Neptune is the eighth and farthest planet from the Sun in our solar system. It is the fourth largest planet. Neptune takes just over 24 hours to rotate and approximately 165 years to orbit the Sun. Neptune has at least 8 moons and multiple thin rings around it. It is composed primarily of hydrogen, helium, and water ice. Neptune was the first planet discovered through mathematical calculations rather than direct observation.
