Beef Stroganoff

Russia is in Asia. It is the biggest of the countries that
used to form the Soviet Union. Russian specialities
include small pancakes made from buckwheat flour,
called blinis and borscht, a ruby-red soup made from
beetroot and soured cream. Because the country is so
big and varied, each area has its own cooking traditions.

This quick and delicious recipe was first created in the
1700 for count Alexander Stroganoff. The recipe uses
expensive steak. So it is best to cook it on special
occasions.
Ingredients
-115g mushrooms.
-1 medium onion.
-450g, rump or fillet steak.
-Salt and black pepper.
-55g, butter.
-1 teaspoon smooth mustard.
-150ml soured cream.
Method
1- First wipe the mushrooms and slice them.
Then peel the onion and cut it into thin slices.

2- Then, cut the steak into narrow strips
about 6cm long. Sprinkle them with a little
salt and pepper.

3- After, melt the butter in a large frying pan.
Fry yhe onion slices over a low heat.

4- Then, cook the mushroons for two minutes
in a pan. Add the mustard.
5- After add the steak. Cook the mixture for
about fire minutes, stirring all the time.
6- Finally, turn the heat down and stir in the
cream. Cook the stroganoff gently for another
two minutes, them serve.
