The Food Pyramid
Berta, Sandra, Enrique and David
 The food pyramid is a pyramid that tells you
the different types of foods you should include
in a typical diet.
 The food is divided into groups and it is
recommended that you eat many different
foods.
 The first level of the food pyramid is cereals,
grains, and derivatives (wheat, pasta, etc.)
 You need 6 to 11 servings daily.
 The second level (part 1) is the fresh fruit
group.
 You need 2 to 3 servings daily.
 The second level (part 2) is the vegetable
group.
 You need 3 to 5 servings daily.
 The third level (part 1) is the legume, meat,
fish, and egg group.
 You need from 3 to 5 servings daily.
 The third level (part 2) is the dairy product
group.
 You need from 2 to 3 servings daily.
 At the top of the pyramid is the fats, oils, and
sweets group.
 You should eat foods from this group in
moderation.

you are on the page, press the tiny box which
says “ Interactive Food Guide Pyramid”.
 When you follow the food pyramid you are
eating healthy.
 But there are some unhealthy eating behaviors.

 Bulimia
 Obesity
 Anorexia is a very serious eating disorder.
 It is a psychological disorder that may lead to
death, discovered in the 19th century.
 Fear to be fat and desire to own a body image
of extreme thinness.
 Lack of control over the food.
 Intake of large amounts of food in a short
period of time, accompanied by compensatory
behaviors such as excessive consumption of
self induced vomiting or laxatives.
 Seeking ideal weight with fear and irrational
diets to gain weight.
 Low self-esteem.
 Excessive preoccupation with the physical
aspect
 Feelings of guilt after the binge that leads them
to the self-induced vomiting and abuse of
laxatives.
 Obesity is a physical problem.
 There are many causes for obesity, for example,
eating too much or having metabolism
problems.
 Treatments include exercise, proper diet
(follow the food pyramid), or gastric operation
