Can the Church be the Church without Children? This week we look at Luke 18:15-17 when Jesus admonishes his disciples for keeping children away. Why are children so important to our understanding Jesus' ministry.

"The Pilgrim's Way" is a presentation I gave at St. Margaret Mary Parish in Lower Burrell, PA (Greensburg Diocese about an hour from Pittsburgh) on March 22, 2014 during a weekend retreat using the 2012 film "The Way" starring Martin Sheen and directed by his son Emilio Estevez. This presentation was given to the parish at large on a Saturday evening as part of the parish's intergenerational catechesis program - for the adults and older teens while Sr Jennifer spoke to the junior high kids and Joan Duncan and catechists gave a pilgrimage presentation to K-4.
The plan was to give those not participating in the "Lenten pilgrimage" retreat to get a taste of what we were doing and perhaps entice people to consider making a pilgrimage to the Holy Land, a Marian shrine, Rome, or even a local shrine or the Cathedral.
The idea was to introduce and deepen the delights of the pilgrimage, inner and outer.

Carl Jung thought of the pshyche's compulsion to evolve as the archetype of Divinity. He named this archetype the Self, saw it as the core and cirmcumstance of our being, and defined it as our god-image. Humans are incapable of understanding the mystery we call God, but when our ideas about God are shaped by immatrue egos with one-sided thinking, we can wreak havoc in God's Name. In this lecture Dr. Raffa will discuss seven dysfunctional God-images that create societal problems and are obstacles to personal and planetarty peace and unity.

Belief in god is not virtuous or righteous, or a sign of intelligence. Mere belief is a sign of ignorance, despite what religionist and moralist claim. Most everybody is looking for something to give them hope and validation that supports their dreams or fears. A âbelieversâs faithâ in the anthropomorphic god has never made âhimâ realâŚor ever will. If this god were real, there would be no need for belief and faith. Does anyone believe and have faith in the sun being real? Better to believe that the sun is god.

In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.

Sons of Man
!!February 20, 2017!
Sons of God are apparently different than the âonly begotten Son of Godâ. Apparently
God had no begotten daughters from him as the father, but every female is of âgodly
spiritâ. Perhaps the rest of us are not the same as the Christian one sent to save
those who believed in him (Jesus). Seems that God himself gave birth to one special
and perhaps he could do the woman and man part. Canât imagine a child
understanding this, let alone most anyone?! Then again, ye must have faith and
apparently not question too much which shows doubt?!!
!Sons of man of course are produced by the woman with man playing a brief part that
could be only for pleasure. Are sons of man anymore important than daughters of man which are again from woman especially
with the advent of âsperm banksâ? One on my friends from Venice Beach, who was the centerfold at one point of Playgirl
Magazine, decided to support himself a bit by contributing his sperm to an LA sperm bank. Usually you never ďŹnd out what
happens after that, but he did! A New York Times article began the discovery of who he was to a couple of children that eventually
grew to numerous children, and who knows how many not connected.!
!If humans stay connected to the ďŹesh of man as the creator, the world of the spiritual, divine, and/or
god and godliness, in addition to whatever anyone wants to call âitâ, as the creator of all, is not risen
to to the heights of a superconscious being. Humans are spiritual beings occupying a human body
with the freedom to choose from the material, lukewarm
religiousness, or choose to focus on the rise to an ultimate
spiritual consciousness. !
!The world is in the disarray that exists because most live focused
only on desires of the ďŹesh sometimes accompanied by a token
interest in placating their egos with one foot into some semblance
of a religion, and for the wrong or mixed reasons. !
!There are a rare few who allegedly had a brief visit to heaven
away from the earth, but none have returned from a hell anywhere
but here. Now that the 2nd decade of the 21st century has
become the decade of light on falsities and lies, much will, and is
being exposed in the light of truth. Most of whatâs being uncovered are the âfalse beliefsâ we
have become attached to. Falseness is darkness from the light of truth. The light of truth is
within when we detach from who we âthinkâ we are rather choosing to see the spirit of bliss and
godliness that has always been in each. Letting go of lingering perceptions contrary to truth is to become the new man and
woman with heaven beginning here on earth. Be the spirit of godliness to see the divine. The âgood newsâ is to let go of âfake
newsâ! Know that your true self, a spiritual being, is always perfect!!
