Similarities Between English American And French Revolutions
The future of a country is somewhat contrasted through distinguished moments in history, the
English, American and French revolutions proved this theory by shaping the countries into the
powerhouses they are today, all of which have some similarities in the general causes that lead to
the countries rebelling and eventually creating a new political and social order. The first of the
three, the English Great Rebellion was the result of the monarchy and its following fighting the
wishes of parliament throughout the 1640 s. The cause originated from James I who believed in
the divine right of kings, basically casting out the parliament involvement, even though the two
were actually supposed to act as a balanced polity . James I and the parliament disagreed on many
things, but... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Puritans within the Anglican Church, wished to eliminate these Roman Catholicism beliefs,
but Charles had these protesters alienated, which for the early part of the revolution was a bad
decision on Charles I behalf. The conflict that had arose during the reign of James (1625 1649) had
extended through to his son s time in the monarchy, with Charles I sharing the same religious
beliefs as his father. This added hostility to the situation with parliament and also with Puritans,
forcing thousands to relocate to the land of America. As England eventually slipped into a civil
war, fighting over the right of religious practices in court, the people of Ireland and Scotland started
supported parliament and the roles of which it should have in the United Kingdom. As protests

Clocked kind of reminded me of Steak n Shake, but ten times better. Clocked has many different

Service and Asset Privatization Essay example
The rapid interest in privatization stroked when all the levels of government economies were
persistently challenging in running their operations during last two to three decades of twentieth
century (Shirley, 1992). Since then, privatization of public sectors has been a key factor of
structural reform programs in both developed and developing countries (Sheshinski Lopez Calva,
2003). The process of transferring ownership of public services from the public sector(the part
which is controlled by government) to private sectors (the part which is owned and controlled by
private party) is called privatization(Investopia, 2013). According to Sarah E. Gollust and Peter D.
Jacobson, privatization is the transfer of decision making authority,... Show more content on

Primarily, privatization is to achieve higher allocation and productive efficiency and to strengthen
the role of private sector in the economy (Sheshinski Lopez Calva, 2003). They describe that
these two objectives are the main reasons behind government contracting its sectors to private
parties and are associated with microeconomic efficiency. Secondarily, it is to improve the public
sector s financial health and to free resources for allocation in other important areas of government
activity usually related to social policy (Sheshinski Lopez Calva, 2003). For the next ones, they
explain that these reduce the level of borrowing and reallocate the possible expenditure towards
social policy areas, and these are connected to public sector finance.
Literature Review: In this research, I have conducted studies on three important aspect of public
sector where privatization has taken place and from which I could draw a conclusive end. The first
among them is the privatization of state prison. The first privatization of prison in United States was
done in 1986 and soon after, the numbers continue to increase rapidly (Burkhardt, 2009). From
theory driven historical analysis, he finds out that the rising population, interventionist federal
courts, and the link between the private contractors and members of state governments are the
causing factors of state prison privatization. In

The Alamo And The Mexican-American War
When looking on these documents, it is obvious to note the similarities with the writing in the
early textbooks on the topic of the Alamo and the Mexican American War. When these events
happened, America was still a pretty recent country and was trying it s hardest to make a name for
themself amonst the other well known countries. In 1867, when the first passage about the Alamo
was written, and in 1840, when the first passage about the Mexican American War was written, it
was quite apparent that the people writing these were not telling the full truth about the two events
as it was shown that in the writing of the Alamo, the author only said that David (Davy) Crockette
was probably killed. From the 1878 edition to the 1905 one, there was a... Show more content on

From the passage from the 1849 texbook, there was discprencies about the even when comparing to
later excerpts. They said that Mexico was jealous of the American government and that if Texaswas
annexe, they would think it be quite a hostile act against them. After that, they talked about how
there was talk negotiations between them and yet the Mexican s went straight ahead and
organized troops to take Texas back. In the passage from the 1880 textbook, it felt more like the
writer wanted to write a fiction book by the way they casted the events with such vague
descriptions. There was no real analyisis of the events that unfolded. In 1911, the idea that the
American people were only only preparing and guessing that the Mexican government was going
to launch a strike against them was the one theory that seemed to stick for years to come. The
author said that President Polk was expecting a fight so he sent his general to the territory in
preparation for what was going to happen. It wasn t until 1966 where there was finally light
brought to the issues surrounding the war and how the President was becoming more and more
impatioent about the issue of not gaining the territory they were fighitng over and knowing the
unwillingness of the government to hand it over. There seemed to be issues in deciding who
actually started the war, whether it be with the troops being sent to the Rio Grande or Polk s

Creating a shared vision A vision of the project unites professionals with different backgrounds
and agendas to a common aspiration. It helps motivate members to subordinate their individual
agendas and do what is best for the project (Gray Larson, 2006, p. 356). As Amber Briggs creates
her team, a shared vision is an essential part of creating a great anniversary celebration. After all, if
some members envision a picnic at the park while others envision a black tie, sit down dinner at the
Ritz, the road back from either extreme will be long and troublesome. An effective vision must be
challenging but realistic, and a source of inspiration to others. It must be a vision that the project
manager is passionate about and can communicate to others. The University of Maryland created
such a vision for its 150th anniversary celebration. Once agreed upon and put in writing, the vision
became part of every team meeting and the activities of every department on campus. In a sense, the
project vision was a statement of the shared goals of the coordinating committee, but it was also the
source of inspiration and continued excitement about the 150th anniversary through the months of
celebratory activities. The vision statement inspired the theme logo and each of the events

Apollo John F. Kennedy Space Center
Apollo 13
Where Apollo 13 took place and launched, was at the complex 39A at the Kennedy Space Center.
It happened at 2:13 p.m. EST, April 11, 1970. What had caused it to orbit the moon and come
back, was a ciple in the oxygen tank. One thing that happened was on the Apollo 13 spacecraft, a
oxygen tank was crippled and they had to orbit the moon and return home. The main event was that
for the third time, they successfully lifted off once more, just to run into a problem with the oxygen
tank. The people involved (meaning on the Apollo 13) were: Fred Haise, Jack Swigert, and Jim
Lovell. It kind of ties in with Apollo 11 because they both went to the moon but, Apollo 11 was
made up to beat the Soviet Union in the Space Race by John F. Kennedy. Apollo 13 ties in with the
three theme words, Exploration, Encounter, Exchange in these three different ways: Exploration,
they explored outer space and learned many new things about plants, if anything grows on the
planets, if anything lived there they didn t know about, etc. Encounter, they encounter many new
materials (plastic is one of those things). They had encounter a cripple and the oxygen tank that
happened on the Apollo 13. Exchange, they exchanged ideas about what to do about the cripple of
the one of the oxygen tank. They were trying to exchange communication on how they were doing
in space. A fun fact about Apollo 13 is that it is the seventh manned mission in the American Apollo

Joy In The Bluest Eye Essay
Here is the truth. It is black and white. The ugliness of her environment personified in her face.
Press has evolved from educating the masses to publicizing for capitalism. Wright, J. C., Huston s

Most vividly, media skews what is believed to be joy and beauty. Joy is extended pleasure, but
with time, joy can bring pain. Zadie Smiths Joy details her navigate through life as she finds
pleasure in the small things, but ultimately finds joy in the larger aspects of her life. Joy is living

Therefore, in this study, the relationship between training and job performance among
academicians will be testable to investigate the relationship between variables. Statement of The
Problem The implementation of training will result to the changes of job performance.
Typically, in profits organization, performance can be measure in many ways for example in
term of financial can be refer to the number of sales made by effective employees, and in term of
operational is referred to the employees effectiveness of solving problem or management
effectives. (Safdar, Rehman, Waheed amp; Rafiq, as cited in Curtis, et al. 1995). Training is also
crucial to the employees as without an adequate training, poorly trained employees may do not
perform well in their job task and lead to poor job performance (Robert amp; John 2004).
Especially in education field, the institution is a non profits organization. Springer, M., amp;
Gardner, C., (2010) stated that, the performance measurement on lecturer is different and more
complex than the business profits worker for example, the number of sale is can be calculate by
how much the product have been sold to the customer. This is obviously different because from the
profession of teaching as they are providing services that is teaching and mentoring their students,
which also happens to be their clients. The academicians will give a contribution to the

Little researches have been conducted on the relationship between testosterone levels and

Rene Descartes Meditations Of Philosophy
Philosophy 120: Knowledge and Reality
Submitted to Dogan Erisen D106
By: Milad Marghoob Zamany (301 314 568)
Descartes begins the Meditations of Philosophy by rendering the use of the senses as deceptive,
explaining that everything that he had perceived up till now, I accepted as most true I have
acquired either from the senses or through the senses (M.O.P,12). On the other hand, Descartes
admits that God has given us the involuntary use of these senses. If the senses cannot precisely
represent the nature of material bodies, would this not make god a deceiver? Would it not be a
wiser choice to make the intellect the essential means of perceiving the world? Descartes pursues
the idea that God cannot be a deceiver; but if God ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

not, by explaining that our senses allow us to perceive harm and allow us to avoid danger for our
own well being. In other words, God is merely giving us the most apparent way of avoiding harm
for our own benefit. Thus, eliminating the idea of a deceiving

Influential Factors for an Effective Leader
Were CP China s changes to the CMF marketing launch program justifiable?
Burton s objective was to market Colgate Max Fresh (CMF) as global venture. Each country had
its own assumptions and trends that would make certain products popular. For CMF to appeal to a
Chinese market it had to investigate and target those specific selling appeals.
Del Levin, who was in charge of conducting R D for Colgate in Asia, discovered that that whilst a
potentially huge market existed for the product it being that Asia had a large freshness segment it
had to be marketed in a particular way in order to best appeal to the Asian consumer. Firstly, the
name itself Colgate Max Fresh did not appeal as well as other names in China would; the name was
therefore changed to Icy Fresh . Secondly, original marketing that used breath strips was
meaningless to an Asian market and would have been better modified to cooling crystals which was
more relevant and meaningful to Chinese consumers
Consumer surveys targeted to the Asian public carefully investigated the various nuances that
would make the product successful in China and, to that end, discovered that freshness was still a
relatively new concept to this particular market and that, therefore, careful research would have to
be done in order to precisely assess potential selling points. It would have to be the youth who
would be targeted and they would be targeted at an emotional level. Emily Proctor and her role
were unknown in China, and,

Informative Speech On Blood Donation
Purpose: To persuade the audience to donate blood regularly if their blood is safe and if they are
able to transfer to another human being.
Thesis: People should donate blood, it helps saves lives through a relatively simple and painless
process that provides numerous benefits to the donor.
Claim: Value
Organizational Pattern: Motivated sequence
Introduction
Attention Getter: On October 1st of 2017 a gunman opened fire on a crowd of 22,000
concertgoers 58 of those concertgoers were killed and 546 people were injured. Many citizens
responded not by turning away but by reaching out. And as soon as they heard donations for blood
were needed they drove straight to the blood bank. Each and everyone of those people that donated
were heroes saving millions of lives that were injured that tragic night.
Relevance. According to the Miller Keystone Blood Center 25% or more of us will require
blood at least once in our lifetime. That means that 1 in 4 of us will either live or die depending
on if the blood bank has enough blood stored up for us from the donations.
Credibility. Through extensive research and personal experience of giving blood, I have learned
how important it is to donate blood. I know some of you may hate the thought of needles or think
that giving blood won t really help. But, please consider what I say and make a better informed

Do the Right Thing Film Analysis
Do the Right Thing Film Analysis
Violence as a way of achieving racial justice is both impractical and immoral. It is impractical
because it is a descending spiral ending in destruction for all. (Martin Luther King Jr.). Violence
and racism are both important motifs in, Do the Right Thing (Lee, 1989). They are prominent in
almost every scene of the film and lead to the climax when Radio Raheem is killed by the police.
Spike Lee used many different directorial techniques in his movie. Heat and music were an
example of this and were prominent throughout the movie. They were clever ways that Lee got

The only thing that the people gained from exerting violence and burning down Sal s pizzeria
was self satisfaction. They thought they were being the big man when really they just burnt down
one of their main food sources in the neighborhood. The people of this Brooklyn neighborhood
needed to come together when trouble was afoot, but failed to do so. They learned their lesson
that violence is not the answer, the only way they can lead civil lives is by eliminating violence
and getting educated on their racial views. Do the Right Thing was an eye opening movie that
brought across many controversial topics that are important to address. Spike Lee did a good
job incorporating so many different ideas into the movie, each character represented something
important and not one person was a waste to the movie. The in your face attitude of Lee helped
showcase his ideas in the film, he simply would not let you look the other way. Heat was one
way he brought you into the movie, it was included in almost every scene of the film. Every
conversation had at least one part that complained about the heat, everyone was hot all the time.
Senor Love would say it every day on his radio show, The forecast for today is, HOT! . I think the
heat added to the tension between the characters because heat can make you uneasy and lead to
confrontations that usually do not happen. Heat and music, as well as violence and racial

(Hudson); the statistics were likely similar at the time of the comic s release. Given this data,
along with the fact that the pronoun we, as opposed to they, includes Miller and Lee among
Vale s admirers, the we in the script is clearly adult heterosexual males. Miller wants his straight
male readers to be so arrested by the image of Vale s buttocks that they are unable to look away.
He makes explicit the goal of the panel: to appeal directly to the male gaze and thus totally
engage the comic s readership. An additional important detail is the inclusion of speech bubbles
with an image not of Vale s face or hands, parts of her body with agency and expression, but with
an image of her lingerie clad buttocks. In a sense, Vale s buttocks are the part of her that is
addressing the reader; they are, in Miller s estimation, a suitable embodiment of her character.
Unsurprisingly, no panels with close ups of Batman s buttocks as he speaks are included in the

Essay on Production History of Hamlet
Production History Hamlet
William Shakespeare s Hamlet is one of the most produced plays of all time. Written during the
height of Shakespeare s fame 1600 Hamlet has been read, produced, and researched by more
individuals now than during Shakespeare s own lifetime. It is has very few stage directions,
because Shakespeare served as the director, even though no such official position existed at the
time. Throughout its over 400 years of production history, Hamlet has seen several changes. Several
textual cuts have been made, in addition to the liberties taken through each production. In recent
years, Hamlet has seen character changes, plot changes, gender role reversals, alternate endings,
time period shifts, and thematic alternations, to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Instead of taking immediate action, Hamlet declares to devote himself to the cause. Eventually,
Hamlet becomes incredibly contemplative, and decides to feign lunacy in order to research the
happenings surrounding his father s death.
Hamlet s lunacy becomes quite real at points, and he enters into a deep melancholy. King Claudius
and Queen Gertrude bring Hamlet s schoolmates Rosencrantz and Guildenstern to probe Hamlet
and find the source of his sorrow. Polonious, a pompous, yet loyal, man to Claudius, suggests that
Hamlet is madly in love with his daughter Ophelia. It is during this time Polonius famous brevity is

King and Queen his hypothesis. Claudius tests this theory by spying on Hamlet and Ophelia s
interaction with Polonius, however, Hamlet appears thoroughly insane after screaming at Ophelia
and telling her to get thee to a nunnery.
Hamlet decides to test his uncle when an acting troupe arrives in Elsinore. He informs the actors
to perform a scene very similar to the actual way his father was murdered. Hamlet is sure that
Claudius will react if he is guilty, and his suspicions are confirmed when Claudius jumps from his
chair and leaves the room upon seeing the final murder scene. When Hamlet goes to kill Claudius
he finds him in prayer and decides not to kill him, because killing Claudius in

Judicial Review Proceedings Essay
Judicial Review Proceedings Introduction ============ Judicial review proceedings exist to
ensure that lower courts and administrative bodies do not act beyond or at variance with their
inherent powers. If they do act in such a way, the reviewing court[1] will take action to rectify.
Where discretionary powers given to administrative bodies are abused, the court will usually grant
an order of certiorari quashing the decision. Generally, this will only be done if some aspect of the
decision making process is corrupt and not because the court merely disagrees with the conclusion
arrived at[2]. If the decision is set aside, then the facts of that particular case have cumulated in the

Assess The Importance Of Carbohydrates
Carbohydrates:
It is recommended that at least 50 60% of your daily calorie intake comes from carbohydrates.
This about 4 5kg of carbohydrates per kilogram of body weight for the average person. This would
be more depending on the amount of exercise that each person does.
Carbohydrates are either starches or sugars. Starchy foods, especially those that are unrefined
such as whole grain bread, rice, pasta, cereals and potatoes, provide a steady supply of energy.
However, these foods can be filling. To achieve optimal carbohydratestores, the sportsperson may
need to top up with sugary sources that are more rapidly absorbed like sweets, dried fruit, fruit
juice, and sugary or sports drinks. Fats:
Fats provide a good and concentrated source of energy and it the most predominant fuel for low
intensity activity. If you eat less fat you can eat more carbohydrates. A typical UK diet consists of
40% the total calorie intake being from fats. However it is recommended that this fat intake is kept
between 30 35%. And also for those who are taking part in regular exercise they must low this

Sources of protein may come from meat, fish, eggs and dairy products. Large amounts of protein
will not improve performance or muscle mass. That can only be achieved with the appropriate and

average UK diet significantly exceeds the Dietary Reference Value nutrient intake for protein set at
45 g per day for a female and 55.5 g per day for a male.
It is recommended by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) that the protein intake should be
intake of 1.2 1.7 g per kilogram body weight per day. This is what is recommended for Olympic
athletes undergoing intensive training

John Searle
In Minds, Brains, and Programs, John Searle provided various counterarguments to the proposition
that strong artificial intelligence is similar to human cognition and that machines are able to have
similar cognitive experiences as humans, such as having intentions, as long as it has the right
program. The purpose of this article was to demonstrate opposing approaches, which outlined that
the theory of strong AI is flawed. The author did this by providing examples of how to disqualify
the support for the theoretical perspective that machines, even though they have the appropriate
programming, still cannot understand as humans do. Through various explanations and replies to
the arguments, Searle makes his point and give examples of the promises.... Show more content on

This is a common acceptance in the field and Searle addresses the flaws in the argument. Searle
does a great job in incorporating previous research and using it to support his arguments. The
hypothesis is stated in the document and his opinions to each of the responses are clearly stated and
outlined in a generalized, simple, manner. The objective was to overall, provide arguments that
support that there is another mechanism towards understanding. In the author s first argument, he
states that if you give a native English individual a set of instructions to formulate an output, then
he will give you the information once he follows the instructions. This is similar to machines in the
way that they follow computations and as a result give an output. His argument in this case
suggests that although there is indeed an output, but the individual did not understand the
instruction s, rather, they simply memorized them. This is a strong point as in both instances there
is a same result, but the machine does not have any significance to the output, thus supporting the

Change In The Arctic Ocean
Since the beginning of the Industrial Revolution in the early 1800s, humans have been releasing
ever increasing amounts of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere by burning fossil fuels.
About half of that man made CO2 has been absorbed by the oceans, increasing the concentration
of carbonic acid, which has caused the oceans to become more acidic. Over the past 300 million
years, ocean pH has averaged about 8.2. Today, it is around 8.1, a 25% increase in acidity over
the past two centuries. That increase is projected to reach 150% by the end of this century, a rate
of change not seen in 65 million years. A more acidic ocean inhibits shell growth in marine animals

We are not able to predict all the nuances of climate change, but a few are obvious. The planet s
winds are driven in large part by the temperature difference between the poles and the tropics.
Since the Arctic is heating faster than the tropics, the temperature difference is decreasing and
wind speeds are slowing. They have already slowed in the northern hemisphere by between 5 and
15% in the past 30 years. One consequence of reduced winds is erratic behavior of the northern jet
stream, the oscillations of which sometimes bring cold air south and warm air north. More erratic
oscillations could cause blizzards, tropical cyclones, droughts and heat waves in unexpected places
at unexpected times. Our computer models are not robust enough to predict what and where.
Ocean currents also will change because of global warming. The melting of Arctic ice dilutes salt
water moving north from the tropics in the Gulf Stream, making the water less dense, and thus less
inclined to sink for the return journey. The warming Arctic Ocean reduces the temperature
differentials that drive ocean currents. Changing ocean currents will have effects on everything
from the Indian monsoons to the pattern of El NiГ±o to the surprisingly moderate climate now
enjoyed in northern

In the years leading up to the Peloponnesian War, Athens and Sparta formed a successful alliance
defending Hellas from a Persian invasion. This alliance dissolved soon after leaving two
independent city states in its place. Athens possessed a robust naval force and Sparta possessed a
formidable military force. Each possessed unique systems of government and policies that defined
markedly different approaches for relationships with their respective allies. These policies shaped
the strategies that each city state developed and implemented during the 27 year Peloponnesian War

Han Dynasty Classical Music
The Han period was called the classical time of China because of their music, poetry, and their
Confucian beliefs. According to definitions. Net classical means of or relating to the most highly

People today are still proud to call themselves the people of Han . (New world Encyclopedia) The
Han dynastywas the Eastern world s equivalent of the Western world s Rome.
The Chinese are one of the oldest civilizations in the world, but they are also the first people in
history to create an actual musical scale. One of the main organizing principles of the Chinese music
scale are centered around the minor third and major sixth intervals. The preference for those
specific intervals mask the semitones of the Chinese scale which gives it that very distinctive tone
that is often difficult to discern for those of us in the western world. Chinese musical compositions
also utilize a system of intervals, built upon both thirds and fourths. (NatGeo.com) Therefore we
can assume that much of the worlds music to come after this was based loosely upon the Chinese
ideals. This gives the music of China, especially that of the Han dynasty the classification of
classical .
The ancient Chinese defined a series of 12 frequencies called the lГј lГј . Various sets of five, or

Motor Vehicle Safety Essay
Problem Statement:
Motor vehicle accidents are one of the leading causes of death in the United States, and are the
leading cause of death in children aged 13 and under [1]. In 2015, 220 per one million children
under the age of 4 were involved in fatal motor vehicle accidents [1]. In addition to motor vehicle
accidents, improper uses of Child Restraint Systems (CRS) in cars are known to cause an
increased risk of injury. Targeting the specific aspect of children being incorrectly fastened to their
car seats could possibly prevent injuries and/or deaths due to motor vehicle accidents. These deaths
are a topic of concern due to that fact that children need more protection in vehicles than adults do.
According to PennDOT, children under age four must be securely fastened in a federally
approved child passenger restraint system (CRS) [2]. However, there are multiple studies and
statistics that show that many families do not know how to correctly use a child car seat. A
Canadian study, which observed more than 13,000 children, noted that approximately only 90%
were using car seats. Of these, only 60% were using the correct type of car seat, with only 20% of

Importance Of Personal Goals In Life
Since I was young, I knew exactly what I wanted to do in life, to be successful and happy. My
whole life, I have been surrounded by prosperous family members and family friends. Growing
up around these people, I came to acknowledge that they had a sense of stability and happiness
about them because they got to get up every morning and go to a job they love. However, what I
admired most is their success did not come easy, they worked hard to become the respected
people they are today. This assisted me in adapting three strong core values: personal growth,
entrepreneurship, and respect. Although I grew up with a successful family, I learned that
success does not come easy. Nowadays, people are led to believe they do not have to exert any
effort to become successful, and they could just lean on their family s prosperity. My family was
raised in the middle to upper class, but they were all parented to know they had to earn it
themselves and that they had to work for what they want; they couldn t turn to their family for
assistance. Therefore, I was also raised with this view. This developed my value of personal growth.

As soon as a person has admitted that he/she has a concept of God , by this argument, then that
person has also admitted God s existence (in the same way that admitting you have the concept
of a triangle is, is to admit that a triangle has three angles). Like most of Kant s topics of
discussion, it is difficult to fully grasp the entirety of what is being said. However, unlike most
other cases, this time I don t think it s entirely his fault. In fact, his refutation to this deceivingly
simple argument is (perhaps deceivingly) actually quite simple. Existence cannot be a predicate. In
the sentence Thomas is the teacher , the word is is not the predicate, but it is the word that implies
existence. Therefore, the sentence God is does not contain a predicate. A predicate is a word that
ads a quality to the concept of the thing it is applied to existence is not a quality. The cosmological
argument, according to Kant, is too well known for it to be necessary to expound it in detail here
(P570), so if you don t know it, you can join me in feeling like an idiot #8230; However, he then
goes on to quickly explain the argument. I also took the liberty of finding out where this argument
came from and it seems to have started with Aristotle and also used by Aquinas. Aristotle said that
the fact that there is movement could prove the existence of an unmoved mover (God). In other

Chris Benoit s Hall Of Fame
In professional wrestling, there are many moments that shock the wrestling world such as when
Hulk Hogan slammed Andre the Giant, the Rock vs. Stone Cold, and WWF buying WCW and
ECW. There is one moment that negatively shocked the wrestling world was the Chris Benoit
tragedy. Not only did this incident cost the lives of Benoit and his family, it also changed how
the WWE had to reevaluate their policies about concussions and steroids. After these many years
that have passed, fans are still asking the question: will Chris Benoit ever be the WWE Hall of
Fame? There has been several arguments on both sides as should Chris Benoit be in the WWE
Hall of Fame. Even though Benoit is a great wrestler and one of the best technical wrestlers of all
time,

USpreme Court Case Summary
I selected the oral argument in the United States Supreme Court case Teva Pharmaceuticals USA,
Inc. v. Sandoz, Inc., No. 13 854 (argued, October 2014). This argument was presented on October
15, 2014. First I will provide a summary of the prosecution history behind this case. Teva
Pharmaceuticals USA created a multiple sclerosis drug called Copaxone and subsequently obtained
a patent for the drug. Sandoz Inc. desired to create a generic version of Copaxone and submitted
their request to the Food and Drug Administration. In 2012, Teva sued Sandoz in the U.S. District
Court for the Southern District of New York on the grounds of patent infringement. The District
Court then considered the patent through claims construction by examining the patent s plain
language and its prosecution history. Then, the court examined expert testimony and the public
record to the patent in order to see if the terms were definite. The... Show more content on

Supreme Court initiated with Mr. Jay s oral argument for Teva. He stated that the Federal Circuit
s finding was that facts are not involved in claim construction. He asserted that facts could be
involved in a claim construction case. They are involved when the trial judge discovers what a
skilled person in the art knows as necessary and vital to interpreting the patent. He also noted that
the Federal Circuit Court should have applied in determining its holding on the case. First, he
noted that the Federal Circuit did not concede to the trial court determination about the accepted
meaning of the term average molecular weight in the framework of the case. Secondly, he stated
that the Federal Circuit did not defer to what the District court found to terminate an argument
about Figure 1 in the case in regard to where the peak in the curve exists. The final fact Mr. Jay
forwarded was that the Federal Circuit did not determine how a person of ordinary skill in the art
would have viewed a part of the prosecution

How Did Christianity Influence Medieval Literature
The Medieval Period was a time in history that lasted from the 5th Century to the 16th Century.
Medieval literature has been hugely influential in modern popular culture. During the middle Ages,
a great emphasis was placed on the combination of fantasy and reality. Though characters were
given human characteristics, their personalities transcended to those of fabricated figures as of
God, Saints, and brave leaders. The Middle English period features a host of firsts in English
literature, such as the first romance, drama, autobiography, fiction, and the first woman writer in
English history. That period was a gateway for cultural movement for later centuries such as the
Renaissance, Romanticism and so on. Furthermore, there was a great influence of Christianity on
the literature since Christianity was only religion at that time. Positive impact in literature was
very notable by the presence of Christianity. Middle age shows how the romance of medieval
England engages with its Christin culture. Sir Gawain and the Green Knight and Malory s Morte
Darthur, establishes the importance of reading romances and culture represented by Christianity.
Heroism, loyalty, personal honor and chivalry were addressed in this period by every author.
Nature and status of women was one of the challenging parts for the medieval period. At... Show

Paradoxical Vocal Cord And Its Effects On The Emergency...
Paradoxical Vocal Cord Motion Disorder
Vocal Cord Dysfunction
A twenty year old female is admitted to the emergency room with symptoms of respiratory distress.
The symptoms began during a soccer game and came on suddenly. Signs included observed
dyspnea, coughing, wheezing, and signs of cyanosis and chief complaint of shortness of breath.
Patient had previously been diagnosed with exercise induced asthma and has used her Albuterol
inhaler, as instructed, at the time of attack with no relief. The acute attack continues for about 10
more minutes and then the symptoms subside spontaneously and her respiration returns to normal
without any other interventions. Although her symptoms appear to be consistent with an asthma
attack the lack of response to traditional treatments for asthma call for further investigation. Many
individuals who suffer from Paradoxical Vocal Cord Motion Disorder (PVCM) have experienced
this first hand. PVCM is a disorder that closely mimics asthma leading to difficult and often
misdiagnoses, unnecessary interventions and medications. Never heard of PVCM? It was first
noted by Dunglison in 1842 as laryngospasms brought on by hysteria, he called it Hysteria Croup.
In 1869 the closing of the vocal cords during inspiration was first visualize using laryngoscopy and
was determined to be the cause of the stridor heard upon inspiration during an attack (Ibrahim,
Gheriani Raza, 2007). Throughout the past it has been called many names including

Dr. Dre s Success In The Music Industry
It s always weird when people approach me to make an investment. I tell them, I don t need any
more money. I m good. Then I wait for their expression. That part is entertaining, because people
look at you like you re crazy when you say you don t need any more money. Who says that? ,
said Dr. Dre when asked about his fortune. Andre Ramelle Young, also know as Dr. Dre is one of
the most influential hip hop artists and producers of all time. Dr. Dre came from next to nothing

Essay On Muscular Dystrophy
Muscular dystrophy is a lethal sex linked disorder characterised by progressive muscle weakness
and muscle degeneration. It has been a medical problem for many years. In particularly
Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) for it is the most frequently occurring and one of the
most rapidly progressive in children neuromuscular disorders (MDA, 2015). DMD affects
approximately 1 in 3600 live male births throughout the whole world (MDA, 2015). DMD can
cause or create an array of difficulties for diagnosed patients depending on how bad the patient s
case of DMD is. This is all as a result of the faulty or lack of the dystrophin gene, making it
incredibly difficult for these patients to do simple activities like walking and running.
Currently there is no cure for DMD, but certain exercise therapy and muscle building medicines to
slow down or reverse the progression of muscular dystrophy. Other treatments are being tested to
see if they could control or suppress the symptoms of DMD. These treatments include; albuterol,
amino acids, coenzyme Q10, carnitine, fish oil, creatine, green tea extracts and vitamin E
(Haldeman Englert, 2015). Despite these few temporary treatments it is said that gene therapy
could be used for human trials are very close to occurring. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

three years longer than the boys who are not treated with steroids (MDA, 2015). The steroids can
also help heart problems and curvature of the spine for a medium period of time. Through the
DMD patients using steroids since it has been introduced the life expectancy of DMD patients has

Daddy s Hands Research Paper
Daddy s Hands
Teenage girls lives are shaped in many different ways. Everything is a big deal to a teenage girl;
what she wears, what she participates in, and who she dates. A girl s relationship with her father
strongly influences her life. Whether the relationship with her father is good or bad, the daughter
will be effected by it. There are four main types of fathers: the Absentee Father, the Intermittent
Father, the Abusive Father, and the Perfect Father. A father s relationship with his daughter
influences her opinion of men, therefore she judges every man based on her father s example.
This impacts her dating life, social life, and leads to more relationship issues with men throughout
life. A girl s life is greatly impacted by her... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In an article about fathers leaving affecting his daughters, it says, As the first man in her life, the
young girl s father creates the prototype for her ideal partner consciously and unconsciously. He
goes on to be experienced by his pubescent daughter as the mirror on the wall the ultimate
reflection, not only of her fairness but her desirability (Kavanagh, 2002). A father is the man she
loved first and is supposed to be a little girl s favorite man. Her daddy is the person who is
supposed to be there for her from the moment she is born, to the moment he dies. The Perfect
Father is the most important man in his daughter s life and is involved in all her decisions. This
may cause the daughter to be indecisive because she relies too much on her father. It may lead
to the daughter comparing every man to her father, and some may not measure up. Some girls
even look for a man to marry that is exactly like her father. In my opinion, I think that having
your father be the role model for a future husband is ideal. A girl is used to the way her father acts
and finding someone like him would be an easy transition. The Perfect Father may not always be
the ideal father for everyone, but for me it

Importance Of A Flower In My Life
Cake, flowers, presents, flowers, family, flowers. Never before did I think a flower could change
my life. The one flower, just one of millions, changed everything. It wasn t just a flower. No, it
was far more. Everything changed. The people, the places, the activities. Everything in my life
changed. My life was taken on a rollercoaster. It was flipped. It was turned upside turn. It climbed
high, just to fall back down. When it would reach the top of the climb, I would feel as if I was
free falling and never going to stop. My stomach would leap from my chest, just as it did the
many times I was frightened. I would corkscrew through uncertain times. Only it wasn t just on a
ride. I couldn t tell myself it was just for fun or that it was going to be over soon, because I didn t
know that. My stomach would lurch and I would sometimes just stay still, completely petrified.
Not knowing what to do, who to talk to, or what to say. I didn t know the next step I should take.
Any one step in the wrong direction could make me fall right off the track. Many times, I would
try to take small steps, to avoid falling off the track. Although, sometimes a roller coaster would
come from behind and hit me. I didn t figure out who to trust early enough and I would be on my
own against the one who wanted my to fall. Then my mindwould go back to the flower. I can picture
that flower in my head, like it was only yesterday. The image is crisp in my mind. Some other
things are

Stargirl Analysis
Here s a heads up about STARGIRL: most of the novel is trying to summarize Stargirl Caraway,
but that is where the problem lies. She cannot be contained. She can t be boxed up and tied with
a pretty ribbon she is a free spirit, she is like another species, according to Kevin (Spinelli 32).
She doesn t care what people think at all. From the first day at Mica High, Stargirl is an odd
duckling. She doesn t quite understand all the unwritten rules at her new school either, so she just
goes along doing her thing. She sings Happy Birthday to complete strangers, cheers for people
picking up litter, and performs impromptu halftime shows. She wears victorian dresses, a kimono, a
flapper dress, an Indian buckskin, and much more. No matter... Show more content on

According to Archie, She seems to be in touch with what some of us are missing, (102).
Teaching just comes to her naturally: she points out little things she notices, like the beauty of
an old man sitting on a bench. Through her observations, Leo comes to a realization that he
walked in a grey world of nothings, (108). Stargirl is also the victim of intense bullying. Leo
says it best: Classrooms, hallways, courtyard, lunchroom everywhere I went I heard her
disparaged, mocked, slurred, (165). But here s the thing, Stargirl doesn t notice. She isn t like
your average teenager wrapped up in herself and if people judge her. She is too busy being
compassionate towards the same people who treat her like chopped liver. Stargirl doesn t let it
bring her down; she just continues being the friendliest girl in school. Overall, Stargirl girl is a
quirky, free spirit, who doesn t care what people think about her. She is content with one or two
friends, and doesn t even notice people insulting her. She connects with the universe in a much
deeper level than anyone else, and that gets passed on to those who spend time with her. She is so
incredibly cheery and compassionate, even to those who do not reciprocate, which shows a lot on
her part. Stargirl is a rare bird,

World Gains From Optimism
What the world gains from Optimism:
Usually, when you think of an optimist, you might think of a bright cheery person wearing bright
happy colors skipping happily down a sidewalk, right? And while that sounds like a wonderful
way to live, that s not quite how optimism always looks. (But hey, if it works for you, be my
guest!) Optimism is often overlooked and misunderstood in today s society. We really have no
idea how beneficial the effects of optimism are for us. From healthier hearts to even living longer,
optimism sure is a helpful tool that s easily accessible and makes the journey of life a lot more fun!
Optimism shockingly, has a direct correlation to physical health as seen in many researches
conducted by multiple people. A healthier... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Researchers actually found that individual factors like age, income level, education, gender, etc.
had a smaller than expected impact on optimism, and that national factors like GDP and life
expectancy didn t really have an impact on optimism at all. So really no matter how harsh the
circumstances, we all can be positive.
Findings from a study conducted a few years ago by neuroscientist Elizabeth Phelps suggest that
directing our thoughts of the future toward the positive is a result of our frontal cortex
communicating with subcortical regions deep in our brain. The frontal cortex, a large area behind
the forehead, is the most recently evolved part of the brain. It is larger in humans than in other
primates and is critical for many complex human functions such as language and goal setting. We
just have to use that frontal cortex and decide to choose the positive route.
So now we know how beneficial it is for us to use that daily optimistic thinking. From heart
health, boosted immune systems, and longer lives optimism can do it all for us. Lots of people
in our society don t always adapt to this system because of older primal habit, but as proven,
anyone can change to the positive side as long as their willing. So are you ready to smile nonstop,
wear bright clothes, and skip everywhere? Let s be

Similarities Between English American And French Revolutions The future of a country is somewhat contrasted through distinguished moments in history, the English, American and French revolutions proved this theory by shaping the countries into the powerhouses they are today, all of which have some similarities in the general causes that lead to the countries rebelling and eventually creating a new political and social order. The first of the three, the English Great Rebellion was the result of the monarchy and its following fighting the wishes of parliament throughout the 1640 s. Since then, privatization of public sectors has been a key factor of structural reform programs in both developed and developing countries (Sheshinski Lopez Calva, 2003). The process of transferring ownership of public services from the public sector(the part which is controlled by government) to private sectors (the part which is owned and controlled by private party) is called privatization(Investopia, 2013). Secondarily, it is to improve the public sector s financial health and to free resources for allocation in other important areas of government activity usually related to social policy (Sheshinski Lopez Calva, 2003). For the next ones, they explain that these reduce the level of borrowing and reallocate the possible expenditure towards social policy areas, and these are connected to public sector finance. In 1867, when the first passage about the Alamo was written, and in 1840, when the first passage about the Mexican American War was written, it was quite apparent that the people writing these were not telling the full truth about the two events as it was shown that in the writing of the Alamo, the author only said that David (Davy) Crockette was probably killed. On the other hand, Descartes admits that God has given us the involuntary use of these senses. Burton s objective was to market Colgate Max Fresh (CMF) as global venture. Each country had its own assumptions and trends that would make certain products popular. For CMF to appeal to a Chinese market it had to investigate and target those specific selling appeals. Del Levin, who was in charge of conducting R D for Colgate in Asia, discovered that that whilst a potentially huge market existed for the product it being that Asia had a large freshness segment it had to be marketed in a particular way in order to best appeal to the Asian consumer. Firstly, the name itself Colgate Max Fresh did not appeal as well as other names in China would; the name was therefore changed to Icy Fresh . Secondly, original marketing that used breath strips was meaningless to an Asian market and would have been better modified to cooling crystals which was more relevant and meaningful to Chinese consumers Consumer surveys targeted to the Asian public carefully investigated the various nuances that would make the product successful in China and, to that end, discovered that freshness was still a relatively new concept to this particular market and that, therefore, careful research would have to be done in order to precisely assess potential selling points. It is impractical because it is a descending spiral ending in destruction for all. (Martin Luther King Jr.). Violence and racism are both important motifs in, Do the Right Thing (Lee, 1989). They are prominent in almost every scene of the film and lead to the climax when Radio Raheem is killed by the police. Spike Lee used many different directorial techniques in his movie. Do the Right Thing was an eye opening movie that brought across many controversial topics that are important to address. Spike Lee did a good job incorporating so many different ideas into the movie, each character represented something important and not one person was a waste to the movie. Jim Lee Biography Primary Source: ASS SHOT In 2005, the first issue of the series All Star Batman And Robin, the Boy Wonder by author Frank Miller and illustrator Jim Lee was published by DC Comics. In this initial installment, Batman/Bruce Wayne s main love interest, the red headed and curvaceous Vicki Vale, is introduced in a sequence in which she walks around her apartment wearing only pink lingerie and high heels. One panel of the sequence is, noticeably, a close up of Vale s buttocks in tight underwear (Miller and Lee). Nine years later, Miller s original instructions to Lee regarding the close up panel were included in a special edition of a collection of the comics: OK, Jim, I m shameless. Miller wants his straight male readers to be so arrested by the image of Vale s buttocks that they are unable to look away. He makes explicit the goal of the panel: to appeal directly to the male gaze and thus totally engage the comic s readership. An additional important detail is the inclusion of speech bubbles with an image not of Vale s face or hands, parts of her body with agency and expression, but with an image of her lingerie clad buttocks. We are not able to predict all the nuances of climate change, but a few are obvious. The planet s winds are driven in large part by the temperature difference between the poles and the tropics. Since the Arctic is heating faster than the tropics, the temperature difference is decreasing and wind speeds are slowing. They have already slowed in the northern hemisphere by between 5 and 15% in the past 30 years. One consequence of reduced winds is erratic behavior of the northern jet stream, the oscillations of which sometimes bring cold air south and warm air north. More erratic oscillations could cause blizzards, tropical cyclones, droughts and heat waves in unexpected places at unexpected times. Our computer models are not robust enough to predict what and where. Ocean currents also will change because of global warming. The melting of Arctic ice dilutes salt water moving north from the tropics in the Gulf Stream, making the water less dense, and thus less inclined to sink for the return journey. The warming Arctic Ocean reduces the temperature differentials that drive ocean currents. She has finally come up with a method to get away from her husband in this decision. Throughout the rest of the story it is not once said that the wife came to love her new husband or her family, on the contrary, she does not seem happy in the following scenes. However, being afraid of her husband and his emotional violence, it is rational that she would try to find safety with someone else, even if that means giving away her love, likely the appearance of such rather than actual love and her ... • 38. Kant s Refutations of the Proofs of the Existence of God... Kant s Refutations of the Proofs of the Existence of God There are three types of proof for the existance of God: The Ontological Proof: God is the most perfect conceivable being. Existence is moreperfect than non existence. God by definition exists. The Cosmological Proof: Everything contingent must have a cause. If this cause is alsocontingent, then it too must also have a cause. This chain ofcauses and effects must have a beginning a necessary cause. Thisnecessary cause must be God. The Physico Theological Proof: Observations about the particular constitution of the sensible world provide proof of the existence of God. As we saw earlier in the CPR, there are ... As soon as a person has admitted that he/she has a concept of God , by this argument, then that person has also admitted God s existence (in the same way that admitting you have the concept of a triangle is, is to admit that a triangle has three angles). Like most of Kant s topics of discussion, it is difficult to fully grasp the entirety of what is being said. However, unlike most other cases, this time I don t think it s entirely his fault. In fact, his refutation to this deceivingly simple argument is (perhaps deceivingly) actually quite simple. Existence cannot be a predicate. In the sentence Thomas is the teacher , the word is is not the predicate, but it is the word that implies existence. Therefore, the sentence God is does not contain a predicate. A predicate is a word that ads a quality to the concept of the thing it is applied to existence is not a quality. The cosmological argument, according to Kant, is too well known for it to be necessary to expound it in detail here (P570), so if you don t know it, you can join me in feeling like an idiot #8230; However, he then goes on to quickly explain the argument. I also took the liberty of finding out where this argument came from and it seems to have started with Aristotle and also used by Aquinas. Aristotle said that the fact that there is movement could prove the existence of an unmoved mover (God). In other words ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

There is one moment that negatively shocked the wrestling world was the Chris Benoit tragedy. Not only did this incident cost the lives of Benoit and his family, it also changed how the WWE had to reevaluate their policies about concussions and steroids. After these many years that have passed, fans are still asking the question: will Chris Benoit ever be the WWE Hall of Fame? This argument was presented on October 15, 2014. First I will provide a summary of the prosecution history behind this case. Teva Pharmaceuticals USA created a multiple sclerosis drug called Copaxone and subsequently obtained a patent for the drug. Sandoz Inc. desired to create a generic version of Copaxone and submitted their request to the Food and Drug Administration. In 2012, Teva sued Sandoz in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York on the grounds of patent infringement. The District Court then considered the patent through claims construction by examining the patent s plain language and its prosecution history. Then, the court examined expert testimony and the public record to the patent in order to see if the terms were definite. The... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He also noted that the Federal Circuit Court should have applied in determining its holding on the case. First, he noted that the Federal Circuit did not concede to the trial court determination about the accepted meaning of the term average molecular weight in the framework of the case. Secondly, he stated that the Federal Circuit did not defer to what the District court found to terminate an argument about Figure 1 in the case in regard to where the peak in the curve exists. • 41. How Did Christianity Influence Medieval Literature The Medieval Period was a time in history that lasted from the 5th Century to the 16th Century. Medieval literature has been hugely influential in modern popular culture. During the middle Ages, a great emphasis was placed on the combination of fantasy and reality. Though characters were given human characteristics, their personalities transcended to those of fabricated figures as of God, Saints, and brave leaders. The Middle English period features a host of firsts in English literature, such as the first romance, drama, autobiography, fiction, and the first woman writer in English history. That period was a gateway for cultural movement for later centuries such as the Renaissance, Romanticism and so on. Furthermore, there was a great influence of Christianity on the literature since Christianity was only religion at that time. Positive impact in literature was very notable by the presence of Christianity. Middle age shows how the romance of medieval England engages with its Christin culture. Sir Gawain and the Green Knight and Malory s Morte Darthur, establishes the importance of reading romances and culture represented by Christianity. Heroism, loyalty, personal honor and chivalry were addressed in this period by every author. Nature and status of women was one of the challenging parts for the medieval period. At... The one flower, just one of millions, changed everything. It wasn t just a flower. No, it was far more. Everything changed. The people, the places, the activities. Everything in my life changed. My life was taken on a rollercoaster. It was flipped. It was turned upside turn. It climbed high, just to fall back down. When it would reach the top of the climb, I would feel as if I was free falling and never going to stop. My stomach would leap from my chest, just as it did the many times I was frightened. I would corkscrew through uncertain times. Only it wasn t just on a ride. I couldn t tell myself it was just for fun or that it was going to be over soon, because I didn t know that. My stomach would lurch and I would sometimes just stay still, completely petrified. Not knowing what to do, who to talk to, or what to say. I didn t know the next step I should take. Any one step in the wrong direction could make me fall right off the track. Many times, I would try to take small steps, to avoid falling off the track. Although, sometimes a roller coaster would come from behind and hit me. I didn t figure out who to trust early enough and I would be on my own against the one who wanted my to fall. World Gains From Optimism What the world gains from Optimism: Usually, when you think of an optimist, you might think of a bright cheery person wearing bright happy colors skipping happily down a sidewalk, right? And while that sounds like a wonderful way to live, that s not quite how optimism always looks. (But hey, if it works for you, be my guest!) Optimism is often overlooked and misunderstood in today s society. We really have no idea how beneficial the effects of optimism are for us. Researchers actually found that individual factors like age, income level, education, gender, etc. had a smaller than expected impact on optimism, and that national factors like GDP and life expectancy didn t really have an impact on optimism at all. So really no matter how harsh the circumstances, we all can be positive. Findings from a study conducted a few years ago by neuroscientist Elizabeth Phelps suggest that directing our thoughts of the future toward the positive is a result of our frontal cortex communicating with subcortical regions deep in our brain. The frontal cortex, a large area behind the forehead, is the most recently evolved part of the brain. It is larger in humans than in other primates and is critical for many complex human functions such as language and goal setting. We just have to use that frontal cortex and decide to choose the positive route. So now we know how beneficial it is for us to use that daily optimistic thinking. From heart health, boosted immune systems, and longer lives optimism can do it all for us.
