Jay receives a letter accepting him to Merriweather Academy, a school far from his home in Newport. He is excited for a change of scenery. Jay arrives at the island where the school is located, dropping his suitcase in relief. He is greeted by Penelope, Sarah, and Eugene. Penelope eagerly asks Jay questions about himself, but Sarah tells her not to pester strangers. Eugene defends Penelope's curiosity and friendliness. They welcome Jay and ask him about his name and special powers.

FADE IN:
INT. JOES BEDRROM - MORNING
Jay is asleep in a single, wooden square bed all tucked up,
warm and cosy under his big, thick pattered duvet. Jay was
dreaming of being back home, being reunited with his
step-mum, his pet dog and his friends back in Newport. Joe
is at peace and restful when in bed however, this gets
quickly disturbed by the harsh, sharp noise of his alarm.
JAY'S MUM
Jay, Jay wake up you've got a
letter from Merriweather Academy
JAY
(Carries on sleeping)
JAY'S MUM
Jay! Jay! Wake up, This is an
important letter. Wake up and open
it!
JAY
(Opens his eyes,
stretches out his arms
and pulls himself up out
of bed and slowly opens
the letter)
Mum, guess what? I've been
accepted! Its a long way from here,
I could do with a change of
scenery!

SCENE 2: EXT. THE ISLAND - DAY
FADE IN TO JAY'S
ARRIVAL

( Jay arrives with his
suitcase in hand, quickly
dropping it to the ground
with relief on his
arrival at the school.
Three students come to
meet him.)
PENELOPE:
Penelope is a short brown haired girl with glasses.
Hi there, my names Penelope. What's
your name? where do you come from?
How long did it take you to get
here? What's your special powers?
SARAH AND EUGENE
(Sarah and Eugene are
walking with one another.
They see Penelope talking
to Jay and start heading
towards her.)
SARAH
Penelope! What have i told you
about pestering strangers?!
EUGENE
(turns around to look at
Sarah.)
Awwh, give her a break , shes only
curious. She just wants to make
some new friends! don't you Penny?!
(Penelope gets
embarrassed and her
cheeks turn red.)
I hope we haven't scared you mate!
So What's your name? What's your
special powers?
