Five steps to keep the you in you alive.
The most debatable question, we come across in our daily life is how much of ME is
fine. We all want to be loved, cared for and looked after, but the sail of life is not all
that smooth for some of us at times. We falter in relationships and each time we
ponder as to what went wrong? where did I go wrong? What did i said that was
incorrect? Should i have done it differently? And we bombard our mind with so many
confronting queries. This lingers on in our mind ; problem arises when we want but
can’t get rid of it; as a result we fail to live in present as well and allow bad memories
from the past affect our lives. Whatever precautions we take, the fact remains that
despite doing things differently, a good and a smooth sailing is not guaranteed.
Different types of entities live on this earth; some successful, some not so much
successful; some contended, some not so contended. To imagine what is the present
frame of mind of the other person is difficult. It cannot be gauged. By looking at the
person, it is not possible to guess his thoughts. Most of the people feel good ,when
they are pampered or appreciated; No wonder why many people explore the boss’s
mood before plunging in for discussion. So many relationships fail because the
couples refuse to accept the real person. The flimsy rosy pictures; goody images
occur only in reel life, in real life the jargons of our existence create such a flutter
that unless we are true to ourself, our survival will be difficult. Getting rewarded or
getting a standing ovation every time, you are appreciating others or someone else
is appreciating you , is a hypothetical situation, devoid of reality.
Today’s world of instant gratification, this delaying can be hazardous. This is actually
a attention seeking childhood phase , we are suppose to overgrow this with time.
With maturity comes sharing and caring and respecting the feeling of others. We
learn to openly accept criticism, no longer crave for attention and learn to live for
others. It is good to keep a reality check on ourself and see how many people are
looking forward to you for your likes, your affection and your nods . It’s great, if you
are able to deliver all this; but if you are expecting all this, then it is a hypothetical
situation .You can control your thoughts but not thoughts of others.
By learning to handle these trivial yet important relationship, we can embrace life
better.
Learn to
1. Be original by maintaining your originality and clarity of thoughts. Never say
things, if you don’t really mean them.
2. Know people around you and at the same time let other people know you as
well.
3. Leave little scope for guessing. Allow others to know what you think and why
in that manner to the extent that they can predict your response in the given
situation.
4. Create a space for yourself and don’t allow everyone to intrigue your space.
This also mean that we do not allow others to take us for granted.
5. Introspect the five W’s
 Who you are? Remember that you are unique and there is no one who
is similar to you. Trying to think or behave like someone is a futile
attempt.
 Where lies your happiness? Happiness is a state of mind that gives one
utmost satisfaction, set your goals around settings that elicit
happiness.
 What lies ahead of you is a mystery, take it in your stride and don’t be
scared of your future and fall prey to it.
 Why you are here? Try exploring a purpose in your life and let your
life revolve around it.
 When to stop. To say “NO” is a powerful tool to eliminate unwanted
stress from your life. Avoid situations that make you feel
uncomfortable.
Heartbreak occur when you set unrealistic expectations, when you are not true to
yourself or others. don’t be scared to share your opinions. Changing onerself to
make others happy is not a very viable option. What happens when you lie to
someone? You fabricated a story or lie and it’s likely that you will forget it after a
while but the other person will not, leading to further confusions.
A life full of distinction is waiting to be written by you; with you and only you in the
centre. Go ahead and embrace it.
