instruction in Libguides will assist in achieving
the Library Media Center’s 2011-2012 goal of
    increasing transparency, transliteracy , and
    collaboration at HS North.
 The LMC is also using Google Calendar
appointment slots. Teachers are now able to
book class slots online using this feature.

 The book club met for the first time this year.
Many new students expressed interest, and we
selected our first book, Airman, by Eon Coffer.
 Library orientation this year included a discuss
of the TED talk, Beware the Filter Bubble, a
discussion on website credibility, as well as an
introduction to our growing YA Fiction and Non-
Fiction collection. Mrs. Stout looks forward to
working with the new freshman class this year!
Monthly Highlights
  --Professional Development

° Mrs. Stout introduced Tech Tuesdays to the staff.
Tech Tuesdays are intended to provide brief,
voluntary training on technology topics of interest to
the staff. As a result of the Tech Tuesday session on
using Weebly for class websites, many staff
members including Ms. Murphy and Mr. Wilson
created new class websites. They even included
RSS feeds so their students can stay up-to-date on
current events in their content areas.
