2. ABOUTTHECOLLEGE:
Sri Vasavi College, Erode sponsored by
Erode Vidya Sangam is in its fifty second year of
fruitful service in the cause of higher education. Started
as a pre‐university college in the year 1967, it has
emerged as an outstanding institution of higher
learning offering 9 UG courses, 4 PG courses and
research programmes in 12 disciplines in the aided
wing. The Self Finance Wing was started in the year
1994 and it offers 12 UG courses, 3 PG courses, 6
M.Phil Courses. The college is a co‐educational one
and is affiliated to Bharathiar University, Coimbatore.
The College is accredited by NAAC with B grade. The
College is located 12km away from Erode on the
Cochin‐Chennai National Highway in a sprawling 27
acre campus. The college has about 250 computers
housed in 8 labs with wireless internet connectivity.
The library has a huge collection of 55000 volumes of
books with 200 journals/magazines cater to the
academicneedsof3000studentsand140faculty.
ABOUTTHEDEPARTMENT:
The Department of Computer Science lingers
to be an igniting factor of intellectual development. It
offers B.Sc and M.Sc Computer Science. The UG and
PG course of the discipline emerged in the year 1994
and 1998 respectively. The department has a separate
lab with 40 systems and internet connectivity. The
computer science library governs about 7500 books
and 30 national and international journals/magazines.
The department has 9 University rank holders as
feathers added to its achievements. The department
serves with the motto of equipping its students to face
the competitive modern world by providing various
new platforms. The department has organized five
national conferences, various seminars and workshops
forthedevelopmentofthelearningcommunity.
ABOUTTHESEMINAR :
Data forms the foundation of the Digital age.
The volume of data that one has to deal has exploded
to implausible levels in the past decade, and at the
same time, the price of data storage has radically
reduced. Learning how to organize, analyze, and
interpret large data sets from industry, academia and
scientific research circles and extracting useful
information has become essential for a wide range of
professionals who want to analyze and derive
meaning from large data sets. Research institutions
capture terabytes of data about user's interactions,
business, social media, and also sensors from devices
such as mobile phones and automobiles. The
challenge of this era is to make sense of this set of
data. This is where big data analytics comes into
picture. Big Data Analytics largely involves
collecting data from different sources, manage it in a
way that it becomes available to be consumed by
analysts and finally deliver data products useful to
the purpose. The aim of NSDA 2019 is to provide a
national open forum for the researchers and
technocrats in academia as well as in industries from
different parts of the country to interact, exchange
concepts, prototypes, innovative research ideas and
share outcomes of work which could contribute to
the academic area. The seminar will have useful
brainstorming sessions by Academic/Industry
experts and paper presentations by the delegates.
This seminar will provide an excellent opportunity
for the young students researchers and academicians
