This document proposes a simple and inexpensive solution for astronauts to communicate while in space using sign language. The prototype involves gloves with sensors that detect finger bending and hand movements. The sensors send data to an Arduino board which processes the signals and displays the translated words on an LCD screen. The proposed system uses flex sensors to measure finger bending, an MPU6050 sensor to track hand movements in six axes, and an Arduino Uno microcontroller to convert the sensor readings into displayed words on an LCD screen. It provides a potentially cheaper alternative to existing costly space communication methods.
