1) The film "Tight Jeans" consists of three friends sitting on a wall waiting for another friend and engaging in comedic dialogue about nonsense topics like tight jeans.
2) The film "The Fly" follows the getaway driver of a bank robbery who becomes increasingly agitated by a fly in the car until he destroys his chance of successfully completing the robbery by shooting at the fly.
3) Both films rely heavily on diegetic sound and dialogue to drive the comedic narratives, using camerawork and editing to keep the viewer focused on the characters and their conversations.

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

1. Film title: Tight Jeans Duration: 8:41
Micro Features -Describekey features and explain what meaning is given: Macro Features - Explain whatthe micro elements suggest about:
Mise en scene (e.g. setting, costume, performance, colour, props and proxemics.)
There is not much notable mise en scene in this short. The entire film
mainly consists of three men sitting on a small wall waiting for their
friend. They are sitting in close proximity to one another, so it is obvious
that they have some form of friendly relationship with each other. They
are all dressed in casual clothing throughout the short.
Genre (What are the key themes? Iconography?)
This short is entirely a comedy due to its heavy reliance on comedic
dialogue between the characters. As said previously the lack of non-
diegetic sound or more experimental shots allows the viewer to fully
focus on what is happening and what they are hearing, which allows
the short to become funnier to a spectator.
Camerawork e.g. shot types, angles, movement, composition, lightingand depth of
field)
The filmprimarily uses medium eye level shots with small pans whilst
the characters are talking. The entire film is lit in high key lighting.
Narrative (Whatevents are shown? Are there any conflicts/oppositions? Narrative
structure? Use of dialogue? Character development)
To begin with, the characters are just shown to be waiting for their
friend. Then, one of the men spots a man wearing tight jeans and
begins to ramble about them. Then the friend they are waiting for tells
them they will have to wait longer, and they continue to ramble about
nonsense.
Editing (Paceand rhythm? Motivation for the transition? Creatingrelationships? )
The filmcreates an overall slower pace due to its longer shot lengths.
This is used as it allows the viewer to focus more on the conversation,
rather than the visual aspects.
Representation (Howare characters, places or events represented?)
The characters are represented as friends, as seen in the proxemics of
them. Aside from this, they are represented as gullible and ridiculous
due to the dialogue spoken between one another.
Sound (e.g. music,dialogue,voiceover, effects)
The short mainly consists of just diegetic sounds, with the exception of
some non-diegetic music at the beginning and end of the short. This
allows the film to be more comedic as the spectator can focus more on
the characters dialogue entirely, rather than music.
Audience (Whoisthe targetaudience andhowisthisevident?)
I believethatthe audience forthisshortisteenagersandyoungadultsdue to
the explicitnature of whattheyare talkingabout.
Credits and titles (Any text elements, don’t forget idents and ordering)
Aside from opening credits and ending credits, there are no other titles
in the film.
Spectatorship (Emotional response? Preferred and alternativereadings?)
I believethatthe spectatormayempathize withthesecharacters,asitis
obviousthatthey are just distractingthemselveswhilstwaitingforafriend.
2. Film title: The Fly Duration: 6 minutes
Micro Features -Describekey features and explain what meaning is created: Macro Features - Explain whatthe micro elements suggest about:
Mise en scene (e.g. setting, costume, performance, colour, props and proxemics.)
The short is set in a car, outside of a bank being robbed. It is about the
getaway driver, who is becoming increasingly agitated at a fly that is
around him. Things begin to go wrong and his setting becomes
destroyed as he begins getting more agitated.
Genre (What are the key themes? Iconography?)
Dark comedy, the spectatorismeantto laughat the driver’ssufferinginthis
short,as you can see thatall of hisplansbeginto crumble as he destroyshis
onlychancesto succeed.
Camerawork (e.g. shot types, angles, movement, composition, lightingand depth of
field)
The camera tends to stay close to the driver throughout the short,
almost acting as the fly and invading his personal space, allowing the
spectator to truly see the driver’s facial expressions and increasingly
agitated body language.
Narrative (Whatevents are shown? Are there any conflicts/oppositions? Do you
get a sense of the full film’s beginning-middle-end?)
To begin with, you can hear the driver’s crew enter what is later revealed to be a
bank. The driver is visibly stressed, and you can see him becoming increasingly tense.
To make matters worse, a fly is annoyingthe driver and itgets to a pointin which the
driver can take no more and he shoots the car in attempt to get the fly.He then sees
his crew exit the bank and look at him in slightawe.
Editing (Paceand rhythm? Motivation for the transition? Creatingrelationships? )
The pace of the filmstarts quite steadily, but consistently becomes
faster and more overwhelming, almost reflecting the drivers mental
state as he waits for his crew to leave the bank.
Representation (Howare characters, places or events represented?)
The driver is represented as stressed and somewhat short tempered.
Sound (Whatdiegetic and non-diegetic sounds areused? Mood? Key dialogue?)
There is minimal non-diegetic sound in this short, as the diegetic sounds
take up most of the sound scape. I believe that this was used as it allows
the spectator to sympathise with the driver more and will further allow
them to experience the annoyance of the fly. The only non-diegetic
sound is a drone in the background and I believe that this is used to build
a sense of tension.
Audience (Whoisthe targetaudience andhowisthisevident?)
I believethatthe targetaudience of the filmare teenagersandyoungadults
due to the explicitnature of the short.
Credits and titles (Any text elements, don’t forget idents and releaseinfo)
There is the title at the beginning of the film, and credits at the end. This
is the only instance of text in the film.
Spectatorship (Emotional response? Preferred and alternativereadings?)
I believe that the spectator is meant to empathise with the driver,as they followhim
through all of the events that finally lead to his faluire.
