Introduction
We have been working on a reading strategy
called close reading. Close reading is when
you carefully study a text (story, article,
paragraph, poem, or chapter) so that you can
deeply understand the meaning.
Introduction
Why would it be important to know how to
closely read a text?
What situations might you be in where you
would need to do this?
Introduction
There are many steps to close reading but the
first step is to simple sit down and do a cold
read.
During a cold read, you read a text once
through to get a sense of what it is about.
