This document provides information about International Education Week (IEW) hosted by the U.S. Department of State and Department of Education. IEW is an opportunity to celebrate international education and exchange worldwide. The 2010 theme is "Striving for a Sustainable Future" from November 15-19. Five reasons to celebrate IEW are provided, including that international education prepares students for the global economy and international cooperation contributes to education solutions. Information is given on participating in local IEW events and activities hosted by EducationUSA Mexico City.

The Embassy of the United States of America in Mexico is pleased to announce the 2017 National Youth Science Camp (NYSC) offered to Mexican students finishing high school in 2017. The NYSC will be held at a facility located in the Monongahela National Forest near Bartow in the eastern mountains of West Virginia. The NYSC will take place from Wednesday, June 14 to Saturday, July 8, 2017. There are only two full scholarships available for students from Mexico. The EducationUSA Academy 2015 Pilot Program will bring self-funded 15- to 17-year old students from Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, and Peru to one of two host universities for a four-week academic program in July. Students will take intensive English language classes mixed with college preparatory content, covering material such as how to apply to U.S. colleges and universities, how to write a strong essay, U.S. professors’ expectations around academic work and classroom participation, strategies for taking required standardized tests, and much more. They will experience life on a U.S. college campus for four weeks, living in on-campus residence halls, eating meals in on-campus dining facilities, and socializing with American students. Academy students will also have the opportunity to tour at least five diverse U.S. college or university campuses during the program. The program will include fun activities such as picnics and volleyball games with American students. Academy students will attend university or community sports and arts events and visit local tourist sites such as state parks and museums. Students will apply directly to the Academy host institution of their choice and will pay their own tuition, travel and other program-related costs. The program cost will be less than $5000, including lodging and meals. Airfare is not included in the program cost.
This is a pilot program for 2015, hosted exclusively by Syracuse University and University of Colorado Boulder, aimed at students from Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, and Peru. The program will be expanded to more U.S. institutions and to students from around the world beginning in Summer 2016.

The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

Deadlines are fast approaching! Before turning in your application, use our helpful checklist to be sure you
have reviewed and completed all documents and forms:
Verify application deadlines
Complete school/program’s
application form
Perfect the statement of
purpose/personal statement
Obtain letters of recommendation (2-3, translation
required)
Request official high school or undergraduate
transcripts/diplomas (translation required)
Provide translated financial statements
Prepare portfolio or sample of work (if necessary)
Secure financial aid package
Register and take required admission exams
(SAT, ACT, TOEFL, GRE, GMAT, etc)
-Be sure to take exams with enough time to receive
scores and send them to schools before application
deadline
Revise and review all materials (we recommend
having a native English speaker review essays,
application, etc)

parent going through the college application process.
Springer and Franck help demystify college
applications and give helpful advice on how to be a
competitive candidate. This book explains everything
from what admissions officers look for, how they
make their decisions, and how to find the perfect
college for you. It even covers application
requirements like the Common Application, exams,
personal statements, and letters of recommendation.

SCAD Challenge Scholarship Competition
Offering High school students an international stage
to exhibit their work, the SCAD Challenge series
seeks the next generation of talented artists and
designers. High school seniors and juniors compete
to showcase their work at signature SCAD events,
and may become eligible for scholarships to SCAD,
the most comprehensive art and design university in
the world.

2. Graduate (Law) Scholarship:
Hofstra Law School
Hofstra Law School is now offering need- and merit-
based scholarships for international students in
their Juris Doctor (J.D.) and Master of Laws (LL.M.)
degree programs.
The American Legal Studies LL.M. program is
designed for lawyers trained outside of the United
States, and who wish to either practice law in the
United States or return to their home countries.
Hofstra’s nine-month, full-time LL.M. program
trains students to handle the increasing
internationalization of legal practice and navigate
transactions involving the laws of multiple nations.
Candidates may select from over 200 courses and
join any of our 40 student organizations.

3. Graduate (MBA) Scholarship:
THE OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY - MBA PROGRAM
The Fisher College of Business at The Ohio State
University is pleased to announce the continuation this
year of the Scholarship for the Americas, an MBA
scholarship covering the full cost of an MBA education for
students from Central and South America. It is merit-
based and offered to a candidate who demonstrates
strong academic aptitude, a competitive GMAT test
score, work experience, leadership potential, and desire
for professional development.
The Scholarship for the Americas includes:
- Full tuition waiver for the two-year MBA program
- A generous monthly stipend to cover living expenses
**The estimated value of the award is $99,000 US.
The only requirement to be considered is to submit an
