Mound Builders Another group of north Americans are known as the Mound builders. They lived mostly in the eastern half of what is now United States. The mound were built in different shapes and sizes. Others were built to look like snakes or birds.
Cahokia Mound The cahokia mound in the modern day state of illinois is one of the largest mounds. Shaped like a pyramids, it is 1,000 feet long, 300 feed wide, and 100 feet high. Scientists believe that 30.000 people might have lived at or near this mound.
