Some of the largest social networks have hundreds of millions of active users who use the sites to meet new people, get news, and join groups. However, privacy and bullying are challenges, as personal information or embarrassing content could be inappropriately shared. Users should be cautious about what they post and use available privacy settings.

It provides services such as access and identity management as well as license negotiation. Eduserv also funds research grants and sponsors activities related to teaching and learning in virtual worlds like Second Life. Some of the projects it has funded include researching learning in online social worlds like Second Life and World of Warcraft, developing computer modeling tools and online communities, and creating an open source platform called Sloodle that combines Moodle and Second Life.

But as entrepid explorers you must put aside your fears and push out into the unknown. Forewarned is forearmed! Seek your destiny!

Classroom training is no longer an essential part of learning and development. We can now tap into the collective wisdom of peers and experts as and when we need. Skilling ourselves for a challenging and volatile environment is a personal responsibility - we can't rely on others, including the people/organisations we work for.
Mixing Your Personal Learning Network - EIT Guest Lecture
Joyce Seitzinger gave a guest lecture about personal learning networks and cultivating a PLN. She discussed how education is becoming more distributed through networks and less about centralized instruction. She covered tools for PLNs like communities, information streams, and curating a personal hub for collecting and sharing information. Seitzinger also provided tips for enriching one's PLN through communities of practice, MOOCs, conferences and designing learning experiences for others with empathy.

Learning has left the classroom. It is being re-constituted across distance, discipline, workplace, and media as the social and technical interconnectivity of the Internet challenges existing structures for learning and education. The new ‘e-learning’ is more than a learning management system – it is a transformation in how, where, and with whom we learn that supports formal, informal and non-formal learning, life-long learning, just-in-time learning, and in ‘as much time as I have’ learning. But to do so, e-learning depends on the power of crowds and the support of communities engaged in the participatory practices of the Internet. We are networked in our learning, but also in our joint construction of knowledge and its legitimation, and in the social and technical practices that support knowledge co-construction, learning and education. This talk explores the emerging trends and forces that are radically reshaping learning and knowledge practices. The talk further explores the changing landscape of learning and knowledge practices with attention to motivations for contributing and valuing knowledge in crowds and communities, and the implications for future knowledge practices.

significant role in maintaining the ecological equilibrium of our planet.Land serves as the foundation for all human activities and provides the necessary materials for
these activities. As the most crucial natural resource, its utilization by humans results in different
'Land uses,' which are determined by both human activities and the physical characteristics of the
land.
The utilization of land is impacted by human needs and environmental factors. In countries
like India, rapid population growth and the emphasis on extensive resource exploitation can lead
to significant land degradation, adversely affecting the region's land cover.
Therefore, human intervention has significantly influenced land use patterns over many
centuries, evolving its structure over time and space. In the present era, these changes have
accelerated due to factors such as agriculture and urbanization. Information regarding land use and
cover is essential for various planning and management tasks related to the Earth's surface,
providing crucial environmental data for scientific, resource management, policy purposes, and
diverse human activities.
Accurate understanding of land use and cover is imperative for the development planning
of any area. Consequently, a wide range of professionals, including earth system scientists, land
and water managers, and urban planners, are interested in obtaining data on land use and cover
changes, conversion trends, and other related patterns. The spatial dimensions of land use and
