Nirala Sweets was founded in 1948 and deals in confectionery products. Under CEO Faisal Farooq, portion sizes and sugar content were reduced to appeal to younger customers. The brand was redesigned with new products and packaging. However, the company faced difficulties including the death of Farooq Ahmad, loans taken out to open a dairy factory, and a tragic accident. Faisal Farooq is now living in a rented home after being accused of initiating the division of company property.
