Ecolabelling Sweden is a non-profit state-owned agency that promotes the Nordic Ecolabel, the European equivalent of which is the EU Ecolabel. It sets criteria for third-party Type 1 environmental labels and is a member of the Global Ecolabelling Network. Petra Schagerholm from Ecolabelling Sweden discussed lobbying for non-toxic pre-schools in Sweden and Sweden's 16 environmental objectives which include climate impact reduction, clean air, natural acidification, a non-toxic environment, and thriving forests and wetlands. The Nordic Ecolabel criteria are independently audited and take a life-cycle perspective from cradle to grave.
