2. About SRM Institute of Science and Technology
SRM Institute of Science and Technology (formerly known
as SRM University) is one of the top ranking Universities
and most premier engineering destinations in India, which
was established in 1985 by the Founder Chancellor, Dr. T.R.
Paarivendhar. Now it is functioning in four campuses locat-
ed at Kattankulathur, Vadapalani and Ramapuram in Tamil-
nadu, Modi Nagar in Ghaziabad with over 52,000 students
and 3000 faculty members. It offers a wide range of
programs to students appyling for undergraduate,
post-graduate and doctoral programs in Engineering,
Management, Medicine & Health Sciences, Law and
Science & Humanities. The SRMIST hosted 98th Indian
Science Congress Association in 2011.
SRMIST has been engaged in nurturing minds through a
rich heritage of academic excellence. Essentially a hub of
bustling student activities, the green and beautiful campus
has been a second-home to thousands of students in their
journey to pursue higher education. The Institution has
moved up through international alliances and collaborative
initiatives to achieve global excellence. The SRMIST also
collaborates with foreign Universities like MIT, Carnegie
Mellon University (CMU), Pittsburg University etc., offering
a postgraduate academic program MSIT-ESE. Over 200
students were sponsored to 35 foreign Universities like
Carnegie Mellon, UC Davis, Warwick and Western Australia.
Now the Institute enjoys an unsurpassed reputation in
academia and corporate circles being the preferred
manpower source for vision to be recognized as a
world-class learning institution. SRMIST has been catego-
rized as grade A University by Ministry of Human Resources
Development (MHRD), Government of India. SRMIST is
accredited by NAAC with 'A++' Grade in the year 2018.
About the School of Computing
The School of Computing is one of the fastest growing
schools in the SRM Institute of Science and Technology
with over 6000+ students and 350+ faculty members. The
School incorporates Department of Computing Technolo-
gies, Department of Networking and Communications,
Department of Data Science and Business Systems &
Department of Computational Intelligence. The School of
Computing provides a springboard of umpteen opportuni-
ties for the young dynamic minds by blending theoretical
and practical aspects of Computing technologies. Our
primary focus is to equip the students to meet the challeng-
es of the current and future digital world. The courses are
