Emotions are the way we feel.

3. ANGRY(ANGER)
How do I know if someone is angry?
• Their face may be red
• Their voice may be loud
• Lips can look tight
• Eyebrows are squeezed together.
Have you ever felt angry? Talk about it with your partner. What was it like?
How can you tell someone you’re angry with them?

4. HAPPY(HAPPINESS/JOY)
How do we know if someone is happy?
• They may be smiling
• They may be laughing
• Eyes may look smaller/thinner
Have you ever felt happy? What did you act like? Share with your partner.

5. SAD(SADNESS)
How do we know if someone is sad?
• They may be frowning
• They may be crying
• They may have a hard time looking at you
• They may be very quiet
Have you ever been sad? What was it like? Talk about it with your partner.

6. SURPRISED(SURPRISE/SHOCK)
How do we know if someone is surprised?
• Their eyes get wide
• Mouth is open and wide
• Eyebrows are high
• Sometimes hands are on cheeks to show surprise

Pick the picture of your favorite emotion and color it in. Write 2 sentences
to describe that emotion.

13. I would use this smartboard presentation that I found in order to help teach
the kids how to express their emotions more effectively. I would follow
the lesson plan provided pretty closely in order to help discuss how we
express the different emotions.
I think this supports UDL because it uses both lecture, discussion, viewing
of a movie, and worksheet completion in order to get through the
lesson. Students get to learn through different mediums, and everyone
gets to participate equally in the lesson.
