NewStar t is a social enterprise
whose goal is to act as a safe,
confidential alternative for
women in Kandahar,
Afghanistan who want to
escape dangerous or
damaging home situations .
The shelter will act as an
empowerment center where
women learn the skills to be
self-reliant
The women will raise and sell
livestock, dairy, and eggs
for two reasons:
1: To help support the center’s
costs
2: To provide affordable food to
the surrounding area

At NewStart, our mission is to provide
a supportive and inspiring
environment for women who want to
become forces of positive change
in Afghanistan through breaking the
cultural and economic barriers
that hold them down.
