The document discusses the Celtic origins of Halloween and traditions associated with it. It states that Halloween originated from the Celtic belief that the souls of the dead visited Earth on the last day of October. Traditions discussed include children begging or "souling" door to door for food and money, superstitions about black cats, and the North American tradition of trick-or-treating originating from the idea that the dead must be honored or they will play tricks. The document summarizes an experiment on perceived differences in athleticism between males and females. 38 psychology students participated in physical fitness tests including pushups, situps, and runs. Most participants (20 of 38) believed males to be more athletic. The test results showed males had higher averages in strength-based activities while females were more flexible and agile on average. However, there were many uncontrolled variables like floor slipperiness, lack of equipment, and imbalanced participant attributes that could have impacted the results. Improving controls and adding a music variable were suggested for future experiments.
The circulatory system transports nutrients, oxygen, water, and removes wastes throughout the body using the heart, blood, and blood vessels. The heart pumps blood through arteries and veins to all body cells via capillaries where oxygen and nutrients are exchanged for carbon dioxide and other wastes. Diseases can occur if this process is disrupted by issues like narrowed arteries or damaged heart muscles. The respiratory system takes in oxygen and removes carbon dioxide through breathing using the lungs, trachea, bronchi and diaphragm in a multi-step process. Pollution and other exposures can damage these systems and lead to diseases such as lung cancer, bronchitis or emphysema if not mitigated by a healthy lifestyle.

Catalysing Change through Dialogic Conversations with cultureQsEric Lynn
Everybody talks about change. Nevertheless, change is never about the change – it's always about the business. And one key challenge is inevitably, catalysing people to align and engage with the new direction. This is the focus of cultureQs which forms the core of this workshop. Organisations are about people. People have the (respons-)ability to Shape their Organisations.
I began developing cultureQs in 2002 following a client challenge at the initial strategy workshop following a corporate acquisition in the transportation sector: "How can we accelerate the process of connecting at a meaningful level to enable us to focus on our business more effectively?"
In this workshop you will …
• experience the power and potential of dialogic conversation
• explore essential Questions that are rarely asked
• learn simple strategies that impact group focus

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).

Removing Uninteresting Bytes in Software FuzzingAftab Hussain
Imagine a world where software fuzzing, the process of mutating bytes in test seeds to uncover hidden and erroneous program behaviors, becomes faster and more effective. A lot depends on the initial seeds, which can significantly dictate the trajectory of a fuzzing campaign, particularly in terms of how long it takes to uncover interesting behaviour in your code. We introduce DIAR, a technique designed to speedup fuzzing campaigns by pinpointing and eliminating those uninteresting bytes in the seeds. Picture this: instead of wasting valuable resources on meaningless mutations in large, bloated seeds, DIAR removes the unnecessary bytes, streamlining the entire process.
In this work, we equipped AFL, a popular fuzzer, with DIAR and examined two critical Linux libraries -- Libxml's xmllint, a tool for parsing xml documents, and Binutil's readelf, an essential debugging and security analysis command-line tool used to display detailed information about ELF (Executable and Linkable Format). Our preliminary results show that AFL+DIAR does not only discover new paths more quickly but also achieves higher coverage overall. This work thus showcases how starting with lean and optimized seeds can lead to faster, more comprehensive fuzzing campaigns -- and DIAR helps you find such seeds.

RossThe Neighborhood Design Center: small, local (MD based), non-profit organization has been providing pro bono landscape planning and architectural services to local communities for over 35 years. The Center has led/been involved with over 2,000 projects. What it is: From rebuilding playgrounds to redeveloping abandoned buildings, the Neighborhood Design Center is ingrained in the local community, connecting highly specialized volunteers with community members and businesses that need their services the most. How it works: NDC recruits and mobilizes volunteer architects, planners, landscape architects, engineers, and other design professionals to contribute their services to neighborhood design projects. BackgroundOffice Locations:Full & Part-Time staffBoard of DirectorsFundingOne client example: Transforming Neighborhoods Initiative: - Replacing street trees in 6 Prince George’s County neighborhoods to enhance shade, character, and look of the community which ultimately can lead to higher home valuesAnother client example: Northwood Plaza Center:- Helped lead an all-day design workshop with community stakeholders and citizens so that all could contribute ideas to improve the Shopping Center Plaza near north Baltimore. The final presentation to city officials included recommendations for more pedestrian-friendly and interactive activities like concerts or festivals.
