the transmission of messages or
information through means other
than words. It encompasses gestures,
facial expressions, body language,
posture, tone of voice, eye contact,
and other cues that convey meaning
in interpersonal interactions.
 Nonverbal communication often
complements verbal communication

conveying emotions, attitudes,
intentions, and relational dynamics.

 Using nonverbal communication is
important to enhance communication
because it complements verbal
messages, helps convey emotion and
attitudes accurately, builds rapport,
and foster understanding between
individuals.
 Nonverbal cues significantly impact
how a message is received and
interpreted, often conveying more
information than words alone.
 Effective nonverbal communication
can strengthen relationships, improve
clarity, and contribute to successful
interactions.
Why is it important to
use nonverbal
communication to
enhance
communication?
Someone nods their head while
listening to indicate
understanding or agreement
without saying anything.
Maintaining eye contact during a
conversation, which can convey
attentiveness, sincerity, and
