most important factors to our society currently. Cotton cultivation dates back over
7,000 years, seeds of cotton are found all over the world. Cotton is hugely important
throughout the world, making cotton useful to make a number of textile products.
Since cotton is used and produced on such a widespread industry, cotton s largest
producers are China and India. However; the largest exporters of raw cotton are the
United States and Africa. The advancement in cotton textile industries, and the
worldwide vast cultivation of the crop is the product of human demand towards the
farming, production, and export of cotton.

A Report On My Mortar Platoon
It was a rainy morning in mid October. My mortar platoon was able to do a week s
worth of dismounted patrols tasked with clearing compounds of interest of IED
factories, weapons caches, and drug stockpiles (mainly marijuana). The patrol

I knew that today would most likely be the same. At around 0600 we mounted in
our MRAPs and Strykers and also picked up the Sappers and EOD. Before leaving
FOB Zangabad we linked up with the ANA that we were doing a joint patrol with
and then left our start point. We drove north on RTE Quebec and made a right onto

The rain started to come down extremely heavy so we strong pointed inside a
building for roughly 30 minutes. As soon as we began to step off again one of the
ANA shot into the sky right next to us. We yelled at him and got him to stop but he
would not tell us why he did it. The other ANA began joking and just saying he was
an idiot and we started moving again. I remember jumping a small stream and one
of the sappers fell onto his back and was rolling side to side saying I can t get up
ugh . All the ANA were pointing and laughing and so were we. We were all having

about to leave the compound to walk alongside a mud wall that ran north and
south. We turn south and start walking down and an ANA soldier looks at me and

I look out just in front of me and see a potpourri of dirt, rocks, and body parts with
some hitting me in the face. Machine gun fire starts to our 11 o clock position and

quick cover and start returning fire. We start taking more fire from our 1230
