BAYLOR UNIVERSITY (TX) SCHOLARSHIPS FOR INTERNATIONAL
STUDENTS
Incoming international students are considered for academic scholarships
(the Regents' Gold Scholarship, President's Gold Scholarship, Provost's
Gold Scholarship, Deans'Gold Scholarship and Transfer Scholarship).
International students whose status allows them to work in the U.S. can also apply for a limited
number of on-campus jobs. These positions usually pay minimum wage for up to 20 hours per
week.

FONTBONNE UNIVERSITY (MO) INTERNATIONAL SCHOLARSHIPS
International scholarships (undergraduate only) ranging from $3,000 - $13,000 are
still available until the Fall 2014 application deadline of June 15, 2014. All
international undergraduate students are automatically considered for an
international student scholarship after submitting a complete application.

2. UNIVERSITY OF MONTANA (MT) UM ENTERING STUDENT
SCHOLARSHIP
University of Montana is still accepting applications from international
students for the 2014-2015 academic year. Admitted students are automatically evaluated for the
UM Entering Student Scholarship valued from $2,000 to $10,000 per year.

LINFIELD COLLEGE (OR) INTERNATIONAL STUDENT
SCHOLARSHIPS
Linfield offers a limited number of partial tuition scholarships to
international students. In some cases, we can also offer part-time, on-
campus work opportunities. An interested student must apply for scholarship and work grants by
sending a personal letter with his or her application for admission.

JOLIET JUNIOR COLLEGE (IL) INTENSIVE ENGLISH FOR
ACADEMIC PURPOSES (IEAP) PROGRAM
Joliet Junior College was recently approved to allow F-1 students into
their Intensive English for Academic Purposes (IEAP) program. They are
currently accepting applications for the Fall 2014 semester. The IEAP curriculum has been at the
college since 2010 but was previously limited to local immigrants. Due to the high success rates of
those students (average college-level English grade is a 3.17 after completing program) Joliet Junior
College is thrilled to expand the program and welcome students on an F-1 visa. New courses
include American Culture I & II and a Language Laboratory course.
Our main campus is just 72km outside downtown Chicago, giving students the opportunity to
experience the exceptional cultural activity of the city. Joliet Junior College is also one of the few
community colleges in Illinois with on-campus student housing.

3. OREGON STATE UNIVERSITY (OR) INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
CELEBRATE THEIR CULTURES TOGETHER
Students had the chance to share stories about their culture on May 4th as part of
the International Students of OSU’s annual Spring Festival, in which 16 international
student groups served food and performed for students and their families attending
the university’s Moms Weekend. The theme of this year’s festival was “Stories our
Mamas told us.”

PARKLAND COLLEGE (IL) BEING AN INTERNATIONAL STUDENT IS
NO SMALL FEAT
International students make up a significant portion of the student body at
Parkland. According to Parkland’s website, 350 students representing over 50 countries attend
school here. Life for an international student is different from that of a domestic student in many
ways. In addition to the typical stresses that any college student deals with, international students
may also find it difficult to feel comfortable in an unfamiliar environment. Parkland is well aware of
the difficulties these students face and has staff on hand to help them cope.
