A HAZARD FOR EARTH
 Solid waste is the unwanted or useless solid
materials generated from combined
residential, industrial and commercial
activities in a given area
 The combined effects of population
explosion and changing modern living
standards have a cumulative effect in the
generation of a large amount of various types
of waste.
 The objective of solid waste management to
control, collect, process, dispose of solid
waste in an economical way consistent with
the public health protection.
 India is know as one most populous country
in the world. Total population of India is 1.2
billion. With population solid waste also rise
up.
 Our prime minister Mr. Narendra Modi started
a campaign ‘Swach Bharat Abhiyan’on 2nd
october 2015 to make our India clean and
healthy.
 With the increasing of population the non
biodegradable substances are increasing day
by day. So, it is a need of time to impark
waste management something creative.
 The railways authority in Mumbai has decided to run
special ‘muck’ trains on a daily basis to collect the garbage
lying along the tracks.
 Earlier ,the special trains were run only occasionally.
 Central Railway General Manager DK Sharma also said that
the local civic body which is responsible for curbing
dumping of garbage was not doing its job.
 Maharashtra using the plastic waste to make pond to
prevent the water scarcity.
 In Walni village in Maharashtra’s Nagpur district observed
that their ponds were not retaining water. So, they get
perfect idea by using plastic waste.
 This method is now extended across the villages to make
the ponds.
 We have made this project to generate
awareness among the people that our planet,
Earth which has already became an ailing
planet due to many other factors and
pollutants, is suffering a major threat from
non- biodegradable waste (Plastic bags,
Water bottles, Metal cans, Scraps, Man made
fibres etc.) which do not break down or
degrade for many years. The wrong methods
of disposing this dangerous solid waste need
to be changed.
 The increasing threat to earth from these
solid wastes is urging us to do some project
on the efficient management of bio-
degradable waste that none of the human
beings, this beautiful planet Earth as well as
the coming future generations should suffer
from any kind of threat to life. If we will not
start thinking about that hazardous issue and
will not start taking some steps, then we will
regret later on and ultimately, we people will
be the sufferers of our own deeds.
 Plastic is a toxic element which do not degrade
over years and its pollution negatively affects
the natural environment causing harm not only
to air, water and land but to plants, wildlife and
human population also. The ill effects of Plastic
Pollution are irreversible. Sometimes animals do
eat the plastic on disposed off in the
surroundings and as a result they die. The
thrown away plastic slowly enters into landfills,
waterways and ecosystems and they harm the
fertility of land and also the ground water which
poses a danger for human beings and plants &
crops.
 The best outcome was that, this project
made us to think in the direction in which we
were not aware of that earlier.
 It helped us to see deep into the problems of
people as well as ecological imbalance.
 Now, India is a developing country. So, the
people of our India are becoming educated.
 Our Government take steps to make our
country fit and health. All Indians contribute
themselves for those schemes.
 We can maintain cleanness and reduce the
diseases by minimum use of plastic waste.
 The people should at least reduce the use of
plastic and other solid things into their day
to day lives. The Municipal Corporations of
the cities should adopt the recycling
approach which will gradually reduce the
pollution caused by these solid waste
material. The people should not dispose off
the solid waste as garbage in the
surroundings, rather than it can be used as a
material to make decorative and some other
useful things things which will save
environment along with creativity as we did
in our project.
 We are concluding this presentation by
conveying a message that if Earth has given
us a life, a beautiful place to sustain then its
our own duty than we should keep it clean
and safe and also should take corrective
steps to make it a better place to live rather
than destroying it, because we ultimately,
are going to do this thing for our own sake
and not for any other reason. If this will not
be done by now, then sooner, the heavenly
earth will become a hell for us.
