Primaeval Forest can be
defined as cool, temperate
continental climate with the
Atlantic influence.

22. Bialowieza National Park lies on the
watershed of the Vistula and
Niemen. The park has no lakes or
larger rivers. The most valuable area
of the park lies at the confluence of
the rivers Hwoźna and Narewka. The
forest River has its source Orłówka.

recognized in approx. 50%, so the
actual number of species living in
the forest massif can count about
25,000.

the forest alive approx. 250 wild
bison,

from Bialowieza breeding.

The most visited objects are Bison Reserve,
museum BPN and BPN Strict Protection Area. The
areas of strict protection (Precinct Protective
Orłówka) and a museum, tourists may enter
only under the supervision of an authorized
guide.

the National Park in
Bialowieza against global
biosphere reserves in 1979.
