When I overcame misery, it was easier to change other problematic aspects of my life. I tried changing these aspects before, but I was unsuccessful. I learned that some of these aspects are the symptoms of happiness.
This is the day 2 powerpoint I created for the high school sex ed course I taught last week. The topic for day 2 was Healthy Relationships and Communication.
My observations of activities and thoughts that most happy people seem to practice. They are all easy to follow, simple to implement and cost absolutely nothing. All 12 "secrets" will allow you to improve the happiness in your life.

Until males understand the word 'no' humankind will continue to be bottom feeders
regardless of the charades of egos - bottom line! Are females any better? Probably
when it comes to avoiding physical violence, but most short change their happiness
through unsatisfying compromise. Millenniums of male abuse have become part of
their DNA. Today with all the advantages and benefits of methods to correct abuse,
the excuse is fading away, and for both male and female. Don't expect love of any
depth from either, beyond spurts and the initial 'foreplay' of biological love.!

People hear what they want to hear and disregard the rest, it’s called false perception, often to satisfy desires. Life
needs conscious, thought out barriers for a healthy life. Communication and agreements, with integrity, smooth the
roads of life’s challenges. Desires which don’t have the well being of others uppermost in the intent are ‘no’s’ to be
mindful of. Seek the ‘yes’, but not without not ignoring the negative that is necessary to expose disharmony in choices.
Everything chosen, and in all of life, must have ‘no’s’ or the negative to encourage better choices. !

Say ‘yes’ to avoiding the negative with a ‘no’! In everyday life, the real reason why we sometimes experience a lack of
real, deep lasting happiness in our lives is dependency. We are taught to make our happiness dependent on some
event, condition, person, object etc. Time to take a stand, and say no! This is why we keep delaying our happiness
until things are hopefully just right in our life. We think we will be happy in the future and then
wonder why we are not happy now. But life is never just right, and the future never comes – there is
only now! And that's why, in order to be happy we must make our
happiness a realistic yes decision, and not a dependency, which is
another way of saying ‘no’.!

To be able to accomplish being able to having the self control, it’s
important you pluck the plugs from the socket both by focus of choice
or improving consciousness through the ancient tool of mediation.
Whether it’s switching off your mobile or your brain, you need to
recharge your batteries. You may have heard this a gazillion times before, but reading a
book, listening to music, hiking in the mountains are activities that refresh your soul, and
as well are being grateful in counting your blessings while being discerning in making the
best healthy choices. Take as much time off to tune out from the mundane. Only then will
you be able to fully appreciate your ‘bad’ habits. Feed ‘good habits’ for they build the
best outer and inner you! Real freedom comes from having your heart and mind in synch.!
