The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) is an autonomous body established by the Indian government in 1961. It prepares and publishes school textbooks and other educational materials for grades 1 through 12. NCERT also provides training to teachers, advises the central and state governments on education policy, and implements programs to promote quality education in India through various initiatives such as e-learning resources, sign language teaching materials, and teacher training programs. It operates through different regional institutes of education across India.
