Marketing Tips to Help You Wrap Your Brain

Growing your hypnotism practice or other
small business by using social media
marketing can be one of the simplest, most
manageable and affordable ways to connect
with new clients and to reinforce your existing
relationship with current or past clients.
Each social media platform has distinctive
benefits and you will (if you haven’t already)
determine over time which platforms are most
effective for you. No matter which other social
media platforms sole proprietors or small
businesspeople choose, typically they will
always list Facebook among the top ways they
engage with their market.
Why is Facebook such a good tool to help you
engage with your clients and prospects?
For starters, many of the people in your
market are already actively using Facebook
regularly. They share pictures with friends and
family, read and write reviews of products and
destinations, and regularly “Like” brand pages
in order to receive perks or updated
information.
Although overall use of Facebook has
experienced a moderate decline in recent

years, that decline primarily reflects Facebook’s internal clean-up of defunct or duplicate accounts
and a trend among teens to seek online venues their parents are less actively frequenting.
Changes in Facebook usage have more to do with a social media platform maturing and are less
about a decline in activity. The bottom-line is that Facebook remains a powerful tool that enables
you to connect with people who are interested in your services and your products.
In case you have been dragging your feet and you still do not have a Facebook Business Page,
we’ve provided a simple “how to” below to help you get up and running. If you already have a page
on Facebook, you may want to skip directly to page 3 for more tips on getting the most out of
Facebook.
Your Facebook Business Page
1. Start on your Personal Facebook page and
click the “down arrow” in the upper right
corner of your page. Scroll down, and then
click “create page”.
2. Enter the name of your page (your company)
and then choose the category for your
business.
3. Add a description of your brand/services/ or
business and add your webpage URL. Fill in
as many details as you can about your
business and your offerings. Be sure to add a
profile photo (180 x 180 pixels) and to specify
your preferred page audience so Facebook
knows who should see the page.
4. Next you’ll need a cover photo or header
sized to 851 x 315 pixels. If this sounds
overwhelming, try www.pagemodo.com or
www.canva.com to make the process easy.
5. Lastly, start talking! Although there are other
actions you will want to take and more details
to add to your page, you can do them in
upcoming days as you explore your Facebook
Business page and the options it offers. Just
invite your friends and current clients, letting
them know you have a new page, and then
post content frequently to engage their
interest.

Facebook offers you many ways to connect, share, and build relationships.
Here is a list of top tips you can try from your Facebook Business Page.
Create engagement by asking questions, running polls, and taking surveys. Your followers like
to feel that their opinions matter. You can poll your followers with a standard post on your page
(free) or use Facebook polling apps.
Strengthen your visibility in web search with a strong Facebook page. A Facebook Business
Page that contains your business name or brand name will be indexed and visible to web users
searching Google for your business. The more places your name/brand appears on the web the
greater your cyber footprint and the more readily clients will find you.
Keep the 80/20 rule in mind on Facebook. Make 80% of your content helpful, informational, and
entertaining for your followers, while keeping your self-promotional content to 20% or less.
Show off your success by letting others tell your story. Your Facebook Business Page is an ideal
way to showcase the testimonials, client stories or endorsements that you have permission to
use publicly.
You probably already know that you can target your ads to a specific audience, but did you know
you can target your organic content, too? You’ll find instructions on Facebook’s Help Center at:
www.facebook.com/help/352402648173466
Next to your page’s Like button is a Call to Action button. Use this to attract Facebook fans to
your website, to get them to download a report you offer in PDF format, to sign up for your
newsletter, or any other technique that expands engagement and offers you an additional way to
connect with them.
Use the analytics offered on your Business Page to study which types of information you offer
yields the highest levels of views and response. Pay attention to the days of the week and the
hours during the day when your posts seem to draw the greatest attention. Be sure you are
always offering a quality comment at these times, but also consider scheduling some of your
information to post at off-peak times when competition for the Facebook user’s attention will be
lower and your items will be more noticeable.
Photos significantly increase engagement.
Facebook affords you a distinctive strategy for reaching your audience.
While Google Ad-Words and organic optimization techniques connect
you with web users based on their intent, Facebook connects you with
Facebook users based on their interests and demonstrated past patterns.
“Facebook was not originally created to be a company. It was built
to accomplish a social mission - to make the world more
open and connected.” Mark Zuckerberg MORE ON
