We are pleased to forward the September issue of our monthly newsletter.

You are certainly aware that we are producing a lengthy monthly newsletter. Due to
printing and distribution costs, we are sending it in digital form to all members with an

We hope you received our Teacher’s Day greeting in due time.
We would like to share with you some impressions of the Celtic Evening which was held
at Asociación Católica San Patricio on September 3rd to celebrate our Day.
Our gratitude goes to San Patricio’s Board of Governors, teachers, members of Saint
Patrick’s Singers, Irish dancing group SIAMSA as well as Scottish music group Clanavis
for their contribution to the entertainment.
We are also grateful to former Members of APrIR’s Committee for having joined us that
evening, and also, we would like to thank SBS and Ameghino bookshops as well as
Oxford University Press, who generously contributed items to be raffled.
We have received many compliments about the friendly atmosphere and lively dancing
and music playing.

discuss solutions to common problems, share our expertise and our interest in like

Viewing and Reviewing Films (workshop), coordinated by Nora Séculi

Monthly meetings, and in every one of them a film to be viewed and
reviewed, that is, considered from different angles, commented,
discussed… – all in an informal, thoroughly relaxed manner.
June 15th, Tuesday – THIRD TUESDAY of the month, from 4 to 6 pm.

Attendees will be asked to share in the cost of the photocopies needed for the
discussions as well as coffee and cookies.
The Call for papers to be published in APrIR's On-line Journal is already in progress.
The Editorial Committee of APrIR On-Line Journal, headed by Prof.Nora
Séculi, is expecting your production to be published in the next issue.

As stated by our current President, Prof. Graciela Castelli, having our
writings published in specialised journals is one of the requirements to
be considered a teaching professional. APrIR is one of the very few
teachers' associations which offers a journal, and a copy of every issue is sent to
important libraries in Argentina and abroad.

Talk about Oscar Wilde and performance of The Importance of Being
Earnest
On 22nd September Prof. Nora Séculi will lecture - in Spanish
- about Oscar Wilde and his works. After her talk, Saint
Patrick’s Drama Group will stage his play: “The Importance of
Being Earnest”.
Venue: Colegio San Bartolomé
Time: 7.30 PM.
Fee: APrIR members: $10.=
General public: $20.=
Feel free to invite your relatives and friends. Tickets sold at APrIR’s office and from CD
members.
FAAPI Conference, (Córdoba)
To be held on September 23, 24, 25, enrolment was so successful
it had to close in advance. Several AprIR members will be
presenting papers, and many will be attending. We hope they will
share their impressions with us when they come back.
OCTOBER
● "Chalk and Screen: exploring online resources to enhance classroom
work". A presentation by Prof. Mariel Amez.
A joint effort: IES Nº 28 “Olga Cossettini” and APrIR have organised this academic event
to be held on Saturday October 23rd at 9.30 am at Sarmiento 2902. It is free of
charge for APrIR members and current IES lecturers. More information to come.
