This document contains checklists for students to self-edit and peer edit nature journal entries based on the book Hatchet. The self-edit checklist allows students to rate their own work on criteria such as including big ideas, using first-person point of view, including characters' feelings, vocabulary, grammar, and more. The peer edit checklist contains the same criteria for peers to rate each other's work and provide constructive feedback.
