This document proposes a Raspberry Pi-based system to announce bus stop names as the bus arrives. It would consist of a Raspberry Pi board, RF transmitter at each stop, an RF receiver on the bus, an LCD screen and speaker. When the bus arrives at a stop, its RF receiver would detect the unique signal from that stop's transmitter. The Raspberry Pi would then display the stop name on the LCD and announce it over the speaker, helping passengers know which stop they are at. Key advantages are that it provides flexible information updates and could enable remote monitoring of stops and alternate routing.
