1. Need Help To Write An Essay
Writing an essay on the topic "Need Help To Write An Essay" presents a peculiar challenge,
primarily because of the inherent paradox within the subject matter. On one hand, it's about
seeking assistance in crafting an essay, which implies a struggle or lack of confidence in one's
own ability to articulate thoughts effectively. On the other hand, the act of writing about this
theme demands a certain level of self-awareness and proficiency in essay composition, thereby
creating a contradiction.
Attempting to delve into the intricacies of expressing the need for assistance in writing while
simultaneously addressing the complexities of the writing process itself can be a daunting task. It
requires navigating a fine line between vulnerability and competence, humility and skill. It's akin
to trying to find stability on shifting sands, as the essay must strike a delicate balance between
acknowledging limitations and showcasing strengths.
Moreover, there's an added layer of difficulty in ensuring that the essay remains coherent and
engaging despite its meta-nature. It's not merely about conveying information or arguments; it's
about exploring the dynamics of seeking help within the context of academic writing, which
demands a nuanced approach.
Furthermore, crafting an essay on this topic necessitates introspection and honesty about one's
own writing journey and the challenges encountered along the way. This level of self-reflection
can be both enlightening and uncomfortable, requiring a willingness to confront insecurities and
uncertainties head-on.
In conclusion, writing an essay on the topic "Need Help To Write An Essay" is a task that
involves navigating through layers of complexity, paradoxes, and self-awareness. It requires a
delicate balance between acknowledging vulnerabilities and showcasing strengths, all while
maintaining coherence and engagement. It's a challenge that underscores the intricacies of the

Introduction:
Creeping fig (Ficus pumila) is a perennial vining plant native to Asia (Liang et al.,
2012). The creeping fig has been used for many centuries in Chinese folk medicine
to treat a host of illnesses including but not limited to inflammation, diabetes,
dizziness and high blood pressure(Liang et al., 2012). The fruits have also been
harvested for their natural pectin s, which are extracted in water to create a thick
liquid that is considered a Chinese delicacy (Liang et al., 2012). Ficus pumila is
widely used in the land scape to control erosion on sloped ground. Its growth habit

4. Slave Narrative In History
Chapter 3 contains the aftermath of the ending of slavery in Washington and
Turnage s lives and how they proceeded their lives as the first freed . Of course,
being in charge of their own lives a lot of responsibility came along especially since
they had families to care for. For example, finding shelter in safe grounds, and
feeding themselves. Washington Turnage had to work several jobs to make living
such as waiter, clerk, secretary and the common laboring. The slaves now had to bring
the knowledge that they had brought with them from slavery, freed people educated
children nurtured a community increasingly surrounded by a racially hostile world,
found spiritual solace, gathered their scattering families and took ownership of their
lives (pg 95). The church played a key role in uniting African Americans and helping
build a community with one another. Church provided faith, jobs and shelter.
During this time Fredrick Douglas also contributed knowledge to the community.

Little did they know, their narratives would help understand slave life in a different

in history? and how can there be new history when more documentaries like this are
found? Well, the role of slave narratives help us remember and honor what millions
of Africans and people suffered. Not only that, helps us visualize the growth of our
nation. I personally think when more documentaries like this our found we should
embark on investigating those who owned plantations and had pure hatred because,

1.1.Introduction
Cars changed the way people lived, worked, and enjoyed leisure time; however, what
most people don t realize is that the process of manufacturing automobiles had an
equally significant impact on industry. The creation of the moving assembly lineby
Henry Ford at his Highland Park plant, introduced on December 1, 1913,
revolutionized the automobile industry and the concept of manufacturing worldwide.

Indicating another characteristic to work for himself rather than for another
person. In 1896 he was the chief engineer at the Edison Electric Illuminating
Company, but he had other interests and left the company. Aided by a team of
friends, his experiments came to a peak in 1896 when he completed his first
automobile; the Quadricycle a self propelled vehicle with four wire wheels, two
gears and no reverse. After Ford built the Quadricycle he wanted to test it as soon as
possible but then he realized it would fit through the shed door; he was so excited
that he took an axe and knocked the wall out and took it for a spin. Another
characteristic arose his vision of mass production of this automobile. Later on the
Quadricycle attracted investors and with this backing Henry Ford he started his first
automobile company, the Detroit Automobile Company in 1899, but unfortunately
this business venture didn t last as did the second.

7. Lab Report On Plant Cell Walls
Introduction:
Plant cell walls are composed of: Pectin matrices, cellulose microfibrils and branches
of hemicellulose. Cell walls give plant cells their rigid oblong shape (in
morphogenesis) and its strength aids the plant cell s maintenance of osmotic stability
preventing lysis and crenation when exposed to hypertonic or hypotonic
environments respectively. The apoplast pathway in the cellwall is also completely
permeable to ions and small particles while preventing the entry of toxic
macromolecules.
Second to cell walls, plant cell membranes contain a variety of different lipids (made
of fatty acids), proteins and carbohydrates. The two molecule thick layered structure

In fig.1, the absorbance values of the resultant beetroot solutions show a clear
increase with increasing temperature, this is gradual from 23В°C to 60В°C, but this
steeply increases until 70В°C which was the last data point. Extrapolation may show
an exponential increase, until all the red pigment has been liberated from all of the
beetroot cells, and the trend line would thus plateau horizontally.
In fig.2, the absorbance readings of H2O and chloroform are relatively very small

Discussion:
The monochromatic light of the spectrophotometer was set to a value of 540nm (the
green region of the visual spectrum). This is essential because the betacyanin
pigments present in the vacuoles of beetroot cells are what give the vegetable its
distinctive red colour (light transmitted), so the compromise green wavelength is

Both the progressive and populist movements felt that the way the current industrial
society was set up was unfair and favored the political elites. The differences between
the two movements mostly fell into what kind of areas they took place in, and what
specifically they were trying to change. The populist movement started out as the
Farmers Alliance in the 1870s, and began moving throughout the south and west
mostly in rural areas such as farms. They pursued many reforms in that times society

The legislation that permits employers to automatically enroll new employees in
employer sponsored 401(k) plans is commonly known as the Pension Protection Act

This change was made due to the fact that many eligible employees did not
participate in their employer sponsored 401(k) plans. By allowing employers to
automatically enroll employees in employer sponsored 401(k) plans the government
hoped that more employees would participate in these programs.
An automatic enrollment plan must meet requirements regarding: (1) automatic

joint committee report states:

The purpose of this evidence based practice (EBP) project was to educate ED nurses
on compassion fatigue (CF) risk factors, causes, and symptoms as well as assist them
in its identification among each other and within themselves. Further, the project
sought to provide nurses with skills in order to prevent CF. A two hour workshop
consisting of a PowerPoint presentation was implemented in a busy emergency
department on the coast of NJ. Teaching nurses about compassion fatigueand ways in
which to alleviate and prevent it were stressed. Self regulation and self care practices

The present proposal handles the topic of address forms. Hence, it will introduce the
basic concepts which are effective in dealing with address forms for Arab married
and unmarried women. The politeness theory, terms of address usage in workplace
and their categories will be discussed.
1.1Politeness Theory Politeness theory is a socio cultural phenomenon based on the
social values and norms of a particular community. Holmes (1995:285) reports that
politeness is culturally determined , meaning what might be considered as polite in

1.4Social Factors Affecting Address System
When any two people communicate, appropriate terms of address must be chosen in
order to obtain an effective communication between them. According to Parkinson
(1985) terms of address are not chosen randomly but they are governed by certain
factors, such as speaker related factors, addressee related factors, speaker addressee
relationship, the interlocutors, and the context.
2.Review of Related Literature
The main goal of this study is to investigate the sociolinguistic structure of women
terms of address usage in workplace. This part tries to review a number of related
studies in different languages, mainly English and Arabic.
Mehrotra (1985) describes the forms of address in Hindi in relation to the socio
cultural setting of using them. He notes that variation in the usage of address forms is
the meaning of reflecting interlocutor s social background or characteristics as they
define and affirm both identity and status of the speaker and addressee.
Oyetade (1995) provides a descriptive analysis of the forms of address system in
Africa, a language spoken in the western part of Nigeria. He finds that the choices
that interlocutors made are influenced by the perceived social relationships that exist
among them. Their age, social status and kinship are the major principles governing
address usage among

traditional ceremonies or celebrations are the baptisms, marriages, deathand afterlife.

In the article of rites of passage, by Tsuji (2011) he discusses how Japan culture
goes through different rituals when reaching the point of death and afterlife
compared to the United States. When one speaks of old age in the United States, it
refers to an individual who is ready to retire or close to passing away. In recent
research, some typical behaviors upon reaching this milestone are when a person
moves into a senior living capacity, the use of hearing aids, and one might even
give up driving. On the other hand, Japan s culture is different when referring to
celebrations and old age. The rites of passage rituals for those getting old start as
early as sixty years old. The reason Japanese celebrate his or her sixtieth birthday is
that many did not survive longer than his or her sixtieth birthday. In addition to
Japanese culture of old age, they also celebrate auspicious birthdays. This tradition is
a sequence of celebrations that occurs different time throughout his or her lifetime.
The Japanese reflect back on the person s life for which they have lived. Another
critical fact is that these birthday celebrations were known to guide death within rites
of passage. The rites of passage continue beyond death into the afterlife with the
tradition of worshiping the ancestors. Some of the cultures of the Japanese afterlife
include the offering of tea, flowers, and rice to

Therefore, neighborhood stores are going to become available and malls too, but
they both are going to vary in certain aspects. Neighborhood stores are stores that
provides accommodations to the locals. Malls, on the other hand, are large
buildings made of multiple competitive retails stores. Nevertheless, neighborhood
stores and malls seem very similar, but when looking at their square footages,
remoteness from home, and marketability, they are quite different. Community
stores tend to be small, whereas malls are quite large. A commonly known
neighborhood store like Fiesta covers only 100,000 square feet not counting the
parking lot (About Fiesta). While a shopping complex like The Woodlands Mall

People communicate for more meaning than only for the words spoken. Sometimes
what we intended to say is not what the other person undersrands. By understanding
why misunderstanding occurs will help to improve our communication skills in or

According to McLaughlin et al, (2008), the distance in proximity between people
affects people s levels of comfort and can cause anxiety.
Fear and lack of trust are among the most typical barriers to effective communication.
People can be hesitant to communicate in particular their thoughts as well as their
feelings for fear of being criticised, getting negative reactions, or getting an angry
response. if people lack trust they might be hesitant to communicate, not just their
feelings and thoughts, but any ideas they might have. For example, the situation
was hugely affected by the service user s current emotions which involved her
family members constantly shouting and criticising her. She appeared nervous and
anxious especially whenever one of her parents came into the kitchen. It was
evident that she was not listening actively to what was being said. To be able to
listen actively the listener is required to be attentive (Jones, 2009; Smith, 2010; Xue,
2009). The service user was distracted and was not as attentive as when it was just
the two of us in the room.
Interpersonal barriers, otherwise referred to as personality clashes occur when
relationships between individuals are weak and not hamonial . As a result of this the
confidence and mutual trust in one another is low, therefore leading to emotional
barriers set out above (Managing and managing people, 2011c).In the intervention this

22. Terrible Transportation In Las Vegas
Terrible Transportation in Las Vegas The RTC, Regional Transportation
Commission, is the only bus system all around the Las Vegas area and it covers most
of the valley. People all over this vast city depend on this multicultural transit system,
whether they are old, young, rich, or poor. Nevertheless, riding the busin Las Vegas is
not only dangerous, it is time consuming, on top of being a filthy place to expose
oneself to. The bus in this city is alarming to ride in many areas of the town as
passengers make their way from point A to point B. The bus travels straight up and
down each street without turning on most of its routes. As the bus repeatedly drives
along its route it heads through some not so decent parts of town, this can be seen...

Remember how earlier it was mentioned that any fare paying passenger was
allowed on the bus, this includes people with the flu or any kind of sickness
creating a germ infested bus that is only cleaned once a day! All too often bus
riders seem to have no sense of respect for fellow passengers leaving their trash on
the seats when they depart. In just about every bus in the valley, a rider can see
stains on the floor that are sometimes sticky from the drinks spilled throughout that
single day even though drinks are not allowed on the bus. Along with icky floors
comes gross windows or sometimes even gunk on the seats this is often from the
children who smear their dirty fingers and faces all over the bus. Unfortunately, this
junk is left on the bus all day for each passenger to see. Rather a repulsive sight when
someone takes the time to think that even as often as the bus stops at the transit
stations no one wipes the buses down between runs even with all the stops that a bus

But nobody ever set any parameters on what to do if the hemoglobin ranged between
7 and 10. This left the physician to decide when to start a blood transfusion. The
Johns Hopkins study revealed that because of this most physicians always erred in
the side of safety by ordering a transfusion any time the hemoglobin was at or
below 10. But the Hopkins study has now determined that a hemoglobin of 7 or 8
can be considered safe. Giving blood to patients who have a hemoglobin above 7
shows no real benefit and truth is that the risk due to side effects may actually be
increased. Remember that this procedure has been in place for decades and this
new research was a game changer. The benefits to a hospital from the Hopkins
study are tremendous. The study revealed that the costs to the hospital for one unit
(300ml) of blood can cost as much as $1,100. While the donor gives the blood for
free it must be analyzed for toxic diseases including Hepatitis and HIV (IMVS

24. The Human Skeleton Book Report
This semester has been by far the most challenging one I had so far. Although I
faced many challenges, the learning experience made it enjoyable. We have seen so
far about 12 chapters and by the end of the semester, we would have cover 16
chapters. Although all chapters were very educational, chapters seven and eight were
the most interesting to me. The human skeletonhas about 206 major bones; it is
divided into two parts, the axial skeleton which forms the longitudinal or central
core and the appendicular skeleton, which forms the limbs and the bones that
connect them to the body. Chapter seven educated us about the axial skeleton.
According to our textbook, the axial skeleton has 80 bones. Our book divided these
80 bones into, the skull, which is subdivided into 18 cranial bones and 14 facial
bones; bones associated with the skull, which are 6 auditory ossicles and the hyoid
bone; the vertebral column subdivided into 24 vertebrae, the sacrum and the coccyx
and the thoracic cage, which are 24... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The skull has several bones that have air filled chambers called cavities (207). These
sinuses are located in four different bones and these bones constitute the paranasal
sinuses. The paranasal sinuses consist of: the frontal sinus, spenoidal sinus, ethmoid
air cells and maxillary sinus (224). Another interesting bone that is part of the skull,
but more specifically the cranium, is the spenoid bone. Because this bone articulates
with all the other cranial bones, it is also known as keystone of the cranial floor. On
the spenoid bone we find the sella turcica, and within the sella turcica, it s found the
hypophyseal fossa, which has the pituitary gland (217). The pituitary gland produces
hormones like the growth hormone. Other cranial bones are: the frontal bone, parietal
bones, temporal bones, occipital bone and the ethmoid
25. Genetic Markers Don t Always Match Physical Appearance
Genetic markers don t always match physical appearance. First of all, a genetic
marker is a gene or short sequence of DNA. Since the beginning of time our
genetics have been changing constantly due to a lot of different aspects. Some
causes of change include aging. As we get older our bodies chemicals change, we
produce more and less of certain chemicals, for example; insulin. The changing of
chemicals affect our body not just on the outside, but on the inside. It affects the
way our genetic markers respond and can alter them. Some diseases are caused by a
genetic mutation, or permanent change in one or more specific genes which can be
caused by aging. Aging can lead to our bodies getting diseases like Alzheimer s or
Parkinson s. (Lewis)... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Most epigenetic changes that occur in sperm and egg cells get erased when the two
combine to form a fertilized egg in a process called reprogramming. This
reprogramming allows the cells of the fetus to start from scratch and make their own
epigenetic changes. However, scientists think that some of the epigenetic changes in
parents sperm and egg cells may avoid the reprogramming process and make it
through to the next generation. If this is true, things like the food a person eats
before they conceive could affect their future child. Scientists now think epigenetics
can play a role in the development of some cancers. For instance, an epigenetic
change that silences a tumor suppressor gene, such as a gene that keeps the growth of
the cell in check, could lead to uncontrolled cellular growth. Another example might
be an epigenetic change that turns off genes that help repair damaged DNA, leading to
an increase in DNA damage, which in turn, increases cancer risk. (US, National
Institutes of Health)
Another reason our genetic markers change over time is because we get diseases,
also called a genetic disorder. A genetic disorder is a disease that is caused by a
change or mutation in an individual s DNA sequence.
These mutations can be due to an error in DNA replication or due to environmental
factors, such as cigarette smoke and exposure to radiation, which cause changes in the
DNA sequence. These changes can affect
26. Real Gross Domestic Product
Real Gross Domestic Product (GDP) Real GDP increased annually at a rate of 2.6
percent in the fourth quarter of 2013. Although it decelerated from a 4.1percent
GDP growth increase in the third quarter, in my findings real people were helping
our economic growth in the fourth quarter. To be specific, the real GDP increase
in this final quarter beat BEA estimate (a 2.4 percent increase) by 20 basis points.
This is reflected by a larger than previously estimated consumption expenditure (3.3
percent versus an estimate of 2.6 percent). However, it is offset by a smaller than
estimated private investment in intellectual property products (4.0 percent) and
residential fixed investment (negative 7.9 percent). There are positive
contributions to this increase such as: personal consumption expenditures up 3.3
percent (higher than last quarter s 2 percent), gross private domestic investment
up 2.5 percent, and exports up 9.5 percent. They are offset by negative
contributions such as government spending down 5.2 percent. Imports, which are
a subtraction in the calculation of GDP, were up 1.5 percent. The price index for
gross domestic purchases, which is the measurement of prices paid by US
residents, increased at the rate of 1.5 percent in the fourth quarter 2013 as
compared to 1.8 percent increase in the third quarter last year. If food and energy
prices are excluded, the price index increased at 1.8 percent in the fourth quarter
2013 as compared to an increase of 1.5 percent in the
27. Essay on Individual Verses Society in Song of Solomon
The Individual Verses Society in Song of Solomon
Toni Morrision s novel Song of Solomon contrasts the image of a self made
individual with that of an individual who is the product of his or her society. Since
society changes, the man who simply reflects his social environment changes
accordingly. But the true individual s self discovery depends on achieving
consciousness of one s own nature and identity (Middleton 81). This is what
differentiates Pilate and Milkman from Macon and Guitar. There are direct
similarities between Milkman s and Pilate s self discovery. They both achieve their
individualistic spirit through travel, literal and symbolic. Not so for Guitar and

adapts to and becomes accepted by the people of Shalimar. He gains a sense of self

Whereas Milkman finds his place and identity through a journey and through self
discovey, Guitar finds his place by immersing himself in society. He grew up with
Railroad Tommy and the people in the Barbershop. This group of men spent their
time discussing and complaining about the injustices that were being done to black
men. Guitar reflects the views of urbanized black men, defiant of white power and
authority, and militant in their convictions for change. Morrison intentionally
contrasts Milkman with Guitar to show that the individual is better off discovering
his/her self outside of society. We aren t supposed to like the Seven Days. There is
a coldness and a negative connotation surrounding the barbershop and the Seven
Days. Guitar is aware of the problems of society, but he is incapable of expanding
beyond the limited views of the Days, and eventually this brings him to consider
killing his best friend.
The same contrast between individual self discovery and society s conditioning can
be found in two other main characters: Pilate and Macon Dead Jr. Just like Milkman,
Pilate traveled

Lake Wales Charter Schools system (LWCS) opened its doors to the first students in
August of 2004. LWCS faces several challenges, including educating a large migrant
population and high poverty rates. Serving over 4,000 students in Lake Wales,
Florida, superintendent of schools Jesse L. Jackson and his administration have
worked to foster an internal culture of collaboration and communication to
innovatively engage their students and families.
The school food service program had underperformed for years and had been
siphoning valuable dollars from limited education funds to support operations. To
make matters more troublesome, implementing the Healthy Hunger Free Kids Act
was presenting a major challenge. Meal participation had been declining, and in
2011, LWCS had to use $77,000 dollars from the general fund to cover foodservice
shortfalls. During an audit, SLA was recommended to LWCS as a solution to their
food service issues and as a partner that could customize a program to fit their multi
cultural and school community culture.
Over the last three years, SLA has exceeded everyone s expectation. There has been
a noticeable improvement of food quality, variety, and value. Nearly a thousand more
meals are served daily. LWCS received numerous compliments when the switch in
companies was made from students, parents, and staff. Education scores are on the
rise and the success is attributed by Rich Colombo as due in part to the increased
consumption of meals and alternative

32. Social Issues In Dracula
Dracula by Bram Stoker, is the original vampire book, the one that started it all.
From it derived the now so beloved and famous teen romance vampire genre, with
novels like Twilight. However, Dracula is not remotely like the sparkle in the
sunlight, falling in love with mortals vampire any more than Harry Potter is like the
Wicked Witch of the West. Dracula
is a gothic horror novel set in Transylvania and
England during the Victorian Era. The story is told in letters, diary entries, and
newspaper clippings from the viewpoint of several characters, allowing for a wide
variety of viewpoints that highlight happenings in Draculaas well as present the social
issues pertained within. While it contains action, suspense, horror, and romance, it
also displays the corruption within the everyday society. The way the women are
presented, interacted with, and how Count Dracula affects them brings forth the
issues within the Victorian society, especially the men s treatment of women and the
different social and gender roles, which Stoker uses to highlight the situational irony
found within the novel. The reader s first real introduction to the Victorian society
and the women within is through Lucy Westenra and Mina Murray s letters to each
other. Within the letters, both of their characters are revealed and in their diary
entries, the way the men act towards them. (This reveals the society s view of
women, often thinking of them as being below men, silly and childlike.) When Lucy

blocks from my house and I would walk to school and back every single day. I
usually had people who would walk with me. Some of those people I am still friends

Introduction to Jewish Traditions
Dr. Haus
Analytical Essay In religions such as Christianity, Islam and Buddhism, redemption
holds various interpretations. Yet, for the Jews, redemption is mainly about God
redeeming them from various exiles and slavery. Redemption is prevalent throughout
Hebrew Traditions and highlights the tensions that arise between human and divine
powers such as in the Book of Exodus and the Judge s Cycle which demonstrates
the eternal aspect of the covenant and renders God as the only determinant of
salvation for humanity. Analyzing the initial concept of redemption in the Book of
Exodus and understanding the cycle in which redemption is attained authenticates
God s power as a redeemer and the eternality of redemption to those who repent and
aim to fulfill the covenant. The Book of Exodus exhibits the essence of obligation
and responsibility as the foundation for the perpetual relationship between God and
his people, outlining God as the redeemer and his people as the observers of the
covenant. During the Jewish Exile in Egypt , God establishes himself as the
redeemer of the Israelites which validates his commitment to the covenant and the
Jewish people reciprocate by accepting the Torah. You have seen what I did to the
Egyptians, how I bore you on eagles wings and brought you to Me. Now then, if
you will obey Me faithfully and keep My covenant, you shall be My treasured

One World Essay: Dead Zone in the Gulf of Mexico
Scientific Reasoning:
The dead zone in the Gulf of Mexico is a human problem, like most other disasters.
What this means is that once the place thrived and was ecologically balanced, but we
tipped the balance slightly and wrecked havoc upon the environment. It has been
noted to occur since the 1950 s and is ongoing. The reason that this dead zone occurs
is because of a phenomenon known as eutrophication. Eutrophication is when there is
an excessive amount of nutrients in a body of water and it causes an abundance of
plants to grow. In this case the nearby farms had been using nitrogen in their
fertilizers. The nitrogen got carried into the ocean through rain and other forms of ...

Some species might thrive in conditions that other struggle to survive. For example
some predators might need more oxygen then a smaller prey. With less predators
being around, there is a huge burst in prey, which can eat up all of the bacteria.
When the bacteria all die, the prey can t find any food and all die out. This causes
a very unreliable food chain and can be dangerous to live in. In hypoxic zones what
tends to happen is that marine life such as fish or shrimp die out quickly while the
smaller organisms live. This causes whole species to die out leaving a dominance of
gelatinous creatures such as jellyfish to thrive in. Economic Problems:
There are many economical problems due to the dead zone ranging from fisheries
going out of business to illnesses. The economical problems have paid their toll on
nearby fishers whom in total have paid over 10 billion US dollars to repair the
problem. Sadly though, no matter how much they pay, the problem is still on
going. The gulf s massive fishing industry is trying to focus its efforts on the parts
that have been affected in an attempt to save their sea. According to many sources,
EPA views this problem as unimportant and hasn t helped yet. The reason that it is
so hard to come to an agreement is because there is no solution that pleases
everyone. Right now the farmers up north of the gulf are having an easy time
because of easy and cheap waste disposal while downstream the fishers are
36. The Evolution Of Film Noir
The film noir genre first appeared in the early 1940s and has grown since their first
appearance on screen. While there are various definitions and aspects that can define
this genre, it is usual depicted as having an anti hero set in a realistic setting while
trying to fight inner demons and the outer world surrounding problems
simultaneously. As any genre, it has noticeable tropes that can place it within this
spectrum. Over the years, since the first decade of film noir, society has changed,
causing the genre to adapt. The changes are not limited to being on film, but also to
those within other forms of media, such as television and literature. Rather than
focusing upon one area, it is better to look on it as a whole. Headhunters is a more...

Thee most inspiring issue or aspect of The Bean Trees by Barbara Kingsolver, in
my view, is the relationships and independence shown by the female characters.
Women like Taylor and Lou Ann show a close and loving relationship towards

weakness emotionally from their day to day of their lives. They relate many ways
since both are single moms taking care of a child by themselves. The independence
shown by these two is remarkable even by our modern world. Obviously, Taylor
shows a great deal of independence through the entire book. One example can be
shown in chapter one. Taylor left her hometown by herself with unreliable car and
drove into Taylorville. There,
38. Impact Of Globalization On The Changing Process Of...
Introduction
Although the organisational aspects and spatial aspects must also be looked at, the
flows of globalisation including economic, environmental, political and cultural
change must be looked at in terms of reconstructing places and specific communities
(Knox and Marston, 2016). Global networks allow the flows of globalisation to be
reconstructed rather than effaced. I will focus on the economic impact of
globalisation on the changing process of economic character and development in
London and Sydney.
Economic globalisation has been defined by (Cloke, Crang and Goodwin, 2013

A large portion of the establishments of todays apparently new global wonders go
back in any event to the time of imperialism, at times prior. Besides, numerous global
issues are exceedingly perplexing and show incredible spatial fluctuation, in this
manner significance there are no simple arrangements. In understanding these global
changes in London and Sydney.
Globalisation of the capitalist world has vastly increased since World War Two with
the growing innovation of technology and communication, this has created a
broadening global connectivity (Knox and Marston, 2016 pg 86). Which with theses
new innovations brings a quicker and more compelling method for transportation and
correspondence in places like London, helping to increase economic global
connectivity.
Globalisation has created a number of serious issues concerning environmental
,health, core periphery disparity and security issues (Knox and Marston, 2016 pg.
88).These issues are reflected in London urban development as this place has been
resisted and subverted by the structures of globalisation in terms of economic issues.
The capitalist and colonial flows of globalisation have allowed but the creation of

day, Marcello attends a party along with numerous artists and intellectuals at Steiner
s home. At one point, the two friends speak about how life is to be lived, where
Marcello asks Steiner how one can abandon his or her materialistic lifestyle. Steiner
ambivalently states, Safety is not being locked up in one s home. He continues on by

the film, is essentially useless in helping his friend and prodigy transition into a

The germ theory began when one scientist became motivated to disprove the theory
of spontaneous generation. This curiosity and motivation led to major changes in the
health of humanity. This theory helped the future generations while providing
methods to prevent disease. The developpement of the germ theory allowed other
scientists to expand on this concept and develop ways to apply information to care
for individuals with disease and help in the modern world. Microorganisms are
miniscule, they easily invade humans, animals and other living hosts which then lead
to disease. Louis Pasteura french biologist conducted a variety of experiements, his

Louis Pasteur s discovery of the relationship between germ and disease was only the
beginning to developping a permanent solution. The theory led to the realization that
handwashing helps prevent the spread of disease and disinfection can eliminate
germs. Disinfection and handwashing affected humanity because the rates of
infectious disease began to decline and epidemics lasted for a shorter time spand and
overall mortality decreased as a result. The introduction of the theory affected how
humanity viewed the human body. People began to believe that dirt contained
microorganisms and could cause an infection, which lead to bathing frequently.
Alongside his discovery were his inventions, for example the machine used to screen
and detect silkworm eggs which saved the European silk industry and helped prevent
silkworm
41. The Pros And Cons Of The Puritan Movement
Beginning as an outgrowth of the Church of England in the sixteenth century (c.
1550), Puritanism, strove to cleanse the new English church of its remaining
vestiges of Roman Catholic popery (Manos). This referred to the doctrines,
practices, and ceremonies that were heavily associated with the Papacy at that time
which they felt had strayed heavily from the true meaning of God s Word. There
was also a growing unrest and distaste with the administration of King Henry VIII s
newly established Anglican Church which was viewed as overtly corrupt due to its
heavy handed and self interested set of goals. As more and more people began to be
drawn into this way of thinking, they were dubbed with the pejorative term Puritan,
because of their all encompassing and often irrational desire to purify the Church
from the sins and corruptions they felt time and self involved clergy members had
wrought against it (Manos). The Puritan Movement was not simply a religion, but
rather a total philosophical way of living. It was incredibly stringent; advocating for
strict adherence to the Scriptures and the rules and regulations instituted by the
community and promising the salvation of a select number of elite. Thus, this
revolutionary offshoot of Protestantism cemented itself into the hearts of a small sect
of individuals deeply unsatisfied with the Anglican Church.
The Puritan people dreamed of an idealized society with no unscrupulous behavior
and a plain, no frills simplicity to their

that he needed a ride for alcohol, so his brother, (Jared) enlisted his girlfriend,

to take him to jail, not Scott or Jared. When asked about the other unidentified male,
Joshua was only able to provide a first name of, Joshua.
Contact was then made with the male subject named Joshua in the back of Officer
Hartmann s patrol vehicle. The subject advised that his name was Joshua Bene, and
provided hid date of birth. This information was confirmed in D.A.V.I.D. and
identified him as Joshua Bene. Bene advised that he was just along for the ride and

43. Questions On Open Education Resources Essay
1 DEFINITION OF OERs
Open Education Resources (OER) refers to educational resources or materials that
are freely available for use, reuse, and adaptation and sharing (creative commons,
2016). OERs are materials utilised for the purpose of research, learning and
teaching which may be found in the public field. Examples of OERs include media
elements such as graphics, photographs and images as well as educational content
such as workshops, books and research papers. These educational resources have
been made available under an open license that permits free usage for educational
use. Consequently all CC BY licensed educational resources are OER, since CC BY

Reduction, reuse and recycle (the three Rs) are a set of management alternatives in
integrated waste management that reduce the amount of municipal solid waste that
ends up incinerated or disposed of in landfills. Recycling is the process of collecting
and processing materials that would otherwise be thrown away as trash and turning
them into new products (US Environmental Protection Agency, 2016). Historically,
municipal solid waste disposal has seen its challenges from health risks to lack of
disposal space. Challenges resulting from urban population growth and rising
consumption of products since the Industrial Revolution began in Western Europe to
the present. Municipal solid waste disposal has evolved from the dilute and disperse,

44. Monty Python And The Holy Grail 1975 Directed By Terry...
The infamous British film known as Monty Python and the Holy Grail 1975
directed by Terry Gilliam and Terry Jones, was considered a cult classic among the
comedy genre. But what made it so significant among other films during that era,
and why is does it still stand the test of time? Classical films were originally
considered more than just another form of entertainment. This form of media
allowed artist to visually express their personal views through the big screen. Some
film makers tend to lean more on either the avant garde or political side of cinema to
tell their story. Being able to utilize film techniques in the most sophisticated ways to
tell a narrative is a challenge, but aesthetics are cognitively powerful within this art

It is a reaction to the concept of modernism; a style or movement in the arts that
aims to depart significantly from classical and traditional forms in the early 20th
century. Postmodern lacks a precise definition, but share many aspects of
modernism. They are fueled by post industrialization, and driven by late capitalism.
However, there are a few distinctions that make it quite deliberate from its
predecessor. According to Fredric Jameson s theory, the experience of an art is
mediated by technology and/or capitalism so we no longer experience things as
natural (Jameson 64). In other words there are effects that create this erosion of high
culture and low culture. In addition of devaluing historical contexts, while lacking an
ideology because the focus on a surface image of the art. Furthermore, it refocuses on
the individual rather than the singular subject. The basic concept of postmodernism
is the refusal to think historically, and disdain for the thought of underlying reality as
actuality. Overall postmodernism is broad, but very retrospective in terms of content,
form and style within cinema. It is all about recycling materials in order to reproduce
for the interest of the individual being rather than a singularity subject. On the other
hand, Monty Python and the Holy Grail style and form are what separate itself from
the masses of classical cinema, whether artistic or mainstream. The writers, producers
and directors of this film were developed
45. Compare And Contrast Medusa s Head And The Clash Of
Titans...
Medusa s Head and the Clash of Titans are short mythical stories that portray the
ancient legend of Perseus heroic journey. Both versions contain ancient gods,
goddesses, demigods, complicated trials, and terrifying monsters/creatures that are
encountered along Perseus s quest. There are many similarities between the book
version to that of the movie version. However, the director makes many plot changes
in the movie to balance out the sequence of events and vary the emotional and
physical activities throughout Perseuss story.
One of the major differences the director makes in the movie (dramatically
differentiates it from the book) is the reason why Perseus goes on a mission. In the
book, King Polydectes sets up a plan to get rid of Perseus by daring him a difficult
task, to kill Medusa and bring back her head. Perseus is challenged to a tough
venture and proves his braveness by taking on the bet. By killing the beast, Perseus
provides a gesture of gratitude towards Polydectes because he has nothing else offer
him since he is a servant. However, in the movie, Perseus must battle both Medusa
and the Kraken in order to save Princess Andromeda and prevent her from being
sacrificed. The director made this a great change in the movie because it portrays
Perseus as a better classical, archetypal hero. Not only does it enhance Perseus s
heroic qualities, but it also demonstrates his maturity and humility, he is one of a
kind. In the Clash of Clans, Perseus realizes he must

/ Melon Enterprise is a commercial real estate developer. You recently joined Melon
and your position reports directly to Pat Smith, the CEO. When you meet Pat for the
first time, she asks you to work on a project that has to be completed in about a week.
Pat tells you that Melon is thinking about leasing a parcel of land to build a shopping
center.
Melon would own and operate the shopping center and generate revenue by renting
space to retailers. Pat would like you to do some work on the project. Specifically,
she would like you to complete the following tasks:

Bob thought that the parcel of land would be large enough to build a shopping
center with as much as 60,000 square meters of retail space. He also thought that
Melon should make a one time upfront payment to lease the parcel of land for the
expected 20 year life of the project.
Bob thought the amount retailers in the shopping center would be willing to pay
per square meter of floor space would be a decreasing function of the total size of
the shopping center. Bob did some initial work estimating the likely relationship
between what tenants would be willing to pay for retail space and the size of the
shopping center. Specifically, he thought there was a 50% chance the true
relationship would be: r = 60 0.001s and a 50% chance that the true relationship
would be r = 50 0.001s where r is the rental rate per square meter of floor space and
s is the total size of the shopping center in square meters. Furthermore, Bob was
going to assume that once the shopping center had been built, the realized
relationship between r and s would remain unchanged for the next 20 years.
Bob was planning to ignore discount rates and the time value of money in his initial
evaluation of the project. He was going to treat all of the project s costs and benefits
equally no matter when they occurred in the life of the project; that is, he was going
to treat a $1 cost incurred (or

47. Aphasia Is A Language Disorder
Aphasia is a language disorder where certain areas of the brain are damaged, which
affects one s ability to comprehend or produce speech and language. Nearly two
million Americans have some type of aphasia, with about 180,000 American s
acquiring aphasia per year (NAA). There are many ways aphasia could be acquired
such as, traumatic brain injury, infections, diseases or tumors. However, it is most
commonly acquired by having a hemorrhagic or ischemic stroke. These events do not
always lead to aphasia, but when they do, it is because the lesions are located in
certain languagecenters of the brain, such as Broca s Area or Wernicke s Area.
According to Schlaug, Marchina, and Norton (2008) about 600,000 to 750,000
strokes are documented each year in the US and around 20% of those who suffer
from a stroke end up with some form of aphasia.
It has been shown over the years that intervention and therapy greatly benefits
those with aphasia, allowing them to gain some of their language skills back or
taking some of the strain off producing language. Melodic Intonation Therapy is
one of the most efficient ways to treat adult s affected with non fluent aphasia. In
this research paper it will be discussed what Melodic Intonation Therapy (MIT) is,
the types of aphasias it is used for, how MIT is performed, research studies that give
credit to MIT, and what criteria needs to be met before starting MIT.
Depending on where the lesion is it could result in different types of

The story My Last Duchess , written by Robert Hayden, is about the Duke of
Ferrara who is addressing a painted portrait of his last duchess to a visitor. As the
Duke articulates how the portrait came to be, his mindset toward the late duchess
reveals how he truly feels about their marriage. Throughout the monologue, the reader
is made aware of how jealous and controlling the ego driven Duketruly is.
To begin, one can see the Duke, who claims to never stoop down to his last duchess
s unapproved behavior, is ruled by his ego. For example, during the times that she
rode on a white mule around the terrace, he claims she would receive compliments
from other men and kindly thank them. According to the Duke, this was unapproved

49. The Story of Perseus and Medusa
Perseus is the son of Zeus and Danae, Zeus is a god and Danae is just a human,
which makes Perseus a Demigod. Medusa is a beautiful woman but, she has
serpents on her head. People turned into stone as soon as they saw Medusa s face.
The story of Perseus and Medusa always interested me. When I saw the sculpture of
Perseusholding the head of Medusaand had his sword in the other had I got
interested to know more about the story of Perseus and Medusa, I have always
heard the story about Perseus and that he killed Medusa but I didn t know how. I
wanted to know more about the story in detail and how Perseus actually killed
Medusa without turning into a stone. The sculpture itself looked beautiful, it was
carved in Marble.
The artwork is portrayed as a naked man holding the head of Medusa in his left
hand and in his right hand he the sword that beheaded Medusa and he were
wearing the cap of darkness and the winged sandles. It was all carved in marble.
This sculpture was made by Antonio Canova, he was born in Passagno. This
marble was carved in Rome in 1804 6. There are many different ways the story of
Perseus and Medusa are told. One of the ways that is told is that, Acrisius was the
king of Argos, the oracle of Delphi told the king that his daughter Danae s son will
one day kill him. Acrisius couldn t let that happen. Acrisius was scared, so he
deprived his daughter with any possible contact with outside world by, locking her in
a bronze tower. The tower only had a small

Fast food has quickly managed to imprint itself on American culture. The greasy,
unhealthy form of empty calories has infiltrated into the homes of many, including
my own. In my younger days, my parents often took me out and treated me to
french fries and chicken nuggets. It had become a tradition to go to McDonald s
every week. This poor eating pattern has now led to my family having a special
fondness for the fast foodchain, just as McDonald s strives for. In Fast FoodNation,
Schlosser describes the clever strategy of using customer loyalty in the following
passage: Hoping that nostalgic childhood memories of a brand will lead to a
lifetime of purchases, companies now plan cradle to grave advertising strategies...

Due to the alarming lack of attention and care to the raisings of meats used in fast
food restaurants, foodborne illnesses can and have appeared in items from places
like Taco Bell and Jack in the Box. These diseases can then spread rapidly among
the community as family members, classmates, coworkers, and even strangers
come in contact, direct or indirect, with the infected: People have been infected by
drinking contaminated water, by swimming in a contaminated lake, by playing at
a contaminated water park, by crawling on a contaminated carpet (201). Schlosser
reveals how vulnerable communities are to foodborne outbreaks areas as small as a
neighborhood or as large as a state are all susceptible to an outbreak. Because of this,
people should be more careful of what they eat and should be more aware of where
their food really comes from, both for their own sake and their
51. Ringo and Bayard in Faulkner s The Unvanquished Essay
Comparing and Contrasting Bayard and Ringo Bayard and his black slave and
sidekick, Ringo, are twelve years old when we are first introduced to them in
William Faulkner s The Unvanquished. Ringo (Marengo) grandson of Joby, is born
a slave on John Sartoris plantation. He and Bayard nursed from the same slave s
breast and become constant companions: Ringo and I had been born in the same
month, Bayard says, and had both fed at the same breast and had slept together and
eaten together for so long that Ringo called Granny Granny just like I did, until
maybe he wasn t a nigger anymore or maybe I wasn t a white boy anymore, the two
of us neither, not even people any longer (7). Ringer serves as Bayard s faithful

In fact, she never asks Bayard to do anything to facilitate her enterprise. She
discusses everything with Ringo, while Bayard seems to be merely an onlooker.
Ringo seems content with his situation, immune to the issue of his possible
emancipation: Do you know what I aint? Ringo says... I aint a nigger anymore. I
done been abolished. (199). He later becomes more complex, but in Ambuscade he
is little more than the cheerful, wide eyed slave boy who puts his loyalty and
friendship for Bayard above all else. During the Civil War, he assists Granny a
great deal in managing the war ravaged plantation, including the forgery of Union
Army papers to steal livestock. Bayard is in awe (envy?) when he sees how Ringo
can draw on the counterfeit. Ringo could not write and had refused to learn to
print his own name when Loosh was teaching Bayard his letters: who had learned
to draw immediately by taking up the pen, who had no affinity for it and had never
denied he had not but who learned to draw simply because somebody had to (142).
Oddly enough, Ringo, who is a prominent character throughout most of the novel,
is mysteriously `silent in An odor of Verbena as an adult. When we meet Bayard
and Ringo as grown men, Ringo is curiously absent, no longer beside Bayard. Away
at college, Bayard has come of age while his `silent sidekick works on the farm back
home. Bayard, the narrator, mentions Ringo s silent presence twice: when he brings
news of John
52. Virgin Australia Essay
There have been many branches of the Virgin Empire that have formed over the
years. Many have brought continued success to the Virgin Group, while others
have struggled and failed. Virgin Atlantic Airways was launched in 1984, Virgin
Mobile (cellular) in 1999, and Virgin Blue (airline) in Australia (now named Virgin
Australia) in 2000. Branson wrote in his autobiography of the decision to start an
airline: My interest in life comes from setting myself huge, apparently unachievable
challenges and trying to rise above them ... from the perspective of wanting to live
life to the full, I felt that I had to attempt it. (Branson, 2007) Branson started Virgin
Express in 1996 by acquiring Euro Belgian Airlines, a short haul airline. Ten years
later Virgin Express merged with SN Brussels Airlines to form Brussels Airlines. At
this time Branson and Virgin expanded their airline branch into Nigeria (Virgin
Nigeria) and America (Virgin America). (About Us: Virgin, 2015) With the success
of Virgin Airways, there was undoubtedly going to be some disagreements from their
competitors. One such instance was with British Airways in the early 1990 s, which
viewed Virgin as an emerging competitor. After a fairly lengthy legal battle in which
Virgin accused British Airways... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

theirs to market, they already looked outdated. These two branches closed a year after

War and Peace
Leo Tolstoy
TOLSTOY, L. (2017). WAR AND PEACE. S.l.: OXFORD UNIV PRESS. War
and Peace was written by Leo Tolstoy in 1867, about sixty two years after War and
Peace took place. War and Peace gives a detailed background to how Russian
society was during Napoleon s invasion. Throughout this book, Tolstoy gives
examples of how class and social importance can drop quickly and majorly
devastating in Moscow. But while in St. Petersburg dropping a social class was not
as devastating, but still was still talked about in the everyday life of a peasant. Many
themes and ideas are represented in War and Peace. Family was also well represented
in Tolstoy s book, War and Peace. In Tolstoy s eye family is written with a harsh
reality and devastating truth. Throughout the book, each family has its own
problems, happy moments, deaths, marriages, and many other things. For example,
the Rostov family had many ups and downs. In volume 2, Count and Countess
Rostov demanded their son, Pierre Rostov to marry a rich girl to save his family

54. Analyzing Stafford s Poem Traveling Through The Dark
Traveling Through the Dark
Stafford furtively conceals the profound meaning of his poem behind a story of the
narrator, who stops alongside the road to care for a deer. The genius behind poem is
better understood when the superficial meaning is expressed deeply.
Driving down a narrow mountain road, traveling through the dark, the narrator of the
poem encounters a deer. The deer is actually dead on the edge of the Wilson River
road. The traveler decides to send the deer over the edge of the canyon, because to
swerve might make more dead. This line indicates that if he fails or swerves in his
decision, the deer could cause an accident on the narrow road that might cost more
lives.
The narrator prepared with this purpose, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The personified car is expectantly awaiting his decision, eager to get moving again.
The wilderness takes on human abilities also, silently witnessing the outcome it
knows must be, but wishing it was otherwise. As the narrator contemplates all of this,
the taillights of the car illuminate him in their red light. This is reflective of the
heightened emotions he is experiencing, but also brings to mind the bloody fate of
the deer and her unborn fawn.
The narrator thinks hard for us all and proceeds with the task he had committed to
since the beginning. He pushes the deer and her unborn fawn over the edge into the
river.
There is much more to this poem than its literal story. The title, along with the story
itself, suggests man s overlook for nature. People seem to travel through oblivious
to the consequences of their actions. The driver who killed the deer is an example
of this theme. He was also traveling through the dark, as the deer was a recent
killing. The fact that he left it in the middle of the road, with no further thought for it
or anyone else behind him, implies his dark nature.
The main theme of the poem however, is the sadness and misfortune that
accompanies everyone s journey through

possible; they named it McDonald s Bar B Q and the soon to be fast food giant had
begun ( History of ). The restaurant the brothers opened was a drive in, and was an
instant hit. In 1948, the McDonald brothers decided that it was time to open a sit
