outside of the jail for medical care. Lastly, only 68% of the jails reported to providing infection
disease screening, and only 44% provide ultrasounds to women during The majority of the
facilities reported that they provide a bottom bunk, food supplements, and prenatal vitamin to
pregnant inmates. In spite of this, most facilities do not provide fluid supplement or healthy food

pregnancy class. About half of the jail reported that pregnant women who were addicted to opioids

Marketing Discourse Of South Korea Essay
Ever since the economic boom that South Korea faced due to globalization in the 1990 s, South
Korea has been working on becoming a country on par with other global powers such as Canada
and Australia (John, 2015). South Korea has paid a particular focus since the early 2000 s on
exporting culture to the rest of the world through what is known as the Korean Wave , and South
Korean beauty is no exception to this trend (John, 2015). South Korean beauty has grown its own
niche market in America where people can purchase products either from popular online distributors
such as MEMEBOX, WishTrend, and YesStyle, or from select American outlets such as Sephora,
Urban Outfitters, and Forever21. Beauty from South Koreahas also gained an online presence as
popular online beauty gurus test interesting products from South Korea, and some beauty gurus
even have a focus on South Korean beauty products and trends. My discourse community is the
marketingdiscourse community within the business sphere, and it focuses on ways to sell products
to customers and make them aware of products that they might like with hopes of increasing the
profit margins of companies. Companies tend to employ multiple types of marketing, including
traditional and word of mouth marketing, but I have focused my research more on the side of
traditional marketing. Traditional marketing includes magazine and newspaper advertisements,
television advertisements, and billboard advertisements. With the increase in

Persuasive Essay On Athletes
Jermichael Finley was a tight end for the Green Bay Packers, who was fighting a back injury for
some part of the year. He took a strange hit at the end of the game and was not able to get up. He
had no control, couldn t breathe or move. He looked up to his teammates and they could see the
fear inside of his eyes. He was carried off the field on a stretcher and he asked a trainer, Will I play
football again? The trainer said, I cannot answer that yet. (Mark Mravic) He never was on an NFL
team again. He was hurt enough to the point where he couldn t get back to a competitive level.
Injuriesare real, and we need protect defenseless players.
All I almost ever see on Sportscenter, Bleacher Report or any other sports news app is injury
updates. Injuries happen too frequently in sports. Some people don t even think about how awful
this problem really is. I believe that there is something we can do to protect athletes and avoid
injuries before they happen. Athletes are not protected enough in sports.
The injuries players face in football are awful. It s a high risk sport. Players of the sport retire so
early from the NFL because of the massive hits. It really takes a toll on their body. Some players
retire by thirty years old for reasons like injuries. ACL/MCL tears are the most common injury
that are actually serious. Some players in this sport are too big to tackle in their upper body, so
they get tackled in their lower body, like their knees. This is the cause of ACL/MCL

The Nature Of People s Beliefs
Philosophy allows people to study the nature of people s beliefs. Throughout history people s
beliefs have differed. At one time people may believe one idea and decades later people may
completely disagree with that idea. Not even the ideas of the law are exempt from this
occurrence. Since the spoken word, hundreds of philosophers have defined law in different
ways. Seeing law in different ways people can come to different conclusions about specific cases.
The Fugitive Slave Law was a controversial law in American history. The Fugitive Slave Law
allowed slave owners to capture their slaves who have fled North to free states. In United States v

Philosophers such as Thomas Aquinas describes the Natural Law theory as a theory coming from
the eternal law which is God s law imprinted on us. People determine moral issues from what is
right and wrong. Aquinas did think the answers for the moral issues were clear; however, he still
asserted that sometimes it is hard for people to decipher what was right and wrong. Aquinas thinks
laws come from the conclusions made from basic human knowledge knowing right and wrong. The
law of nature derives from morality Aquinas would say that morality and justice are serve from
the moral law and justice, and is what morality requires of us (Aquinas). Morality requires us to
act righteously. If a law is not moral, thus it is not a law I don t see that you have explained why
Aquinas thinks that. The Fugitive Slave Law goes against the laws of nature. Humans have
their own free will and the law of nature does not permit one human to claim another human.
People are not property and have their own free will. Obviously, morality says people are not
possessions. One cannot approach a person and say, I own you. It is not morally justifiable.
According to Aquinas, the Fugitive Slave Law is not a real law because it does not follow
morality. At the time of the Fugitive Slave Law, people knew slavery was wrong; so, the jurors in
Morris did conduct in the appropriate manner. As stated before, natural law theory states a law
requires morality. The jurors

Operation Bodyguard Research Paper
Operation Bodyguard was the code name for a World War II deception plan employed by the
Allied states before the 1944 invasion of north west Europe. The plan was intended to mislead the
German high command as to the time and place of the invasion.
From January 1942 until the end of the war in Europe in 1945, FBI agents and radio technicians
lived and worked undercover, secretly transmitting coded messages that the Nazis believed came
from their own spies operating in New York. The Nazis believed their operatives were funneling
significant details about U.S. forces, munitions, and war preparations. But in fact, the
transmissions were controlled by the FBI the Nazi spies were FBI double agents. The Bureau s
work, known as Operation Ostrich, was central to our counterintelligence operations throughout the
war and was part of a larger effort by Allied Forces to deceive the enemy called Operation
Bodyguard. The Allied effort derived its name from a statement by British Prime Minister Winston
Churchill, who said, In ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Similarities Between A Midsummer Night s Dream And The...
In John Webster s The Duchess of Malfi and William Shakespeare s A Midsummer Night s Dream,
women react to authority in significantly different ways. The authors focus both on women
showing acceptance to power and women who shy away from it. In the plays, the Duchess and
Hermia defy the abuse of power, while Helena and Cariola submit to it.
In The Duchess of Malfi, the Duchess s brothers go to extreme measures to ensure she stays
unwed. The Duchess s husband, the Duke of Malfi, had just perished, leaving her sad and alone.

Even after the Duchess s brothers tell her they will either jail or execute her if she remarries, she
remarries anyway because she determinately wanted that for herself. The Duchess knew her corrupt
brothers could cause her serious harm, but she followed her heart because she just wanted happiness.
Hermia disobeyed her father in almost the exact same way the Duchess had disobeyed her
brothers. Even though her father already had a marriage arranged for her, she had fallen in love
with another man. Hermia s father wanted her to be sent to a nunnery or put to death if she does
not marry Demetrius. Hermia, even after hearing the awful things that could happen to her if she
disobeys her father, runs off with Lysander instead because she loves him; and love conquers all.
These women, even after being threatened by men, show strength and do not bow down to their
authority.
The other main comparison between the two plays shows how behind the Duchess and Hermia,
the strong and powerful women, lies Helena and Cariola, the weak and powerless women.
Cariola shows bravery all the way up until her death where she begs and pleads for her life, and
Helena lets countless men walk all over her and does not seem to care. Both women show weakness

two years research within an array of government agencies, educational institutions and
corporations: from the Aeronutronic Ford Corporation, Newport Beach to the Veterans

Mike and I, through the act of selection, became authors (BAMPFA, 2012). Throughout the work
we are focused on the notion of the photographas index: the trace of a footprint on wet paving

the photograph, as an empiric document, is continually questioned, not least in the title of the work.

During 19th century Victorian England, in the age of the British Empire and colonialism, Charlotte
Bronte s usage of non caucasian characters and attributes highlight subtle racial tensions and
perspectives in an increasingly anglocentric society. In Jane Eyre, while Jane s perspective and

racially biased undertones characterizes foreign characters as plot devices in order for Jane to

however, only few were allowed to have outstanding education while the majority had to be

Essay on The Wife of Bath by Geoffery Chaucer
The Wife of Bath
The Wife of Bath, or Alison, is a worldly woman. Not only has she traveled the world, she has
experienced the world, in the sexual manner. Alison herself states this at the beginning of her tale,
Were there no books at all on the subject, my own experience gives me a perfect right to talk of the
sorrows of marriage . . . I ve married five husbands . . . . (Chaucer 174). The point of Alison s long
winded prologue is to crush the idea that men have a hierarchy of dominance over women. Chaucer
makes this point, and also the point, through Alison s tale, that if women are given what they want,
then they will be obedient and faithful to their men.

At this notion, the Pardoner, another one of Chaucer s characters, asks why he should even wed if
his wife is going to control his body. Alison quickly replies that he should listen to her tale before he

Alison tells the tale of a knight in King Arthur s Court who rapes a beautiful young maiden out of
lust. The knight is sentenced to be decapitated. However, the queen and other ladies of the court
ask Arthur to give the knight one chance to save himself, and being obedient to the wifely counsel,
Arthur agrees. The knight may live, if within one year he can come back to the court and tell them
what women want most in the world. Alison continues her tale, telling all of the different answers
that the knight receives, such as sex, money, flattery, and even remarriage. Not thinking that any of
these answers are true he continues on. Nearing the end of his journey, the knight spots a group of
women dancing in the woods, but when he gets to where they were they have vanished and all that
remains is an ugly old woman. The old woman ask if she can help and the knight tells of his
predicament. The old hag says that she knows the answer and offers to help only if the knight

Contemporary Theories Of The United States Government
The United States government is a democracy, a system of elected policymakers and an organized
government so that policy is created in favor to the people s wants and needs. Many like to
categorize this system of government off of its characteristics and patterns. Three theories have
been grouped into the three contemporary theories of democracy, where the United Statesfits into
each in a different way. Pluralism reflects the use of groups advocating for a single cause, while
Hyperpluralism is Pluralism that did not go correctly because groups are so strong that the
government weakened itself. In addition to pluralism and hyperpluralism, the Elite and Class
Theory introduces the idea that a government has an elite, wealthy ruler who runs the classes
below it. These three contemporary theories of democracy are all applicable to the United States
government, but pluralism is the most prominent out of these three theories because the United
States is based off of political and advocate groups that press for changes in policies with a
balance that prevents the scales from tipping onto the hyperpluralist side. The first of the three
theories of democracy is pluralism, also referred to as the Pluralist Theory. This emphasizes that
politics is a race between many groups who desire to have their policy enforced by the government.
Unlike Hyperpluralism, Pluralism is based off of group efforts that advocate for a similar cause that

ethics of certain individuals can be and are called into question.
While perusing the internet, and other available resources for specific examples, an article that
sparked interest was written in regards to medical professionals participating in executions. This

are three personality traits that make a successful basketballplayer. Those traits are determination,
leadership, and sportsmanship. Determination is one of the main keys in being a successful
basketball player. My definition of determination is someone who never gives up on anything in
life. Michael Jordanwas sick with the flu one night before a game. He still had determination to play
in the NBA game that night with the flu. Another example of determination is when Stephen
Curry was down three games in the NBA series, and he had determination to come back and win
the NBA title two years in a row. Stephen Curry showed true determination skills to never give and
to work hard for what he wanted in life.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
My definition of leadership is when someone takes over and guides another person. I showed
true leadership skills when I saw my teammate struggling at practice on a ball handling drill. I
stopped what I was doing to come over and help him handle the ball better. Another example of
leadership is when the Cleveland Cavaliers were losing at halftime in game six of the NBA finals.
LeBron James went into the locker room, and he had a talk with his teammates about never giving
up no matter what the score was. He showed great leadership skills in helping them win a title and
winning MVP that night of game

Many would agree that the teenage years can be challenging, difficult and confusing for teenagers
and their parents. However, compared to heterosexual youth the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual,
Transgender teenager (LGBT) teen faces increased challenges and difficulties as a result of their
sexual orientation. Parents can provide an influential role in their teenagers role through effective
listening, support and communication. The need for support groups for parents of LGBTQ teens
has never been greater. Negative attitudes toward lesbian, gay, and bisexual (LGB) people put these
youth at increased risk for experiences with violence, compared with other students.1 Violence can
include behaviors such as bullying, teasing, harassment, physical assault,... Show more content on

Social workers can play multiple leadership roles in groups (Kirst Ashman, Hull, 2015).
An explanation of the potential dynamics to be aware of when running this particular group.
The potential dynamics to be aware when conducting support group parents of LGBTQ teens are
the mindsets of the parents. Each parent has a set frame of reference, possible prejudices,
stereotypes, and lack of knowledge. The dynamics can be the very factors that help facilitate a
healthy group interacting along with the parents.
Conclusion
Ongoing research is needed in determining the most effective ways parents can interact positively
with their Lesbian, Bisexual, Gay, Transgender (LGBT) teenager. However, as discussed, there are
ways in which parents can effectively interact with their Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender
(LGBT) teenagers that can enhance the relationship, and provide a positive outcome for the
teenager. A parent s response to their teen s sexual orientation can have greatly impact the teens
mental and physical health (Bouris A., Guilamo Ramos V, et

Exodus Identity Analysis
Exodus created an identity for the Israelites through the form of Moses, which also defined the
main relationship with their God. Through Moses, the Israelite people were eventually granted
access to leave their bonds in Egypt and begin the journey to their promised land. However, God s
covenant with the Israelitesis extremely conditional. No other forces may be worshipped other than
the true God, and everyone must follow the Ten Commandments, as well as trusting in Mosesand
his words. Those who did not follow directions were usually treated to a plague, widely seen
throughout Exodus 7 12, when the Pharaoh refused to let the Israelites go during God s words via
Moses. This continued on through the entire passage to the promised land.

The man who exited the house went by the name of Strieff, who the detective decided to stop and question. By taking Streiff s I.D., Fackrell discovered a traffic warrant meant for Strieff. Under this warrant, the detective then arrested Strieff, and then conducted a search on Strieff due to the arrest. Due to this search, Fackrell found meth and a drug pipe inside... United States (1963) the Supreme Court found that the evidence obtained following unlawful police conduct may still be admissible, unless the evidence was not come about in a way of poor conduct. However, this was found excusable if the evidence acquired post the rest was irrelevant to the police conduct. In this case, Wong Sun wrote an unsigned confession, which was established to not be the fruit of the arrest. Therefore, the confession then was eligible to be used in trial. Toy, another man under the suspicion of narcotics, was arrested under an unlawful warrant. The man was searched by an unlawful warrant, this action becomes the fruit of the arrest. Hence, this was not permitted to be used in court as incriminating evidence. Similarly, in Utah v. Strieff, Strieff was arrested for a traffic warrant, which was found through an unlawful stop. Subsequently, this issued the search of Strieff s person. The precedent case demonstrates that the original arrest was for the traffic warrant, this causes the warrant to be the fruit of the arrest. The search proceeding the arrest, found evidence that is not the fruit of the arrest, and the exclusionary rule would be exempted. Strieff argued that the unlawful stop was flagrant conduct, due to the Detective not having reasonable suspicion. However, due to the fact that this was a high crime neighborhood, nearly seventy five percent of those who resided in the area, had an outstanding warrant. With the knowledge of this fact, Fackrell had a motive to make unlawful stops. Were most likely there would be evidence to support his reason for the stop. Needless to say, the connotation of the legal entity system is very rich, and that the company has an independent personality and shareholders bear the limited liability is the two basic features (Tweedale, G., Flynn, L., 2007). Of course, the company s independent personality is based on the separation of corporate property and shareholder property. Under this circumstance, the company shall enjoy their rights, fulfil obligations, and independently bear civil liability in its own name (L.C.B., 1992). Fraud is a deliberate concealment of the truth and a false statement leading the other party to engage in certain acts and causing loss or injury, which can be seen in the case GILFORD MOTOR Co. v HORNE Ltd. (1933) . Fraud includes civil fraud and criminal fraud, and fraud is often associated with misrepresentation. Inaccurate statements in the litigation of piercing the corporate veil generally include misrepresentation of the company s assets and financial conditions, as well as misrepresentations of paying to the parties. Professor Thompson is of the opinion that when the act is found to be fraud by the court, the act is often used as evidence to support the misrepresentation if the fraud claim cannot be substantiated (Hodge, L., Sachs, A., 2008). 3.1.2 Shareholders control and domination In order to pierce the company veil, the plaintiff needs not only to prove the domination and control behaviour, but also to prove that there is fraud or abuse unfair form of corporate. In particular, according to the government figures released on August 16th 2010, China s economy in the second quarter has slightly surpassed Japan s in terms of gross domestic product. This milestone suggests that China is becoming the world s second largest economy behind the United States. At the same time, the opportunities created by the striking economic growth have led China s most important investment markets, stock and real estate markets to undertake an enormous transformation and development. On one hand, since the two stock exchanges (Shanghai Stock Exchange Shenzhen Stock Exchange) were launched in 1990, China s stock market has served as a vehicle for financing and supporting the development and reform of State Owned Enterprises. That is, within China s bank dominated financial system, stock market was restricted by a series of regulations and assumed only a secondary role in the financial economy. Not until the late 1990s did the stock market acquire an increasingly important strategic role in China s economy. An example would be if a practitioner had a husband or wife who was an inpatient; it would be unethical to go to the nurse s station to look over their spouse s chart. The elements of the principles of confidentiality can be broken down into four separate categories: (1) Information provided by the patient is kept confidential unless consent from the patient has otherwise been given unless it has direct legal implications or endangers the general public. (2) Informed Consent: is given freely, because the correct information has been supplied and the patient has sufficient information on the impacts involved. Information is otherwise given out on a need to know basis. (3) Duty of Care: Information is given out in order to protect the safety and health of others and the patient. Firms that compete in industries in which the median п¬Ѓrm has high leverage tend also to have high leverage. Firms that have high levels of sales tend to have high leverage. Firms that have more collateral tend to have more leverage. When inflation is expected to be high п¬Ѓrms tend to have high leverage. Due that the global market of the engines was dominated by two U.S. companies called Pratt and Whitney Aircraft Group and General Electric s aerospace division, Rolls Royce had to deal with any oversea contracts which were fixed in dollar terms. On the other hand, Rolls Royce s operating costs were arisen in sterling. Therefore, Rolls Royce had to price its products in U.S. dollar and calculate its cost in GBP. Unfortunately a continued weakness of the U.S. dollar resulted that Rolls Royce suffered a heavy loss of their profit from its annual report in 1979. • 22. Marketing Discourse Of South Korea Essay Ever since the economic boom that South Korea faced due to globalization in the 1990 s, South Korea has been working on becoming a country on par with other global powers such as Canada and Australia (John, 2015). South Korea has paid a particular focus since the early 2000 s on exporting culture to the rest of the world through what is known as the Korean Wave , and South Korean beauty is no exception to this trend (John, 2015). South Korean beauty has grown its own niche market in America where people can purchase products either from popular online distributors such as MEMEBOX, WishTrend, and YesStyle, or from select American outlets such as Sephora, Urban Outfitters, and Forever21. Beauty from South Koreahas also gained an online presence as popular online beauty gurus test interesting products from South Korea, and some beauty gurus even have a focus on South Korean beauty products and trends. The plan was intended to mislead the German high command as to the time and place of the invasion. In John Webster s The Duchess of Malfi and William Shakespeare s A Midsummer Night s Dream, women react to authority in significantly different ways. In The Duchess of Malfi, the Duchess s brothers go to extreme measures to ensure she stays unwed. The Duchess s husband, the Duke of Malfi, had just perished, leaving her sad and alone.
