2. Hyperesthiasensation
Hyper-over, above ; Esthesia-feeling,
• Tactile Hyperesthesia
A disorder that affects the nervous
system. It causes excessive sensory stimuli.
So the sound of a doorbell or the touch of
feather can actually be painful. It is most
often found in people with Autism.
3. Anesthesia
A-without; Esthesia-feeling, sensation
• Anesthesia
Anesthesia is a process that renders the
brain to not feel pain. The patient can stay
awake and receive a local anesthetic like
Novocain or be put to sleep via IV drugs
like Diprivan.
4. Paraparesis
Para-beside, near; Paresis-weakening
• Paraparesis
The partial loss of voluntary function
of the lower limbs. People who suffer from
this condition can not walk without
assistance. In addition, complete recovery
from paraparesis is unlikely.
5. Monoparesis
Mono-one; Paresis-weakening
• Monoparesis
Similar to paraparesis, but this
condition only affects one limb. This is
common after a stroke, like a very weak
arm. I believe recovery from monoparesis is
more hopeful than paraparesis.
