This is a picture of the Hotel we’re staying at. We
were lucky enough to get one of the rooms
overlooking the sea and the view is lovely. We
had a good journey over here and the children
quite enjoyed the flight. They’ve got a lovely
room of their own and they think the hotel’s
great. In general, we’ve all been having a really
good time.

 Abstract nouns;

Criteria of
Uncountable Noun:
Non indefinite article;
Singular form only;
Much, little;
To be and verb of
singular.
Articles
1. Indefinite article
1. A (before consonant sound, e.g. a university);
2. An (before vowel sound, e.g. an hour).
2. Definite article
1. Specific one;
2. Only one;
3. Particular ;
4. Before collective nouns;
5. Before some adjectives (used without a noun);
6. Before parts of the day;
7. Before names of ships, newspapers, seas, rivers,
magazines and some names of musical groups and
countries;
8. Before superlatives and ordinals;
9. Before names of musical instruments when we talk
about playing them;
Articles
3. Zero article
1. With proper nouns;
2. With meals;
3. With schools, hospitals when we talk about going
to these places or being in them for their normal
use;
4. With by + transport;
5. With next/last.
Don’t use an article before plural nouns and singular
uncountable nouns when you use them in a general
sense.
